Let me start by saying how much I despise needles!!! However, I was interested in getting a daith piercing (for quite some time now) & lately, I have been wanting to really get it done. I spontaneously went to Hydravolve Studios because I was nearby, it had good reviews online and I wanted to check out styles, prices, etc. I met with Shannon who was just finishing up with a client & happened to be available the remainder of that evening. She went over everything with me and showed me the earrings. It was way too plain for me and the only downfall - they don't have a good variety to choose from in stock. If you wan't rhinestones/more bling or a specific style, etc., you'll need to order it with her, wait for it to come in and then go back to get your piercing. With the fact that I have been contemplating getting this piercing done for a long time, I knew I was ready to get it done right then and there..but also wanted something with bling. Lucky for me, Shannon was able to find an earring with a "little" bling and told me it was available since the person who ordered it, after a month or so, never came back. I decided to go for it and so glad I did. I did tell Shannon to not show me the needle she was going to use or anything because I'd probably run out of the room lol Shannon was very informative; told me everything she was doing, step by step. She was very clean, very nice and super gentle. It happened so quickly with one deep breath. After she was done, she went over in detail on clean/care instructions. After researching local piercing places online I stumbled upon Hydravolve. The reviews were great and the website was very informative about services and the technicians that worked thier. I called to inquire about pricing/appointments and was given all the requested information and then some by Nick. I ended up going in a few days later to get my piercing. I was greeted immediately upon entering and told of my options based on the piercing I wanted. Overall Nick did a great job, explained everything to me before hand, showed me pictures of his previous work and made me feel at ease. Came in on a Tuesday evening to get a tattoo under my collar bone and I'm so glad I did (this is actually the second time I came in, the first time was more for inquiry). One of their piercers and a tattoo artist were sitting at the front when I walked in and they were both super friendly. I forgot the artists name, but it wasn't the owner. I told him I wanted a simple poppy and he had me getting tattooed within 30 minutes of me walking in. I have gotten 9 tattoos and this is one of the best experiences I've had. He was super professional and made sure I was comfortable. Prices are reasonable, too. They have an $80 minimum so that's how much he charged me since it only took about 35 minutes to finish the tattoo. I would definitely come back again! read more

Went back to get some piercings done and again had a great experience. Shannon is such a professional and made the whole process easy. She was quick to respond and able to fit me in her schedule right away. She took her time making sure everything was sterile and had such a calming demeanor that eased my nerves. I had a sternum dermal done at another piercing place, but the clear stone turned green. That particular place blamed me for this -- they said I must have used some type of lotion or perfume that changed the color of the stone. That particular place replaced the stone, which turned green again, even though I was careful to not put anything on it. It looked horrible. At that point I wanted to change the stone a third time. However, they refused to change the stone for me because they stopped doing dermals. So I went to a piercing place in Levittown, but it was screwed in too tight and he couldn't remove it. Thought I would try Hydravolve. The apprentice had trouble, but she called her boss (the owner) who was able to remove it pretty easily. From the beginning I could tell he knew what he was talking about. He explained to me that the stone changed color because I have hard water, not because of anything I did. Not only was he able to remove it and replace the stone, he didn't even charge me a penny. This was the best customer service I have ever experienced in my life. So professional. I will absolutely be returning to Hydravolve with any further piercings that I want. read more

My first ever body piercing and tattoo was done at Hydravolve Studios. For my first body piercing I got my belly done. Mark R. is an extremely nice guy. He was very sensitive to me since I was a newcomer. He took his time and talked with me, helped ease my anxiety. I ended up going back for a nose piercing too. My first tattoo, and all of my tattoos for that matter, were done by MJ. My first tattoo was done on my abdomen. I sent him an image of what I wanted done and he ended up redrawing it to make it a little different. I was very pleased with the idea that he didn't want to just do what someone else has done, but instead make it a little more personal. I remember he called on Mark to examine the placement of my abdomen tattoo prior to starting to make sure they were symmetrical. They truly put in a lot of effort, together, to make sure everything would be perfect. Each time I went to him for a new tattoo he was always very patient and took the time to ask me if I was pleased with the placement before starting. He would even offer me breaks if I needed one. Overall, I recommend this studio. I have only ever worked with Mark and MJ but I am confident that the other artists are just as talented and patient. Went here to get trags (tragii??) pierced earlier this summer. Mark is phenomenal!! I went with another friend who was also getting pierced and we probably took up about 2 hours of Mark's time. Mark was incredibly knowledgable...he explained each step, what to expect for the healing, and we discussed LATIN during my piercing! It was awesome to have some one to banter with while he was shoving uber sharp objects through one's skin. Mark walked us through the healing process, recommended saline spray for the piercings and above all was honest about everything. He told us H20 Ocean was what he preferred but honestly, all saline solutions did the same thing. I appreciated his dedication, his candor, and his intelligence. I highly recommend Mark as a piercer and once I use them for tats I'll let you know whether that recommendation extends over to MJ. Based on Mark and his dedication to his shop, I'm pretty sure I'll be leaving another glowing review for Hydravolve. Mark and MJ co-own this piercing//tattoo parlor. ive gotten ten (10) piercings from Mark and I would never go anywhere else. I fell in love with the man. Really, I did. He is so laid back, patient, "chill", etc. I used to go there just to "hang out" and leave with a new piercing. 1) he opens all his tools brand spankin new right in front of your eyes. 2) measure twice, pierce once. He makes precise piercings that are all even. 3) I trust this man with my body 100%. He NEVER makes mistakes with someone else's body, this is something that is unforgivable. Some other shops will just slap whatever you bring in on you without asking questions about what you were thinking, etc. He has given me 5 of my 6 tattoos and it's no coincidence that the 1 he didn't do is the worst one. Shannon did my daughter's septum piercing yesterday and she was awesome! We contacted her ahead of time, with some concerns, as my daughter is just a little over a year post-liver transplant. She's on immunosuppressants to prevent rejection, which makes her more susceptible to infection. Shannon wanted to be sure we had the okay from my daughter's doctors before she would agree - and asked us to bring a letter from her doctors, which I appreciated. She also wanted to confer with other piercers about possible precautions she should take, and she wants to follow up with my daughter frequently, to be sure she's healing properly, as my daughter is also on steroids, which cause slower healing. Shannon was so professional, explaining every step of the process as she went along. She wore a mask the entire time, washed her hands {no hand sanitizer} and changed her gloves multiple times during the process. The shop was extremely clean {a huge deal for me}, she took us right at the appointment time, and only charged for the jewelry, as the piercing was ever-so-slightly off-center and she didn't want to charge us for something she felt wasn't 100% perfect, which I also very much appreciated {although you can't really tell when you look at it and once she changes to a piece that's continuous, you won't know at all} . My daughter will definitely be back so Shannon can pierce her nose {and whatever else she decides to get pierced lol}. I highly recommend her for any piercing you need done! read more

I came here to get my navel repierced. The atmosphere of the studio is already relaxing and homey the second you walk in. At the time, I was a little unsure if I really wanted to pierce over my scar tissue because the first time I got it pierced, it became badly infected. But thankfully Mark realized that the reason this happened was because the ring the previous piercer used was too small for my belly button. He was so precise and measured my navel and made sure I was given the correct jewelry, so this infection wouldn't happen again! I was very impressed by his attention to detail and safety, and he was very easy to talk to and ask any questions to! i hadn't been pierced here (yet) but i had to call around and find a place in jersey that sold retainers for a short-notice medical procedure. (my regular place is in philly, and it would have been a pain to get there in the rush-hour traffic, not to mention the extra money for the bridge and parking) so jersey it had to be. mark is such a sweetheart! he custom made a pair of cheapo PTFE retainers and threw in a bunch of extra o-rings and didn't charge me a single cent! now that's some customer service if i ever saw it. he may have made me a convert. i'll definitely keep him in mind if i decide that i need more holes in my body. read more

I went to Hydrovolve because initially my ears were pierced too low 40 years ago, and I wanted them repierced higher. Mark took a lot of time measuring and taking into account my different sized earlobes and the fact I had other piercings in my ears that I had allowed to close. He did a great job figuring a way to balance the challenges I had and I am very pleased with the result. I live in Monmouth county, which is over an hour drive to this location. However, I'm staying in the area for two weeks for work. After years of wanting to get my nostril pierced, I woke up this morning and knew today was the day. I, of course, went on Yelp and saw this location listed as number, read the reviews and checked out their website and Instagram. I couldn't find any information on pricing so I gave them a call. The man on the phone answered my questions to the best of his ability and told me to call back when Mark, the piercer, arrived at 4 pm and he would answer all of my questions in depth. Instead I showed up and was greeted at the door and was asked to fill out the info sheet/waiver. When it was my turn, Mark asked me which jewelry I wanted and gave me the time I needed. Finally he took me to the room where we shared some stories as he unwrapped all of the instruments. He marked my nose with the sharpie twice, let me choose which location I wanted, and from there he explained to me the steps. I asked him a few more questions about the aftercare and then we proceeded with the piercing. After the piercing as over mark explained the after care process, gave me an info card with the after care explained and every possible way you could contact him for help, AND the marker they mark on your face! Mark was very calm and professional. His customer service was absolutely amazing and although I live very far from this location, I will come back to this shop for my body mod needs in the future.
