I decided to wait until my treatments were completed to write a fair and comprehensive review. It's…read moreextremely rare for me to give a 1 star review as I don't want to negatively affect a business but owner Annette said "we do very well" so I guess my review won't matter anyway. I had never even heard of HBOT (hyperbaric oxygen therapy) until seeing how it positively affected my brother in law. We found this location to be closest to us so we called but there was no answer. We thought that was very strange (this should have been a huge red flag) so we decided to go in person. We met Jen who was very nice and she explained how it works. The cost is $95/session, $270/3 sessions, $425/5 sessions, and $800/10 sessions. Hubby and I bought the 10 session package for $800 to start. Unfortunately the chamber was very uncomfortable for hubby and he just could not continue after a couple sessions. I ended up completing the 8 sessions and bought another 10 sessions as I had read it takes awhile to feel the effects. I don't have any medical issues for getting HBOT but after about 5 sessions I think I started feeling better in general, or maybe it was a placebo effect and I was trying to justify spending so much money for something I didn't even need. I don't think I'll ever know. Initially everything was fine but I started running into issues with this business. One time on a Friday I went for my session and the place was closed. I waited for 20 minutes and texted Jen but didn't receive a reply until Monday stating she thought her replacement Lisa had told me they would be closed that day. I told her no and she apologized about the misunderstanding so all good. I saw Lisa, Jen's replacement a few times when Jen was off. She was nice enough but one time she did not pressurize the chamber and I didn't even know while I was in there for an entire hour! What a waste of time. She then says well you did get oxygen. I told her I'm not paying $100/session to receive regular oxygen and she said she would make a note. Another time the pressure went off and their response was that happens when the chiropractor next door runs his machine? After my 15th session, Jen advised they'll be closed for a month as she was going on a very long trip. She said the owner was still recovering from her foot surgery and could not bear weight. I was not happy to hear about having a month lapse in treatment but I had no choice other than waiting to hear from them. I received a text from owner Annette 3 weeks later so I made the remaining 3 appointments online. I met Annette and she told me Jen had so many complements for me and hubby. I went for my 16th appointment last Thursday at 10AM and again the place was closed! I waited 10 minutes and text Annette but didn't receive a reply so I left. 20 minutes later she texts me saying her softwareis flip flopping between MST and PST? so I drove back at 11AM and Annette says at first her calendar stated my appt was at 10AM then it showed 11AM. I told her it was the second time I showed up for an appointment and they were closed. Her response was that she has no control over the software and never apologized. If the clients miss a session, they have to pay for the treatment yet there is no accountability at their end?? So unfair and ridiculous. I've NEVER EVER experienced a business being closed when I had an appointment! Get a different software for your business, train your employees right, and be there for your customers when they expect you to be there!! What a ridiculous way to run a business! No wonder I only saw 3 other clients there the entire 1.5 months I had gone there. I was always the only one there getting treatment. I rarely saw anyone before or after my treatments yet the owner says they do very well?? I'm just relieved I don't have to go back there. Huge lesson learned for me never to buy packages unless I am positive about the business.

I will say, they do have a good provider there named Mary. However, the hoops you have to jump through dealing with this horrific "customer service" make it completely not worth it. I can't even call it customer service at this point -- it's customer disservice. Hopefully, nobody has the unfortunate interaction with who I believe is named Christine, who sits behind the front partition. She was unbelievably rude. I honestly had to pinch myself because I felt like I was on an episode of Punk'd. I have never been treated that way by someone in a healthcare office. If you care about your health, value communication, or want to be treated like a human being instead of just another dollar sign, please do yourself a favor and find another clinic. Also, beware of them scheduling appointments without properly confirming them and then repeatedly trying to charge no-show fees. This seems to be her scam. It happened time and time again, and it's an absolutely disgusting business practice. At this rate, these guys won't be in business long.

The interaction felt misaligned. I clearly and repeatedly expressed my preference for talk therapy to address everyday stressors. Despite this, I was constantly directed toward medication management and ketamine therapy options, which I did not request or feel comfortable pursuing. Additionally, upon leaving the session, I observed that the entire interaction had been voice recorded without my knowledge or consent. After reviewing all documentation and consent forms within my patient portal, I found no indication that recording was part of the intake process, nor was this disclosed verbally during the session. Beware that clinical decisions will be made without comprehensive lab work or a detailed review of medical history. I was prescribed blood pressure medication despite my documented history of syncope. This seemed medically inappropriate and potentially unsafe (maybe im just not knowledgeable enough, who knows). I can imagine what prescribing ketamine sessions could do to someone without proper medical review. I hate leaving bad reviews, but this facility felt unsafe for those looking for long term options without the use or over prescription of pharmaceuticals or ketamine. THIS FACILITY DOES NOT DO ANY SORT OF THERAPY THAT DOES NOT INCLUDE RX OR KETAMINE.

I have not had any contact with their office since January 2025 nor have I received any bills or an EOB from my insurance company telling me I owe them money. They just randomly charged my card for $1500.00. Completely unacceptable.

They never told me my insurance hadn't approved it. They just had me come in, took my copay, did the procedure, and sent me on my way like everything was covered. Almost a full year later, December 29, 2025, I get a bill for $568.61. This is unethical billing. According to Ambetter's own policies, providers are required to "verify eligibility and benefits prior to rendering services" and obtain prior authorization as "a condition of payment." Skin and Cancer Institute's responsibility was to check if the biopsy required authorization BEFORE doing it, not bill me a year later when insurance denies the claim. If they had told me upfront that insurance wouldn't cover it, I could have: -Found a different dermatologist who could get it approved -Worked with my insurance to appeal -Decided whether to pay cash knowing the actual cost -Made an informed decision about my healthcare Instead, they blindsided me with a surprise bill 12 months after the fact. This practice is dishonest and puts profit over patients. Every other medical office I've dealt with gets authorization first or warns you if something isn't covered. Skin and Cancer Institute just does the procedure and sends you the bill when insurance denies it. If you're considering this practice, ask them upfront if they're getting prior authorization. Don't end up like me.
