The Comfort Inn - Hoffman Estates is in a great and convenient location northwest of Chicago, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the staff are very good. The hot breakfast (included in the room rate) is also very good and much appreciated. Pedro, the front desk manager, is particularly helpful, friendly, and professional. He always had a hearty and sincere greeting for me, and unfailingly assisted with any questions/requests I had to my complete satisfaction. Great job, Pedro. Thank you. Thank you, Comfort Inn. Highly recommended. read more

Absolutely unacceptable experience. We were turned away because our dogs were 10 pounds over the weight limit even though I had called ahead to confirm that pets were allowed before booking. They refused both a refund and accommodation. This is dishonest and extremely poor customer service. I would strongly recommend avoiding this place. read more

The manager is beyond rude . I had prepaid my stay and at 1 am when we check in he tells me kids over 12 have to pay and he charged me an extra person charge ... he shows me a self made print out of the charge. I have never been spoken so disrespectfully before . I have been told multiple times they will be refunding this and nothing ! The rooms are moldy and the place is dirty . read more

My flight was canceled, and Delta put me up here. This is one of the worst experiences I've ever had. I had to wait 20 minutes for them to bring g me a remote. When I went back and offered to get it myself, the clerk caught an attitude. The room is small, nasty, and in bad need of a major overhaul. Not to mention, when I arrived, there appeared to be unsavory characters standing around out front. Thank God this was only for one night. Don't try to offer me points or incentives because I don't want them. I do not recommend staying here. If I could give less than 1 star, I would. read more

Definitely avoid this place even if you are desperate for a place to lay your head. From the rude staff at the front desk to the filthy rooms there was nothing positive about out my stay here. If you are a choice rewards member drive the 5 miles to Schaumburg Comfort Suites and the hotel staff and rooms are 5 stars read more

I love this place. Steps from Starbucks, great shower, large tv, comfy beds, fridge and microwave. Yes I would love a larger bathroom but they get a pass because their price is so reasonable. Friendly staff too, especially when we locked ourselves out a 1:30 am. read more

Do not stay here! Horrible water pressure, rude staff, bottom floor window doesn't lock. Zero compensation by the manager. Only acceptable if you are passing through and only plan to sleep for a few hours. Take caution!!!! read more

Made a reservation with my free points. Called ahead of time to see if I could check in early. The front desk lady said sure..$25. Ok. It is what it is. Then I come in at 12:30. She said they don't have any rooms and that I didn't call ahead of time. I showed her on my phone. Now she doesn't want to give me my points back. Completely rude and unacceptable. Don't stay here if you can. I'd stayed here before with no issues. I can't recommend this place. read more

I wish I could give less than one star. I say as a human having to travel some during COVID and therefore very specific about what is and is not being followed, as well as the helpfulness of the staff, so please know this is for the TRAVELLER: DO NOT STAY HERE. it is under construction and the halls are covered in dust and debris, as well as the workers ARE NOT MASKED. the front desk has a plexiglass shield "protecting" the clerk who is NOT MASKED and to contact them, you have to pick up the non sterilized phone to call them. So the disease threat is on YOU to get someone to help you. Want some hand sanitizer? It's BROKEN. Then the closest door to the outside from our room is UNARMED so anyone can come in, and the sprinklers in the hall are taped and wrapped in plastic preventing ANY FIRE-DETECTION. I WISH IT ENDED THERE! When we went to ask about the debris for our dog, we were actually laughed at. When I asked about the door, he told me to come thru the main door. I told him it WASN'T ME COMING IN THAT I WAS WORRIED ABOUT! We saw the lack of safety and/or care and /or standards or empathy and asked for a refund and were denied. We will pursue that through Choice Hotels of course, but really, holiday travelers looking for a deal THIS IS NOT YOUR PLACE. REALLY. read more

I spent a night at the hotel on one of my travels. It was a shock to find a used condom wrapper in the bedsheet fold. I promptly called the attention of the front desk to it. But when he turned up about 30 minutes later with the Manager, rather than showing understanding and regret, the Manager argued that it could not possibly have happened, which in essence meant he was insinuating I planted it. The whole episode could not have been any more offensive. The all round service delivery was atrocious. I could not wait to leave the following morning. read more

I was wrongfully accused of smoking in the room at this hotel and they charged us $100! All of a sudden there was a $100 charge on our credit card and when we called to question the charge they said that the room smelled of smoke. I am a smoker & DID NOT smoke in the room! I went outside to smoke and used an ecig that does not put out any smoke at all. I don't know if it was on my coat & clothes & that's why they smelled smoke but I am being called a liar. First I was told that the GM went in the room when we left, now I'm told the GM is on vacation until February and that he left on 12/31....we checked out on 1/1. These people are rude, ignoring the situation and calling me a liar. Talk about discrimination! I have a formal complaint with Choice Hotels and they tell me that it is the hotel mgr that has to make the decision to refund the money. This is not a "quality" hotel run by "quality" people. I will fight this with whoever I need to. DO NOT STAY HERE!!! read more

Inattentive and especially rude staff, outdated decor, wallpaper peeling from the room. Sometimes you luck into a deal. Not so much with this hotel. Do yourself a favor and pay a little more for a better experience! read more

Stayed the weekend here with my boyfriend. Room was clean, very comfortable, great customer service, especially Pedro. I would stay there again, very pleasant experience. read more

Breakfast was probably the only good thing about this hotel. The hotel itself is a danger to customers staying. We took the stairs, the elevator was old, dark and would lag. Our bedroom was decent, except for the fact the bathroom door wouldn't latch or lock. The exterior was literally falling apart and they had 2x4's holding the structure, right over the back door may I add, not blocked off or anything. Not even a warning. Not only that, but also my bank called notifying me that they had blocked my card for suspicious activity. For FIVE different charges from a Quality Inn in Illinois that weren't even relatively close to the amount we needed to pay for 3 nights (I mean hundreds of dollars). Luckily they blocked our card after our payment for the actual nights we were staying there went through. I wouldn't recommend to friends or family. read more

Will definitely use this hotel when we are in the area! This is our 3rd time staying here and they are consistently a 5 stars! Whatever you guys are doing to turn the hotel around it's working!! Good staff, clean, close to stores. I believe it's family ran. The eggs were better than any other quality inn I have been at.

Buyer beware! When I first arrived I was instructed to call manager. He answered phone and said he would be right there. He finally came out of elevator. I told him my name and he said to give him ID. I complied. I then looked around and noticed all the dust and debris so I asked what was going on. He immediately got upset with me and said he was not serving breakfast. I grew concerned because my issue was not breakfast it was how the place looked and was it inhabitable so I asked to see the room. He refused, said I seem upset because there was no breakfast. I redirected him several times to the issue which was may i see the room to see if it was habitable. He got on the phone, said he needed to check to make sure room was clean then he started talking to someone on the other end telling them I was upset because they did not have breakfast. I asked him to please tell the truth. I want to see the room to see if it is habitable because i feel he is breaching the contract. I paid in advance. The police came. I explained my story. He tried to lie again and say due to COVID there was no breakfast. I redirected him again to my grievance by saying how shocked I was at the appearance of the establishment and would like to see the room to male sure that the room i already purchased was habitable to sleep in. He refused again, leading me to believe that he is not telling customers about the renovation, charging them regular price with breakfast included and breaching the contract when they arrive then calling police and refusing service if they have concerns or questions. This type of service during COVID shows lack of integrity and trust. Buyer beware!! read more

Great place to rest! Staff are amazing! Breakfast great selection! Will stay again when we are in the area!

Stayed for four nights on a recent trip to the Chicago area. Room was clean and quiet. Hot breakfast had many choices. All staff very friendly and helpful. For a moderately priced place to stay, I would recommend it. read more

Dirty. Smells as soon as you walk in. Staff is rude and unaccommodating. With all the options in this area, I recommend staying literally ANYWHERE else! read more

Though our stay was paid for by another family member (as part of our debt-free wedding!), we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the hotel (no pun intended) and the owner. He was more than amused at how my wife and I were somewhat over-dressed for a Saturday night, and we had a pleasant conversation with him. Upon learning that it was the first night as a married couple, he upgraded our standard room into their best suite available. We won't say it was the Ritz since it was marginally better than one of their standard rooms -- larger for sure, with a fridge and microwave, and a few other amenities that might have served us better had we stayed longer than a single night. But it was clean, the bed was comfortable and we slept well, the morning breakfast was satisfying. And more importantly, the staff was friendly and very willing to do this extra bit of courtesy at no charge. Thank you so much! read more

Low quality service. Came here for a conference and staff at desk were just unwelcoming and very unfriendly. There were at least 50 attendees from our conference staying in the hotel and they were adamant about not letting us use the shuttle to go back and forth so we had to walk to a nearby hotel and thankfully they allowed us to hop on their shuttle even though we weren't their guests. Won't be back. read more
