I just had a great experience with Hyperion Tree Service. We had a huge and challenging project with a very large, old, sick oak tree that had large limbs overhanging my roof as well as the neighbors' fences/back yards etc. They did a fantastic job with that work. I had received estimates from about 10 other providers, and their cost was very competitive. They also had the best communication about the process, and their cost included removing all of the lumber. We also chose to add on other tree trimming and pruning and poison ivy removal, and they did an awesome job consulting me on how best to handle the side yard and overhanging branches. After getting multiple quotes for tree service (as you would for any big project) and making the decision to go with a company that best fit the budget, I respectfully informed Hyperion that I greatly appreciated their time but have decided on a different company. I didn't give a fake answer, I didn't ghost them, I gave the truth in a polite way. The response that I received was completely disrespectful and unprofessional. Saying I "used them" and how giving a quote was a complete waste of their time. There were many odifferent ways for them to be respectful about this. I highly recommend this company. I only contacted them the week before last and they were in and out in one day. The only reason they didn't come last week was because it rained most of the week, which is out of anyone's control. My husband and I truly appreciate the fact that they asked us what we wanted to to do with our dead tree trunk. My husband was hoping they would cut some of the trunk to make seats to sit around our campfire, and they had no problem helping us out with that! Mike came out to give us a quote for 10-12 trees to be removed from our front yard. While he was there he also took care of a downed branch for us. He was very personable. Until I followed up a week later and he said he would invoice me for the branch. To the tune of $500. Meanwhile, the other estimates were removed full trees with stump removal for $400-500 each. I felt $500 was exorbitant and retribution for not going with his company. But his full estimate was $4500 - other companies were $4000 and $3000. Once I paid the $500 Mike thanked me and blocked me from social media and also blocked my cell number - my teens noticed the color changed on the texts. Several people like this company, but I learned from other tree services that I'm not the only one to get screwed over by them. Take your chances if you decide to use them, and get several quotes because Hyperion came in the highest for us. I scheduled them to prune 4 trees and they showed up as promised. These trees were planted (baby trees) when my house was built back in 1995 and boy, have they grown up! I had low branches that needed to be removed, as well as upper branches that were at risk of striking my house and I just had a new roof installed 2 months ago. The crew was courteous and did an excellent job. They cleaned up all the branches and used a leaf blower to clean off the lawn, walkways, and even the curb. I highly recommend them -- I called 3 companies and Hyperion was the lowest cost -- one of the three never even called me back! I'm a repeat customer whose last customer experience was also exceptionally good. His employees are all experienced tree men who work as a team to complete the work. In my case, the job was complicated by the size of my ash tree and it's location adjacent to my neighbor's mature specimen plantings. When we have had other trees removed, we had to use two separate people for tree removal and stump grinding and the stump grinding people left a huge pile of wood chips behind. Although I originally asked for just 3 smaller trees to be removed, the list grew. Brutal experience with this company. They never get back you, no matter how much you try to contact them. Trees were done weeks after the agreed upon date for no reason whatsoever. The owner, or whoever Mike is, was very rude to both my wife and I and his guys didn't even clean up after themselves. I was told all debris would be removed offsite but they made no effort to cleanup at all. My yard is full of wood chips and stump grindings. After they cut parts of the tree down they threw them on the ground, leaving huge divots in my backyard. I would not recommend this company to anyone in need of tree work. read more
