Service is deplorable. Staff speeds through lawns ripping up grass, blowing mulch out of gardens into the lawn, steps on bushes and perennials, breaking them. Work is sloppy, they are not respectful nor do they care about residents personal property. read more

Don't want to have a clean car if these guys are cutting your neighbors grass! These guys show 0 respect to other peoples property, blowing all the grass and leaves on cars rather than on the street for some reason constantly. Every time my car is clean before you guys come. Then they attempt to clean it off, which I respect but putting really hot air from a gas leaf blower will fade the paint out and ruin it. I have to now go outside and put my car cover on every time you guys come service my neighbor. Show some respect. Simple. read more

As President of the Oak Hollow Condominium Association, I highly recommend Jim Dunphy's Landscaping. We have used Dunphy's for several years for our routine lawn service, landscaping enhancements (i.e. installation of new trees/flowers/shrubs) and snow removal. This year we were able to allocate funds towards the total refurbishment of both our main entrances into the development. Historically, Oak Hollow's entrances had ranked middle of the road in comparison to many of the wealthier communities within Kings Grant. However, thanks to Jim and his expert team, we are now seen as the crown jewel of the community! When first taking on a project this size, we met several times with Jim and discussed what we liked and what we didn't want. During several of the meetings Jim was astute enough to pick up on the term "eye catching" and "wow factor". We gave him a few ideas but essentially, we trusted him with this project based on the exceptional service we have received from him over the past several years. In addition to quality work, Dunphy's provides fair pricing as they came in under what we had budgeted. I hired Jim Dunphy's Landscaping (May 2023)to convert 2 large flower beds back into grass for easier maintenance. The scrubs were removed, but the weed block was left in place and the grass seeds were spread on top without top soil. I called them and Rob, nice guy, came out and wasn't pleased with the end result of the service. Another crew was sent out and hand threw soil in varies areas, not enough to be considered top soil, and reapplied grass seeds. I watered the newly sown grass seeds and still on grass in varies areas. I will never hired this company again for ANY services, #1, they are overpriced and #2, they do not stand by their work. 6 Sep 2023 James, This post, in my interaction with Dunphy's, represents my experience. No, the issue was not corrected after two encounters and yes I watered the "newly sown" seeds as directed. Seeds need soil to germinated and not be spread on top of a previously laid weed block that wasn't removed. I am giving two stars because they do actually cut grass when they say they will however, they dont do it how they say they will. After sorting out( i am skipping the first rude and bad customer service experience) that we wanted a bag used during grass cutting, due to making health issues worst, we assumed that would be that and service would be fine. We were wrong. Almost everytime i have had to remind them to place a bag on after they were already cutting the grass. Today, they did remember to bring the bag in my back yard but sadly left it at the entrance of my back yard while he went about cutting my yard. When i came out and asked them to put the bag on, the gentlemen proceeded to cut my grass all the way back to the bag(he had been far left of my yard and rode the back part down the right side to get back to the bag). Before putting it on and continuing cutting it There are inconsistencies in the way the cut and what they will cut. Lets assume We had been told they dont cut grass up to a certain point towards the house because its too close to the house and may damage the siding. Well then how come some of the grass close to siding has been cut and some have not? They also seem to have a issue knowing what to cut as this is the 2nd week they did not use a weed wacker to our stoney area read more

Called for estimate for grass cutting and Larry came out and said we do fertilizer, mulching and irrigation and asked if I wanted a quote for those services too. I said sure and was given the quote for all these items. The next day I called back to say I wanted to do just the grass cutting, which was the only reason I called in the first place. I was told that they could only cut my grass if I agreed to do all of the services Larry quoted prices for. I never heard of such a thing. They should have said they could not cut my grass when I called but I believe they dont so they can try and get you to agree to other services. What a fraud of a company. Would not recommend doing business with them as I would not trust them. read more

Dunphy's was recommended by my landscaper to do irrigation repairs. They came early in the season, went right to the problem areas and made the repairs. Top notch service at very reasonable rates. read more

Gave me a quote on one week. Not even a week later called to book services and was told they were booked for the season. Explained it was important to have someone come out because I needed grass cutting services for the summer due to my husband being deployed. Having two children no way could I accomplish that. No, No, No. Definition of landscaping: to improve the appearance of (an area of land, a highway, etc.), as by planting trees, shrubs, or grass, or altering the contours of the ground; to improve the landscape of. No sense of aesthetics, no "improving the appearance", no shaping of shrubs, lots of dead wood that I was left to contend with. Poor communication, at best, and I was auto-billed for a job that I still had questions/concerns about. No response to my follow-up concerns other than to say that they felt the work was "acceptable". Shame on them, as they are the landscapers for my over-55 community. One would think that they'd make a call, make an effort to address my concerns. Think twice. read more

Delanco NJ, July 2020: Had a great experience with Jim and his workers. They put in a sprinkler system and all went well. He matched another quote which was not far off. Jim is down to earth to work with, comes out after his workers do installation and spent much time explaining the control box. Came back a few times when I had questions with the controls. Bought grass seed from him after irragation system was put in, we now have a beautiful lawn. Highly recommended. The girls who answer the phones are very Knowledgeabl and nice to talk with. Also had a good experience working with Larry and landscape stones along the driveway. Very happy with all the work they did for us!! read more

I am so thrilled to say that Jim Dunphy's Landscaping is a top notch service provider. I was in desperate need of a drain to keep water in my yard out of my basement. The price was more than reasonable, and Larry even added a few line items to trim my hedges and weed, edge and mulch my beds. I wasn't looking forward to doing it myself. I'm glad he took the initiative because they look fantastic - all my neighbors are commenting. I was also happy with how quickly I could get on the schedule and have them also remove a concrete walkway that was in disrepair. They showed up in the morning and then left without doing the work. Left all of the equipment on my lawn and didn't return till after 6 o'clock at night to do the job. I called several times during the day and they said they were on their way but never showed up. they said they couldn't come back for at least another month to finish the job. read more

I can't say enough good things about this company! They were hired for yard clean up that included redefining all flower beds, pulling weeds, trim bushes and ornamental trees, and put down about 8 yards of mulch. I got three estimates for this job. Two of the estimates were close and one was ridiculously higher. We felt very comfortable with Larry and went with his company. The crew was professional, they really delivered high quality work and cleaned up our half acre yard beautifully. These guys are great. Needed thoughts and ideas on what to plant. Larry was awesome. Made great suggestions and I was very happy with the results. They have been out to do clean ups, (trimming, pruning, etc) mulching, planting, digging, all that sort of stuff. The team is quick, professional, and friendly.
