Disgusting dirty outdated. So disappointed and grossed out about the rooms. The showers had only curtains no glass doors. The TV was literally from 1999 with grainy pictures. It smelled and carpet filled with spots. Hyatt used to be a pretty good place to stay but the last few times we stayed there both in Hoffman Estates and Itasca very very very disappointing. At this point, you might call it a Holiday Inn. Will not stay here again and do not recommend. read more

Worst hotel experience I have had. Check in after a long day of driving and elevators have puddles of pool water and partyers with red cups moving floor to floor. My room preferences were ignored and my room shared a wall with the elevators. I could hear the constant erratic movement of the elevator cars. No wifi. Went to front desk and no other rooms were available. Known issue that the elevators interfere with the wifi and it doesn't work in that room. I had a meeting 6 time zones ahead and didn't feel like heading down to whatever they had for a business center at 3 AM. Refused the room. Was charged in full for the room. If you're looking for a pool party hotel, this may be a good option. Surprised it's still a Hyatt franchise. read more

I'll start with the good. The hotel itself was nice and the room was a good size for two people. I love that it had a mini fridge(being there for 7 days it was a necessity) and a separate room with a sofa/sleeper. The breakfast in the morning was good. It was a nice change from Door Dashing lunches and dinners. Michelle was super nice. She walked around every morning, when she was working, greeting the guess as they ate breakfast. There was another gentleman and I didn't catch his name. He was an Indian gentleman and was super nice and friendly. I did enjoy that they had a coffee bar there all day and night. Now for the bad. our room was not the cleanest that I've seen. Behind the bed was a lighter and a straw like pipe. The bathroom's exhaust fan was filthy and I had to wipe it off (picture included). The exhaust fan worked much better afterwards. The last thing is about one of the employees. I believe his name was Sam but I'm not 100% certain. If he's going to be the first face people see when they come in to that lobby, he needs to work on his personality. I honestly am not trying to be rude but this guy could barely squeak out a hello after you greet him with a hello. Our first night there, I went down to get a couple bottles of water. While he was on the phone with a customer, I was standing there talking with another guess while we waited for him to finish his call. He all of a sudden started waving us away like "I gotcha. Go away". That what I took from the gesture he gave us. I was disappointed with his attitude because everyone else was super friendly and approachable. Would I stay here again if I had to? Yes. Stayed here For three days me and my kids, For my oldest son Navy Boot Camp graduation. I must say that this hotel is overrated. On the day of my check in, I called in to get a connecting room which the receptionist reassured me I would get but upon going into the room, we realized that it weren't connected but face-to-face. Same night we were there we had a plumbing issue with our toilet and Was told by the receptionist that he didn't have the key to get into the Maintenance room therefore there wouldn't have someone to fix the toilet until the next morning. So he offered to change the room for me in which I accepted. TV has no more than 20 channels basic cable. There is a refrigerator in the rooms, but it is not cool. The furniture is outdated, beds are uncomfortable and carpets in the room had so many stains and weird smell. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone Especially not for the price I paid. The only thing good I would say is about the free breakfast buffet that they have every morning. There is many food choices and is served fresh and hot. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to a tourist or someone that is visiting Illinois for the first time. read more

So bad we didn't even stay. I cannot attest to what the rooms looked like for real. The pictures online were very nice but when we got there it was a different story. The pool was covered in mold and stunk. The hallways smelled strongly of cigarettes and wet dog. I by started to get a headache. I don't know how long ago their pictures were taken for the internet but it might have been 10 years ago. Not today that's for sure read more

As my familty and I entered the building, I was disappointed in what this hotel looked like. There were dining tables in the small lobby, which made us think that they were probably doing some renovations, but that was not the case. I thought that the staff member standing behind the counter was the cashier for the restaurant, but as it turned out, she was the front desk receptionist. The dining tables are used for the buffet breakfast and customers who would like to sit after ordering their drinks. The building is dated, but I had no problem with that. What I found to be a problem was that I started to have some wheezing on our first night at the place. My son also wheezed since both of us have a history of asthma. We had no respiratory distress for several months before our stay at the hotel. We figured the carpeting must have been the culprit since it looked like it could use deep cleaning. In addition, when I called the front desk (around 8:00 PM) to request for extra blankets, no one answered the phone. On the bright side, their breakfast buffet offered a variety of items, including hot food. The staff members were courteous and accommodating, especially Ms. Michelle (hotel manager). There were plenty of parking spaces, and it was close to different restaurants. They have coffee and hot water (with 3 types of tea bags) by the entrance. Although the place has its positive qualities, my family and I will most likely not return to this Hyatt Hotel. read more

POOL IS NOT WORKING - SEP 2023 Low rating because the pool was out of service the whole week I stayed here. The pool was the main reason I chose this hotel-- my nephew loves to swim. The pool is the main picture on the hotel website. How can it be "out of service" for an entire week ? I could see that it had water in it. When part of what you're paying for is not available, they should notify guests in advance and offer refunds. I called the hotel, and was told they were "waiting for parts" like it was my problem to expect them to have their advertised facilites working. I called the corporate number, and after a half an hour for them to look up my info... they just said they'd forward my complaint somewhere. Also.. the internet is sketchy.... so definitely don't stay here for business. read more

We had to stay at this Hyatt place for 4 nights n hoped for a good stay. Check in went well. Real nice guy. Room was nice n I gotta give props to housekeeping. They do a good thorough job. Except 1st night missing soap but rest they give to us n always made room presentable n clean. Only complaint was our tub 1st night was clogged but after calling them they came to fix next day while we were gone. Breakfast was tasty. Loved the color potatoes n cage free eggs they use. Oatmeal yum. Very comfortable stay. Quiet place. Plus I left my earrings by sink n it was still there at night. Ok I wrote this b4 the last night..we came back late and whole room wasn't cleaned:/ the 3 nights housekeeping was great what happened? Very disappointed bc we came back late n need to leave very early the next a.m. n really needed new towels n freshened up room. Esp this last night. We called down for new towels n toiletries n asked what happened. We needed to tt the manager bc this happened b4 on our trip at another hotel n its odd bc most trips we've never had housekeeping mishaps like this The night person said manager only comes in at 8am and she can give us only 1000pts. We had to leave b4 8am the next day. We grabbed breakfast and spoke to the morning staff which was so nice. She was so understanding n accommodating. Had a staycation exploring the suburbs. The room was good size with one king bed, and another room with 2 double beds. The king room comes with standing shower only while the a double beds room comes with a bath tub. We had both kinds of the room. I needed a bathtub doe the kids. April 2021 (Covid-19) We thought the pool reservation was limited to one room only, per hour blocks. I guess it was miscommunication with the hotel when we were on the phone prior to our arrival. The limit was 20 people per pool- per receptionist, although I found later the sign said limit to 12 people. There was no one to enforce this rule because at one point, there were 2, 2, 4, 6 people, and a group of 8 arrived. The pool was quite dirty and didn't look like it was maintained. We used the pool less than 30 minutes., although it was really the main reason of us booking. Other than that, the stay was nice. There is breakfast available from 6:30-8:30am, with Starbucks (in a portable dispenser) coffee. Receptionist were super nice. Easy to find next to a hotel exit. read more

This place is disgusting. Stayed here while visiting for a family wedding. Even after calling and asking 5 different times since 7am, we couldn't get anyone to come do basic housekeeping in our room. Bathroom had weird green lighting and was awkwardly set up with the door being hard to shut once you get in there. Barely any space in the bathroom. The TV remote barely worked and was sticky. TV was staticky and had very limited channels. WiFi was barely working. The hotel in general smelled like hospital. The bed was very uncomfortable as well. Breakfast had very limited choices and dirty plates and bowls to eat from. The plates were sticky as well. The eggs were cold and wet. The food tasted old and stale. Great service- shoutout to Aspen! She was so nice and managed to get my party and I rooms all on the same floor. The rooms were spotless and spacious. They have 24/7 food service- you can order food as well as drinks from. The bar and pick them up in the first floor lobby. The only complaint I have was that the elevator was down for about two days. My experience was absolutely positive and if I'm ever in the area again I will definitely book again. read more

This place could easily be a 5 star stay if it was not for one employee. More on that in a minute.. over all the staff was great! It was a super busy weekend with a huge cheer competition in town. The rooms were nice and very clean. How ever that one employee lol. Right after check in I went to the elevator to go up to our room and I hit the elevator button! He then scolded me and told me I should not be hitting the elevator button if I'm not planing on getting on the elevator! I thought he was joking at first but he was not. I informed him that I in fact will be taking the elevator to the 6 floor. And I told me he was just making sure lol then after a full weekend of hanging out at the pool with lots of people with glass bottles and food and no one caring. Then this happened lol. It was 910 pm local time in Chicago when the Hyatt night handyman walked into the pool where we had been hanging out and celebrating Victoria's gotcha day! He was appalled that it was past 9 pm and there were kids still in the pool. Then he noticed the food!!! Oh the horror on his face when he saw food and drinks in the pool area!! he absolutely was at a lose for words and then scolded us for not reading pool rule number 8 and on top of that it was past 9PM!! He demanded we clean up the area before outside Critters got in and forced them to close the pool down!! He then sent us back to our rooms in shame!! From the very beginning, Bree was prompt and thorough, providing constant communication, help when needed, and a great rate for our group. They even set up free shuttle service for our party to get to the wedding. The week of the wedding, a new sales coordinator took over and she didn't miss a beat. Mariana was great about making sure all of our details were confirmed and that our experience was seamless. The hotel itself was a great match for the group. Plenty of space in the rooms for families, free parking and free breakfast that was actually good. The staff was always friendly and available to help. I'm so glad we chose this Hyatt place. The property is clean and maintained, the rooms big. They have complimentary breakfast, as well as dining options throughout the day and a bar in the lobby. I recently stayed at this Hyatt Place for company travel. We hosted a training event here and then stayed here for the evening before heading out to Phoenix. Overall, the hotel was clean and the staff were all very friendly. The rooms were great and had all of the usual amenities. If I had it to do again, I would probably choose a place closer to Midway or just fly out of O'hare as we basically had to drive past one airport to get to the other in the morning. read more

So we've been to this hotel before and never experienced anything like this. Possibly because we were on the first floor. But We most be on a floor with teens and parties because that's how it's been since we checked in. So the first four nights it was people coming in and out of their rooms to party in another room and it woke up me and my toddler up each night. Than the window was leaking from the rain and the floor was wet all the way to the bed. So we told the front desk. They had someone look at it and that was basically it. I was hoping the would move us. On the fifth day someone came on the floor that's been smoking weed and the hallway smelled but it was hard coming in and out so we basically tried to stay in the room and watch the rain leak on the window and on the sixth day the room started to smell weird. So our trip was extended and we are checking out tomorrow and going somewhere else for the duration of the trip. It's been an interesting time to say the least. read more

omg, this place is terrible, i will explain. we were on the 6th floor, we didn't get wifi, one bar. so, they moved us. loud whining sound from the elevator, 24/7 . has a small sink area, with a coffee pot, but no microwave. they want 10$ a day if we want one in the room. the bathrooms are small. I'm not joking. ever go to a bathroom somewhere and you go into a stall, and you have to twist, and turn in behind the door, just so you can shut the door, well that's what its like. they have no food other than some snakes at the front desk .. and its expensive. there's no washers or dryers. they want you to use an expensive laundry /drycleaner service off sight, and the price for one t-shirt is $4.00, as an example. that's what it would cost me to wash, and dry one full load .and we will be here 25 days. wtf? the breakfast area is very small, (not joking) there was a Croud of people this morning just trying to get in for food. maybe a 20x20 area. the seating area is old and outdated, and right at the front door, and wrapped, around the whole front of the entrance. there's no charm ..and people are coming and going, lots of noise, and traffic for just wanting some peace and quiet while eating , and there's no comfortable seating area to lounge, watch the game, socialize, visit with family while lounging,(in a private area) SURES THERE A LITTLE WAITING AREA ,but I'm talking about a lounge area, not in the open, were ppl , kids are going through, a quit place... there's no restaurant, just a seating area to sit if you want a drink. in the bright open, there's only coffee til 10 am. what about for late arriving guest? AND, the office chairs in the rooms are old, and worn out, not comfortable. they need to be replaced. probably as old as the building. so my final thought? i give this pace a 4 out of 10...would i stay here again. ? no,.. would i recommend to a friend? ..... yeah, if i hated them . this place gets one star from me. btw, the last place we were at, DID HAVE 6 WASHERS, AND 6 DRYERS, AT A DECENT PRICE.$2.50 to wash,$2.50 to dry dry, right near the front desk. read more

All of our guests had issues and so did we. They have very poor customer service. The beds are not comfortable and the rooms are awkwardly shaped. Avoid if you can. I want to give this place five stars, but the head of Housekeeping was quite rude, when I went to park my car in the lot in the morning. I was backing my car in after a run and I guess I took her spot, because I received the nastiest look and she pulled her car in taking up two spots. My family and I have stayed here for two long stays over the pass three years and we usually, receive outstanding service. Everyone else is nice and it is a great hotel, pool and location. The breakfast is ok and starts at 7:00 a.m., but it is a hit or miss with what they serve. I appreciate the nice staff, but the head of housekeeping helped this hotel lose a star. read more

I Love Love LOVE this hotel for when I'm traveling for work. A lot of times my company sends people to the Marriott, but not only is Hyatt Place closer, it's more cozy too... I don't like a lot of frills, and I like to save my company $ since I'm a new traveler. The rooms aren't gigantic, but they don't need to be for business travel. The service is always top notch, the meticulous cleaning staff do a great job, and it's just a safe, quiet, and friendly place to stay. I love the complementary breakfasts - since I have a meal allowance when traveling, that enables me to get my normal Starbucks too! (Which brings me to my only complaint - at breakfast, the only coffee is SBC medium-roast... maybe you Chicago types like your coffee weak and transparent... Dunkin Donuts LOL... but I'm from Seattle and I like my coffee like I like my Death Stars... on the dark side and strong enough to destroy a planet! Glad there's a Starbucks close, but I'd love to see some variety in brews downstairs in the morning, for us bolder types) Thanks for being my favorite hotel in the area, Hyatt Place! I was really impressed with my stay here this past weekend. It seems like Hyatt Place has listened to travelers and incorporated many of their "wants" into the design and feel of their rooms. I was impressed. The staff that I encountered here were very friendly and handling a large group from the wedding that I attended. The room was surprisingly very spacious...however, the bathroom was tiny. The big TV with connections for laptop and stereo was pretty cool- however I didn't use it. One of the other nice perks was their free shuttle. I'll stay at Hyatt Place again in the future! read more

I was here for a wedding that took place at the Seville. Even though it was five minutes from the celebration, and the staff made sure that we had shuttles to dinners and such, I would have rather stayed downtown. The location in terms of things to do was dreadful. A five lane highway entrance in the front and IHOP and Chili's in the back. A suburban wasteland. You need a car to get anywhere. As I said above, they do have a shuttle van, but it's only for places within a 3 mile radius. My room was huge, clean, and at $75 per night for a wedding party rate, cheap for what it is. However, I paid $40 before tip rate for a taxi to and from O'Hare! I had two double beds, a loungy couch area, and a kitchen sink. Rate included a free wifi and continental breakfast. Fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, etc. Not bad. The hotel had an indoor pool as well. The staff was helpful and friendly. Stay downtown. read more

I love the concept. They took a boutique hotel feel and layered it on a Courtyard Marriott hotel. Here are some highlights: The lobby is made to feel like a cafe so you can enjoy your breakfast wherever you want. We went both mornings and enjoyed the standard Continental breakfast. The "Gallery Hosts" were helpful and accommodate our requests (extra crib, toothbrush, extra blankets). The rooms were awesome. They gave you a tiny closet, but loaded it up with an open feel. It looks like a nice studio apartment versus a hotel room. The TV is awesome and the living room area was huge. This was my first Hyatt Place experience and it's definitely a step up from a Courtyard type of hotel. read more

My boyfriend and I stayed here for four nights while in town for school. We both agreed that we will not be staying here again. Prior to checking in, I had two requests: an early check in and to have a room away from the elevators. Although I was able to check in early as requested through the Hyatt app, the room we had was directly across from the elevator. Pros: Free parking and complimentary breakfast from 7AM-10 AM which was convenient Cons: We found a used bar soap and wrapper in the shower on the day we checked in, the WiFi was spotty and not reliable, the water pressure was not strong at all, there was an annoying high pitched buzzing sound coming from the charging stand at the bedside when you plugged something in, and the bathroom was so tiny that it was difficult to close the door when you were in there due to its close proximity to the toilet. In addition, the walls were super thin so we heard everything throughout the night. At one point, we both had to use ear plugs just to get a good nights rest. Our main issue was with housekeeping. They were very inconsistent with cleaning our room at a timely fashion. On the first day, my boyfriend dropped me off at school early in the morning while he went shopping. He came back to our room at 4 PM only to find that it was still not clean. He called the front desk to inquire about our room and someone at the front desk told him that housekeeping had until 5:30 PM to clean the room. We both felt that it was ridiculous and unrealistic that they have until later in the afternoon to clean the room. Considering that it was already 4 PM, and my boyfriend was back from running errands, there was no point to have them come by. So instead, he requested fresh towels. My boyfriend brought it up to the manager that next AM and she apologized for the inconvenience and told him to call the front desk to let them know when we leave so that housekeeping knows when to come by to clean the room. The next two days, housekeeping came and cleaned the room either later in the morning around 11 AM or early afternoon around 1-2 PM. The times were very unpredictable. Then, on the day we were suppose to check out, housekeeping wakes us up around 8 AM by knocking on our door to see when she can clean the room. It was very surprising how the day we were suppose to check out is the day that they actually came early to clean. Overall, we were not happy with this hotel. Customer service was very inconsistent as well. There were days that the people at the front desk and housekeeping would not even glance in our direction when we walked by. On the last day we checked out, no one was even at the front desk to even bring up our concerns while staying here. So instead, I used the express check out I received via email because I did not want to waste my time anymore with this hotel. Although this place was cheaper than other hotels in the area, it is definitely not worth staying at. read more

I ordinarily stay at Hampton Inns, but there was a shortage of last-minute double/queen beds in the Schaumburg area so we ended up here instead. All I can say is "eh." Wifi means slow connections and "free" in this case means extra slow. The connections to the TV were a nice touch; you can bring a DVD player and skip the pay-per-view altogether. The downsides were primarily in the details, a vague sort of cheapness that I can't really describe. We saw ants and a hint of dirt/grime/mold in the corners of the bathroom, and the toilet didn't flush properly. Just, eh. It looks better on the outside than your typical $100/night place (that wasn't a conference rate, but what rather we got from the website,) but for someone from my part of the country it was just on the wrong side of "ripoff." Having said that, the pool, fitness area, continental breakfast, and parking area are totally adequate. read more
