Wow! From the outside, Hyde Park Market, or the "flag store" as some locals call it, looks like an unassuming convenience store, but inside they have a huge selection. They carry almost anything you could imagine including a HUGE selection of beer - 6 packs, singles, large stout bottles, local brews, imports, domestics, you name it. While the food selection is not huge, mainly chips, snacks, candies, and ice creams, they do offer a surprisingly large selection of vegan options - Daiya frozen pizzas and desserts, Nadamoo ice creams, almond milks, non-diary creamers, Amy's frozen meals, oat milk canned coffees and more. While the interior set up is definitely a no thrills kind of place, it's a fun spot to wander around and find some interesting drinks and eats. Hidden gem for sure. This is my Disneyland. The beer selection is absolutely stellar. Yes, there's a markup, but at the same time, I really only use this place for two things: to get my hands on beer I can't find anywhere, and to discover new beers. Honestly, I'll pay $2-$3 more for a beer here than spending way more to drive to a microbrew in Dallas. It's the "I want it NOW tax." Rookie move: Do not buy the beers you can find commonplace in HEB or Whole Foods. You will pay more. Pro Tip: Use it for beer rarities and never eat the food. read more

Love this corner store/ gas station. I have a shell rewards card and this is the nearest shell station to get several pennies off a gallon. It's also a short walking distance from home so if I need to pick up some beer or wine without having to drive this is my go to. Also early on in the pandemic and during the great Texas snowstorm of 2021 this place was open and even had electricity! was able to get some necessary provisions without having to stand in the crazy lines at H‑E‑B. The only thing I wish they had was more dark chocolates. But they do have a good selection of ice creams by the pint. read more

Is it weird that I kind of like going to the gas station here? Okay, so I don't like how often I need to go to the gas station. I'd gladly hang a jolly roger or six from my car's antenna if they'd sponsor my adventures in amateur hooning. Honestly, though, this is a lovely store full of wonderful things. This place has a little bit of everything. Food, drinks, hardware, office supplies, candy, etc., etc., etc. I found varieties of Amy's soups that I didn't even know existed. They have local munchies from places like Tom's and the Green Cart. The beer selection is beyond extensive, and that they have build-your-own six packs if you'd like a variety pack. There's a great deal of cokes, teas, kombucha, wine, and other potable potables as well. There are cane sugar cokes I've never even heard of at this place. And the candy? They've got everything from the usual standbys to gourmet chocolate to sweets you thought were only available overseas. It's a bit jumbled up inside, but it's well worth the time to wander through every nook and cranny and marvel at the variety of stuff that you didn't know you needed in this little building. There's a 10-cent/gallon discount if you buy a certain amount of stuff inside--excluding alcohol, cigarettes and lottery tickets. The prices for gas are usually pretty reasonable, especially considering that it's a Shell in the middle of Hyde Park. They take all the usual credit cards--at the pump, too! Then again, I find myself walking inside for some tea anyway because it's a fabulous store and the staff couldn't be friendlier. I feel like the guys behind the counter get to know their regulars here. The pumps can get a bit busy (and mind the drop-off at the edge of the concrete!), so if you're going inside and it's packed, it's always a good idea to move your car and park in front or to the side so other folks can have a space to get gas. read more

Good for chocolate-lovers, coconut-ice-cream eaters, and beer connoisseurs. My husband's been coming here for ages to pick up good beer, and I was okay with it because he would buy me a little conciliatory gift of specialty chocolate when he'd guiltily spend over $20 on beer. They sell so many awesome, delicious chocolate brands here -- Vosges, Love, Toblerone, Justin's, etc. But what makes this place the best is that they sell coconut-milk ice cream in pints. The same brands you can find at Whole Foods or Central Market, but MORE FLAVORS. I'd go into WF and be disappointed that the only Purely Decadent brand coconut-milk ice cream flavors they'd have for sale were Amaretto and plain. BOO! GROSS! There are dozens of flavors here, the hard-to-find ones... cookies n cream, chocolate-chip cookie dough, mint chocolate-chip, chocolate peanut butter, and on and on. Cases of lactose-free ice creams, and not just Purely Decadent, but Nada Moo and So Delicious too. If you are lactose-intolerant and need ice cream periodically, this is the place to go to, hands-down! Also, they're open super late, so if you miss getting a shake or your vegan ice cream from Sweet Ritual (catty-corner from the Flag store, across the street inside Daily Juice) you can just come in here and take a pint home. read more

A quick grunt of acknowledgement is all I need from a gas station proprietor. But the family that runs Hyde Park Market goes above and beyond, smiling and being really friendly every single time I walk in. I admit, the main reason I come here is for the cheap gas. The largely organic and gourmet selection of goodies here is even pricier than Whole Foods, but I still have to respect a tiny convenience store for such an effort at providing quality products. They're extremely helpful, and my one complaint used to be that they didn't have an air pump, but they do now -- and it's free with a fill-up! And they'll turn it back on for you if you run out of time to fill your tires! I avoid most stations where they don't have a card-reader on the pump, but they're so pleasant here that it doesn't bug me at all to have to go in, hand them my card to get the pump turned on, go back out and pump my gas, and go back in to sign my receipt. read more

Its amazingly impressive for a corner store -- particularly since booze-giant Spec's carries less than that at 20 times the square footage. And yes, the wine selection is filthy too. Twisting breezeways are architecturally chiseled-out into shelved vino walls, much the way Disneyland does to mask the severity of the line for It's a Small World. Lined in glass butcher cases are Boar's Head meats and cheeses and to-go organic [read: veggie] quickies for lunch. Every non-alcoholic liquid ever created rests in the back coolers, and simple "dammit-gotta-run-to-the-store" conveniences like butter, sour cream, and fresh produce, neighbor that area. The tobacco selection is just as ridiculous -- from British imports to barrels of loose rollin' tabaccy. Sure, the prices are about a frog more expensive than your typical grocery store, but aside from the convenience, you are paying for the absurdity of how amazing Hyde Park Market is. In the spirit of giving thanks where it is justly due, I award HPM 5 golden, sparkly stars for propinquity, effort, hospitality, creativity, and selection. Location Location Location: minutes from my stairwell. What can I say? Effort: Arguably the most inexpensive gas prices you'll find anywhere north of downtown and south of Airport. That's a big claim, but I stand by it. Geniality: Smiles, pardons, thank you's all around, and behind, the counter. Creativity: A vast wine & beer selection is obvious your first step in the store, but HPM gives you some creative incentive: look by the cash register for a handful of collapsed six-pack carriers, fill 'er with singles of your choice, and you've got yourself a creation of variety. Go on with your bad self. Selection: Breakfast tacos, piping hot and waiting for me at the counter as I filled up one August morning. Unless you prefer Tzatziki, hummus & naan plate to go? Ok when I walked in last night, I was amazed at all the delights this little store had to offer. South Austin People soap?! Hell yes. And then I saw they had awesome selection of food. I was about to buy something until I saw the expiration dates. Some of that stuff is at least 3 to 4 months expired. Really?!?! Check the expiration dates before you buy food! Check them!! We picked up a sandwich that expired in April. Do not buy overpriced, expired food. As a proprietor of a store I would not haphazardly litter all my ice cream pints in my coolers.Please be smart. I know everything else is pretty cool, but honestly..why would anyone pay 4.99 for something that is 2 months expired? Are they banking on the fact that they can flimflam Hyde Park residents because they are A) nubile young students still naive to the world B) psychedelically mind altered and/or intoxicated or C) bedazzled by flags? This business sold me spoiled food. Later in the day I stopped to let them know that they are selling spoiled food and I wanted my money back. The gentleman behind the counter acted like this is my hobby, to go to stores and randomly complain for no good reason. Hey dude, I'm trying to give you some important information about your business. I don't care if I'm the first person in 5 years to complain about spoiled food from your store. I'm probably the only person in 5 years stubborn enough to actually come back and complain about it. The guy had every excuse in the book (a third party makes the food and not them, the health inspector comes 3 times a week, etc.) and would not acknowledge the fact that they sold me spoiled food. This was the final straw. Gas station with tons of personality. I mean, why can't every gas station be this much fun? Sure, the gas pumps are not as fancy as the ones in Chevron, but who cares? This place is just AMAZING in so many ways...lucky me that I live about 150 steps away. There are certain items here that I can't find even if I walk the extra 1/4 mile to Fresh Plus or even drive to CM or WF. You read correctly - this "gas station" has things that I can't even find at the Whole Foods mothership. For example - my girlfriend and I are in love with a specific Korbel Champage. Yes, Korbel, I know - not necessarily the holy grail of champagne. Nevertheless...we visited the Korbel winery while visiting the Russian River Valley last fall, and one of their special "wine club only" bottles was fabulous. We have looked EVERYWHERE in town for it - WF, CM, Twin Liquors, Spec's, etc. with no luck. We had given up on ever finding it outside of the winery, and to our amazement, we came across a number of bottles of it at Hyde Park Market. Made our day! This is just one example - there are so many other unique snacks, drinks and types of beer/wine that you would only expect to find at a giant grocery store. On top of the eclectic and vast selection, the owners/employees are always super helpful and kind, they make the whole experience even that much better. The only place in town that competes is the Whip In - they both have their strong points, but only one is close enough for me to walk to in shorts and flips flops when it's 40 degrees. read more

Oh hell. I blame Hyde Park Market for my chubby thighs. I'm gonna confess something: I have a serious addiction to Coolhaus. I crave those damn ice cream sandwiches like its my freakin' job, and since the trucks are a bit farther than I'd like to drive when the mood strikes (which is always), all I have to do is scoot on over to Duval and get my fix. Not so much into Coolhaus? Or, you're a normal person who purchases other things at gas stations/convenience stores... like GAS (or beer, or cigarettes -- don't be judging me for my unhealthy relationship with ice cream)? Well, they've got all that too. Beer selection ain't too shabby, though it definitely costs more than you'll spend elsewhere. Gas seems to be on the lower end from what I've noticed (that is, when I'm paying attention). Additionally, aside from Coolhaus, they have a plethora of other tasty treats, both frozen and not, and many are your Austin-y, locally-baked goods. I'm not gonna lie though; the only reason I go to Hyde Park Market is for the Coolhaus, and I thank the very kind gentleman who is ALWAYS working there for keeping the freezer stocked. I also refuse to take responsibility for what I stuff into my mouth and will continue to place blame elsewhere for my pudge. read more

Although I haven't completely perused (word of the day!! ahhhhhghhhh!) this place just yet, I did stop in the other day to grab a Hummus wrap on the go and a gallon of water. Why a gallon of water, you ask? Because they didn't have individual bottles to sell me. They have a million beers and wines to choose from, and gallons and 6 packs of water, but not a single bottle. So, I opted to go with the gallon and get my money's worth. What I didn't know is that the water I would be drinking over the next 5 minutes or so would be cancer water. I now have a chemically tasting gallon of water that I cannot drink, along with my hummus wrap that so stubbornly is getting stuck in my throat. I am not sure how this water became cancerous, but my guess is that it was in a very hot delivery truck for several hours before it landed on HPM's shelf. Besides the cancer water, the lady at the desk was nice and I'll probably go back someday to check out their seemingly endless wine selection. I love this place. I think I could end the review by simply saying this is the Toy Joy of convenience stores. You're either going to love it or you're simply not going to get it at all. Let's dispense with the complaints. Yes, it's overpriced compared to a large retailer like HEB or Spec's. It's a convenience store, what do you expect? You're paying for the fact that it's a small place, close to home, that you can get in and out of quickly. No, it's not as polished as some of the larger corporate owned stores you're used to seeing. It's a small mom and pop style operation in the middle of a neighborhood. Some people are really expecting too much. Now, let's talk about what they get right. One, they are constantly improving the store. When I first started going here, it was two simple pumps and the main draw was that they had the cheapest gas in town. Reliably, consistently (and it's still really cheap). Then they expanded the beer selection. Then they put in four pumps because the lines were so long. Then they became an actual Shell branded store. Now they're expanding the store and adding more refrigerators and more shelf space. I'm used to seeing stores like this just sit on their laurels and slowly go down over time, with maybe one or two half-assed remodels over time to address seriously glaring faults until the store finally goes bankrupt and someone else starts over. The beer selection really can't be beat, and it seems to expand every time I'm in there. Plus, where else can you mix and match your own six pack with such a selection of microbrews? No, it's not cheap, but it's not unreasonably priced either. There's also a fine selection of gourmet chocolates where most stores would just have Milky Ways and Hershey bars. Dig around and there's something unique and interesting around every corner. It's the only place I buy gas and I often go in just to talk to the shop owners. It's the best neighborhood store I've ever had in any of the various neighborhoods I've lived in. Here's the deal, point me to a better neighborhood convenience store in Hyde Park. I remember when this place was a crappy, ordinary store with gas pumps out front. That place closed, then the current owner moved in. I watched with interest as he covered the place with colorful flags and filled the store with lots and lots of wine... No Boone's Farm here, either, it was all good stuff. And then came the beer, a good variety of microbrews and hard-to-finds, and it just kept coming, more and more good beer. Their gas prices were the best in town even if their beer and wine prices were high, even if you did have to carry your card inside and sometimes wait in line for a gas pump... I couldn't find a reason not to adore these people, who are, by the way, some of the friendliest ever. They've evolved a bit since the early days. Now they are a Shell station, and they moved the gas pumps (not a fan of the new arrangement, since my car was hit and ru by someone backing out of a parking spot while sitting at the pumps on the east side), which now take credit cards. I still sometimes carry my card inside just so that I can visit with the folks inside. read more

This is everything you want in a corner store, and more. Cheap gas (consistently the lowest price around - so expect to wait in line for a pump), a HUGE selection of beer and wine - jaw-droppingly huge, an older couple always working the registers and smiling, and a complex maze of every kind of snack and treat you can imagine, from locally-made sandwiches and greek wraps, to imported chocolate and cigars. It was the middle of the night and my sister was in from out of town and they needed, of all things, velcro. She wanted to try Wal-Mart and i said, let's check the Flag Store and just see if they have it. They did - you want black velcro or white velcro, they've got both. The one thing i will say is, check the expiration dates. I've been burned once or twice for not looking, but i don't really fault the owners. They've got a tiny staff and enormous inventory, these things can easily get overlooked. Yeah, a package of Ramen's going to cost you a dollar, so if you're broke, go to the HEB a couple blocks over. But if you're looking for a wide selection of indian, vegan, asian or unique frozen snacks - HEB can't even compete with this place. They've recently begun another renovation and it looks like they're expanding the retail area even more, so expect to wander through some clutter. The staff was really polite, apologetic and helpful to me, though. They were out of the El Milagro chips (best ever!) and they steered me toward the Santitas instead. I didn't get what i was looking for but i left happy, which is really what matters. read more

The Flag Mart! I love this place. It's one of the more unique spots in Austin. They have EVERYTHING you could ever want: beer (huge selection), ice cream, incense, duct tape, bolt cutters, candy, candles, combination locks and pretty much anything else you try to find. I was sad to see the flags on the front the of the store come down due to a complaint from a person with a clearly unhappy, small existence. The flags were awesome and gave the place a lot of character. I hope the flags return soon. Overall, Hyde Park Market is the best. Go there. EDIT: The flags are back! Yay! read more

According to Ben Franklin, "Beer is living proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy." If this is true, then Hype Park Market will make you very very happy. They have a better beer selection here than anywhere else in town. More than Specs, more than Twin Liquors, more than HEB, more than Central Market, more than Juniors, more than, well, you get the picture. If you can get the beer legally in Texas, you can almost certainly get it here (there are a bunch of BS labeling issues with the Alcoholic Beverage Baptis..ERR Commission people that prevent a lot of great beers from getting in. The only beer that I haven't found here was Dues, which I was able to pick up at Central Market. (Expensive, yes. Delicious, yes) They also have a really cool feature where you can mix and match a ton of great beers into your dream six-pack. The only negative is that this service doesn't come cheap. Prices on non-mixed beers are also a bit on the high side, but I guess we need to remember that this is a convenience store. A good selection of other gourmet snacks, wine and misc crap as well. If you need beer, check this place out. The owner is really nice too, so if you can't find something, let him know and he'll likely order it if he can. read more

Ah my lovely local corner store... Two weeks ago i decided to rearrange my apartment, the last thing i moved was my desk and that's when i remembered that i had a phone cord the length of my arm, boo. To try and make this really short, it was after 9pm, i went to five, FIVE different stores from central to south including the massive HEB, Walgreens and CVS, all i wanted was a stupid phone cord that was longer than my arm and no one had it, i was in shock at the fact that they all had plenty of those springy phone cords for home phones that require you to sit and talk (Do people even use those anymore? why are they stocking them?) So when i was about to give up and make my way to wally world i decided to stop into Hyde park market, at this point i was thinking i had tried everywhere else, why not!? I found the phone cord of phone cords there, 100ft of phone cord goodness, it was way longer than my arm, it was $3.95, i was so relieved, thankful and happy that i didn't have to trek all the way to barf-mart at darktime. This place is a jewel. Like, that small ruby ring that belonged to your great grandmother that was all your great grandfather could afford. And yeah, it's a ruby and it's small and chipped and the silver is tarnished but it's been passed down to you and it's precious to you in so many ways you can't explain. I'm not really exaggerating. If you need organic brownie mix, a good price on gas for your car, gelato, 100+ kinds of different beer, fresh dolomas, wonder bread, a staple gun, a mango, contacts solution, condoms and Vosges Bacon Chocolate Bar....this is your place. First of all, poor show, Yelp, for not alerting me to the presence of this place. My boyfriend, too. He knew about this place because of their sweet mix-n-match gourmet 6-pack for $13 deal, but since I'm not a big beer drinker, he figured I "wouldn't be interested." BETRAYAL! Secondly, THIS is a gas station? I am impressed. Michael Pollan said that I should not be fueling my body at the same place I fuel my car, and I generally agree. But I don't think Michael Pollan has been to a gas station that offers organic groceries. Or about a thousand different kinds of beer. Or the new super-secret Ben and Jerry's flavors!! Or every kind of Theo and Vosges chocolate. Or Clif bars I've never seen before, or all kinds of healthy-ish (and not healthy-ish) frozen foods, including Rio's Brazilian and other local products, Amy's frozen meals, etc. I could go on. Yes, it is expensive, but for a neighborhood market, this is a pretty damn impressive selection. The store itself is labyrinthine. Beer literally lines the ENTIRE perimeter of the store. But every time I turned another corner, I found some new amazing thing and I had to hoot and holler for my boyfriend so I could tell him what I found. I haven't actually gotten around to purchasing gas from this gas station (don't drive that much), but I will definitely come here for my future snack and beer needs. read more

Really expensive interior, even for a gas station. I was drooling with anticipation when I saw their wall of microbrews! And then I saw the sign. $12 for a mix your own 6pack, with limits on most brands? A little out of my college budget. I was equally excited when I found a back corner tucked full of local Austin frozen foods. I was particularly excited by a frozen Spinach/Cheese Chimichanga thingy from a local retailer. I was even prepared to pay top dollar for it... and then I saw the expiration date. Several months ago. I put it back, and dug through the freezer, looking for one that wasn't bad. DONT COME HERE. So I was always curious about this place, and I ended up buying those cute flags you can put on your mirror in the car. The suction cup didn't work, and almost literally 30 seconds after I left, I came back and asked if I could switch. The man goes "I wish you didn't open it" as if it were my fault, and refused to switch it out. Or even give me a new suction cup. How on earth does anyone not open a product to test it????? The woman who helped me watched as this happened, and didn't help. I bought 3 flags, each over 5 dollars. This business has no integrity. If they aren't willing to put up with the expected cost of defective products, then get out of business. Don't come here. Every time I even think about buying Bud Light here I feel guilty, because they have possibly the greatest selection of beers in town. Serpentine rows of beers writhe off in strange directions far into the distance, more bottles than seems physically possible. Each new turn in the labyrinth (labeerinth?) reveals new hard-to-find gems, and even to exit the maze you're confronted with yet more sections of goodies - artisanal chocolates, wacky products, gourmet sandwiches, and the like. This place is too expensive to visit regularly (you're a fool if you buy Bud Light here), but if you're looking for an off-beat Dogfish Head vintage and nowhere else seems to have it, Hyde Park might be your best bet. read more

However, they have priced themselves out of being a frequent destination for me. There was a time when the prices were a little higher than average, and you knew you were getting the difference in selection, but now they're feeling a little gougy. I don't get why people still rave about this place. I will look at it from a beer buyers perspective. Yes, they have a large singles wall. Yes, they have a large selection of beer. Yes, they have been around for a long time. With that said, I think the high ratings come from not knowing better and people who have always shopped there in the past. They gouge on prices all the time. They do not know their beer and how long beer should be good for. You can find way out-of-date IPAs there all the time. You will be overcharged from similar stores (think other gas station/specialty stores that are NOT Central Market or Specs). When they try charging almost double for Prairie limited releases due to them being "rare" compared to other stores, you know the type of place you are dealing with. They will gouge customers because a beer is "rare"....they do not care about who they annoy. They survive based on people not knowing better. Every 6 pack in there is $2-3 more bucks than anywhere else in town. And people still will walk in and say how great it is. There are much better places. Please spend your money at a place that is not trying to screw their customers. read more

I've been here a lot! Mostly for gassing up, of which they don't have the ability for you to pay with your credit card---- hence the 4 stars. They would get SO much more business if they had that ability. But gas prices are the lowest in the area, so thats why I go. They also have a TON of stuff inside their store... almost too much if you ask me, its a bit overwhelming. I feel like every time I go in there there's a new rack with new stuff on it. But I guess that is like complaining that a pool has too much water in it. The family that runs it is pretty friendly, but can sometimes be a little socially awkward. One time I asked for $20 cash back, which it turns out they don't do, and she reacted to me like I was trying to scam her or something. Weird! read more

This place has all the beer! My 2 Beer Bros and I call this place Beer Mecca. Whip In, Spec's, Twin Liquors, and Sunrise Mini Market do too but where HPM surpasses them is in the amount of singles. I've seen 12oz bottles of stuff I've only seen in bombers elsewhere. This fact is what sets it apart from all those above Prices are a bit high(e.g. $18 for a Jester King bomber, $4-6 for most singles) which is the only downside. Can't comment on the six pack pricing. So, for making mixed sixers: this is the place. And friendly staff too! read more

This place has such an amazing selection of wine and beer! It's a bit more expensive than Spec's, but it's convenient and local. They offer choose-your-own six-packs. I get carded often, which is rather surprising because I'm on the far side of 21, and I'm here a lot. Recently they've changed their store layout and (maybe?) added some space. It's certainly easier to navigate. There were also two guys who offered to help us make a selection. Have they hired people to work the floor? There's a wide variety of other deliciousness in this place, but be warned: it's expensive. I spent $9 on a DiGiorno pizza once, because I was too lazy to drive the extra mile to HEB. (I also despise that HEB; see my review.) But the chocolate bacon bar is worth a few dollars. I do have a complaint with the name, though. Everyone I've met knows of this place as the "Flag Mart on Duval." I mean, there are flags all around the entrance. It's much more descriptive. So, I was walking down the aisle in this store and I opened one of the coolers, and oops, I just jizzed in my pants. I think it was a beergasm. I just jizzed in my pants again. Really, I talked to one of the workers there and he said they just basically ordered every beer from the distributor. They have a good frozen section here, but you have to walk to the back of the store. There is also a variety of other knick knacks, like the huge wrenches and stuff - not quite sure why they have those. Anyways, this place is awesome. read more

Just offsetting the bully that gave them one star for having "too much selection". How simple do you have to be to get mad about that. Sorry if you get overwhelmed too easily. I like how you have no problem operating the yelp review system but get easily frustrated when presented with too many choices at a food store. Maybe that's why you only give good ratings to sub-par pizza places. Go back to mommy and daddy's confort and warmth asshat, no one likes you. Anyway, this place is great. They have everything. If you've ever been to any major city in the northeast this is just modeled exactly like the delis there (NY,Philly, etc). Convenient, excellent selection, etc. Only downside is the absurd pricing. read more

For it's size Hyde Park Market is one of the most comprehensive C-Stores that I have ever been in. They have figured out how to get all the staple items in here plus an enormous beer selection and I mean enormous, as well as a nice wine selection. They recently added pay-at-the-pump service which means that not only do they usually have the lowest gas prices around, but you no longer have to prepay. They are currently going through a small renovation which looks like is making more room for stuff! Excellent. In addition to the great selection, Hyde Park Market also offers friendly service. "Mix match 6 packs of beer and cheap gas...well as cheap as fuel can be in this area" Gas is typically more reasonable at this station than others in this area. Also holy smokes have you seen their beer selection??? They have a surprisingly wide array of beers that you can make an awesome 6 pack out of. The only problem is I always seem to be getting gas here so early, the idea of beer doesn't cross my mind. it's a great afternoon stop, plus some good local Austin snacks in here. The only downside is the prices on indoor items. They're a little higher than grocery stores but worth the occasional drop in. read more

Hyde Park Market (Flag Store) is a great place to stop for gasoline. They also have an amazing selection of drinks, snacks, sandwiches, and other items. You will be surprised how they are able to stock so many different goods in a relatively small space. If you are looking for something unusual (birch beer; soda flavored like lemon meringue pie or bacon with syrup; etc), there is an excellent chance that you will find it here. I would give five stars for the gasoline part of the business and for the huge selection, but will take off a star for the often high prices on the food and beverage items. read more
