First we had a desk area built and for this 2nd project we had…read moreour old cherry kitchen cabinets painted, and soft close hinges put on all doors and drawers. We also had custom feet and endcaps made and a custom vent cover which will soon have a piece of brass added to the bottom. You absolutely can Not tell these cabinets were not factory painted. They are silky smooth and they didn't miss a single area. Worth every penny and so much cheaper than replacing everything which I simply could not afford. I love the color which is Benjamin Moore Sterling (lightened by 25%) At the last minute I was going to change my paint color and Danielle called me just to suggest that I experiment with a larger paint sample and to discuss the nuances of various grays with me. Thank goodness she called because a larger sample revealed a lot more blue and I would have been very disappointed. After our desk was build and painted I took a door to a local kitchen franchise to price check before I did the entire kitchen. They told me they could Not promise the same results because they didn't believe the door I brought them had been painted in shop and must have been factory ordered and I had been misled to believe it had been painted! Outrageous! So I went right back to Lewis Cabinetry! My husband fretted the entire time, unsure they would really look as good as our newly build desk area but he is a total believer now! Thanks again Lewis Cabinetry!

I had my kitchen cabinets refaced, a bar area upgraded with carpentry/painting and bathroom cabinets refinished and painted. Drawers were redone to support heavy weights of silverware and and cabinet doors to close automatically. He has a range of products and prices for every taste and pocketbook but the work itself and quality of everything used is uniformly top of the line. Before I knew about Lewis Cabinets, I had actually had an estimate from one of the big box stores. Thank goodness I checked out Lewis before deciding. It was a whole different level of craftsmanship and attention to detail...not to mention personalized design and service..... at a comparable price. Joel and Danielle are great communicators too. They excel at explaining issues and options that require decisions and provide excellent recommendations. They are open to designing things the way YOU want it. Finally Joel scheduled a day at the end to go over the whole project and inspect it with me. I had earlier noticed he was such a perfectionist that he would redo small things I hadn't even noticed. if you can get this company to work on your home, count yourself blessed. They are superb! And a pleasure to have in your house as they work.

For the past few years, my husband and I had talked about updating our 30-year-old kitchen, and I…read moredreaded it. From what I'd heard and read, this costly process often turned out to be a nightmare that yielded disappointing results. Instead, working with kitchen designer Emily Dolan at KitchenWorks (who was recommended by our contractor, Steve Spratt Improvements), was fun. And the results are more beautiful and functional than I had expected. She started by visiting our house to see our kitchen, and then she listened to what we wanted and what we wanted to get rid of with the remodel. She asked us detailed questions -- Do you use your microwave to re-heat or to cook? Could you use another pantry near the refrigerator for storage, or would you rather have more counter space? Have you thought of using tray dividers in the cupboards over the refrigerator to store your trays and cookie sheets? Based on our answers, she drew up several layouts for us to review. She willingly revised elements of the plan we settled on, and once the remodel was underway, she came by a few times to see that the installation was going smoothly. I never felt the clock ticking when I met with her, or rushed into a decision, or pushed to choose the most costly materials. She was even willing to look at the flooring samples I brought by to help me envision which would look best with the cabinets and countertop we had chosen. Now, we have a kitchen where everything we use has a place that makes sense, and just catching a glimpse of it from our living-room or den makes me smile. I wholeheartedly recommend working with Emily Dolan at KitchenWorks!

BUYER BEWARE -- A RESOUNDING THEME! Granite we had installed…read morein our basement bar area merely separated on the slab seam due to a faulty epoxy mix as did our outdoor bar area - common theme? The granite has separated and they NEVER came back to repair their own work! Since we didn't use the basement bar, but maybe twice a year, not a big deal. The repair for the basement bar has been requested since February 2016, requested again in June 2016, and about every 3-4 months since then! Growing rather TIRED of trying to get the repair complete since 2016, I made concerted effort to contact the owner, Patricia, at least a dozen times since July 2021 telephonically, text, and email. Messages left with staff NEVERgot back to Patricia or she was ignoring me. Every time you call about an issue, it appears to be forgotten by her or her staff. I finally had to stop in the showroom and found her there about a week ago. Patricia informed me that her staff had given me a message when they hadn't. I asked her if she wanted to check the phone record. Once again, I had to tell her what my issue was and she said she would take care of it. She stated she no longer does the installs, she subcontracts the install work. Our entire home has granite purchased from Elite from the time they first began growing their business. She has received at least 12 kitchen or bathroom installs from referrals given to her from my wife's business. When we began our relationship in 2008, she and her then husband stated, "If you ever have an issue, just contact us and we will take care of it!" Because they were new growing their business, we were understanding. However, it is no different today. ALWAYS an excuse for not getting a job done! I'm "out of office", "Can I reschedule?", "Not enough fabricators", "Not enough installers", "Forgot your appointment", "My car had to get repaired", etc. It's like a teacher asking the student where his/her homework is and the kid replies "my dog ate it"! Calling within less than an hour prior to the job to inform you they are not coming that day! They ask for measurements and pics and end up losing them! Completely UNACCEPTABLE! After calling her installer, she calls me back and states there will be a charge of $125. I guess this is what she considers "taking care of it"! I stated, "I am not paying for a faulty install repair". Patricia does not want to be responsible, she lacks attention to detail, she lacks business honesty and integrity, and does not understand how to run her business and take care of her customers I guess we'll have to get someone else to repair the work and job Patricia should have completed. Even though she may have a decent price, that is not all you need to know and have concerns about! Just know that if you decide to purchase, it most likely won't be satisfactory and you will spend an inordinate amount of time and other resources to get it correct!

Great work at very reasonable price. When comparison shopping I found…read moreElite to be in lower than other quotes. 2 things to keep in mind if you're getting new countertops... First, no other countertop place (I contacted 3 others) also did the backsplash tile work. They all referred me to a tile place/guy and I really preferred to only have to deal with 1 company. Second, no other installer would touch the sink. I either had to remove/re-install myself (I opted to keep my current porcelain sink) or call a plumber. But expense was included in Elite's quote (which would have cost me about another $500-600 for 2 plumber's visits). We did have minor SNAFU with the backsplash - the delivered tile was wrong, and I did not catch it until nearly half the job was done. But a phone call and a photo to Elite (Patricia) and they made it right with minimal hassle by removing what what put up, re-ordering and completing the job the following week. We had no problems with punctuality as other complained about in the Google Reviews. I'd definitely use them again and recommend them.

They didn't start construction until May 12, and it was difficult getting them pinned down on that date. They knew from the beginning we were wanting them to be finished before our vacation in June. They started strong with 3 workers the first day to get demo done in one day, but from that point on they never worked a full week and vary rarely worked a full day. Our project that was supposed to take 4 to 6 weeks took 3 months. Three of the most aggravating, frustrating months we have ever spent. The contractor didn't show up half of the time, and the work he did had to be redone many times. He didn't even know how to build the half wall for the shower, and we had to explain it to him. They wouldn't let us know when they weren't coming even though we asked time and time again so that we could let out our animals. They didn't obtain the County permit for construction, and that delayed everything. They always had an excuse for why they weren't working. We finally had to threaten to get a lawyer for breach of contract to get the work completed. Although the design looked good on paper, there wasn't enough detail to it to fully execute it properly. The plan for the closet was not detailed enough to show that the opening was only going to be 15" wide with the shelves as shown which would have been even narrower because the hangers extend outside of the closet. I could go on and on about the aggravation we have experienced over the last 3 months, and the extreme stress that this has put on our family. The end result is beautiful, but I hope the construction holds up.

We chose a competition that is calling us every step of the way.
