Fried chicken from the Placery $16.95
    Jerry W.

Lobby/Common Area Clean and clear mostly throughout my stay.  There were a few times that a bottle or can was sitting on a table for a few hours. Outside perimeter and parking area is clean and well kept. Staff Front Desk Staff is personable and friendly.  Always saying "good morning" or "good afternoon" when they see you.  Really helpful in answering questions. Housekeeping Staff is not friendly... no greetings at all. Food Staff is friendly and willing to assist with recommendations; clean up constantly and made sure all stations are stocked. Shuttle Driver: I am not sure of his name, but he is Hawaiian; really friendly and helpful.   Room 324 Bed lamp closest to the window was unplugged, so USB ports did not work.  Had to re-plug in power. All visible surfaces have been dusted, however the tops of the wardrobe, TV, picture frame, mirror and AC intake have not been dusted. Coffee maker missing the tray where you put the coffee in. The curtain chains are not set up correctly.  The chain does not allow the blackout nor the privacy shade to retract fully. Food  Breakfast #1 Scrambled eggs, hash browns, thin bacon and pancakes... they have oat milk as a milk substitute.  Breakfast #2 Scrambled eggs, potatoes, thin crispy bacon and belgian waffles. Breakfast #3 Scrambled eggs, hash browns, sausage links and pancakes Breakfast staple: oatmeal; boiled eggs; cut fruit; assorted breads and toast The Placery: This is a bar/cafe where you can order food.  I had the Fried Chicken ($16.95) you get 4 pieces of crispy fried chicken; a large amount of fries and a tiny container of coleslaw.... it was slightly less than a shot glass worth of coleslaw.  The bartender (Mariah) took my order and she was wonderful and personable.  She recommended the fried chicken and it was delicious.  There was light batter, but it had sweet notes to it... Thumbs Up for this. Gym/Pool 2 Gender Neutral Bathrooms next to the Fitness Center and Pool have showers.  Really Nice and clean pool and hot tub.  Plenty of towels available. The Fitness Center is right next to the pool.  Really clean with ample space between machines.  There is water on demand from a dispenser. Guest Laundry Located on the 4th floor to the right of the elevators.  2 washer /2 dryers and 1 commercial dryer.  The washer and normal dryer costs $2 each.  Machines only accept quarters.  Front desk has change available. Ice makers Located on the 2nd and 4th floors in the elevator lobby. Guest Elevators 2 available.  The doors in both elevators take about 7 seconds to begin closing.  You will need to press the door close button to speed this up.   The hand sanitizer on the ground floor was out of batteries for my stay.

Clean spacious spotless and big sized rooms. I believe the hotel is only 4 years old. The staff is polite, friendly and care about the guests. My flight got switched and I had to catch a much earlier flight. I asked them if I could possibly do an earlier check in. I even offered to pay but they said no, we just don't have any rooms right now. One hour later, they got a room and let me check earlier. The complementary breakfast is good quality fresh foods. You have sausages, crisp hash brown, French toast, cereal, oatmeal and everything for a hearty breakfast! The only small critique is I wish they had a safe in every room. Very strange that they don't! There is a fitness center and an indoor pool which is clean and modern! Miracle(person) at the front desk was very helpful and accommodating.

This is a newer property and is located 'Midtown' Anchorage. If you're passing through or looking for a nice place to stay that isn't downtown then I would recommend this location. If you want or need to be downtown, then this isn't the location for you. There are restaurants by this property that are not chain restaurants, but it's a bit of a Uber drive to the downtown area. Rooms are nice and there is a great free breakfast. Employees take the time to offer assistance and recommendations for local attractions. This property will not disappoint.

    Disgusting.

It's a stretch to give 3 stars. Let's start with the positives. My room was clean. The gym was great. The view was good. That's where it ends. The restaurant literally ran out of food. Except for one disgusting piece of cheesecake that was hardly edible. But oddly, the staff was eating in the guest area. The biggest issue became the theme of this place. I felt like I was intruding on a huge family event- I felt awkward and not relaxed. Kids everywhere in bare feet and pajamas. Lounging and sleeping in the guest area. The adults took over the restaurant area. But the weird part is the adults were the employees. One would jump behind the bar to place an order or answer the phone. I just cannot understand. This is a business. A hospitality business. I realize help is hard to find and maybe they are compensated through housing, but they are way too comfortable. Breakfast was the same. All the same people and I felt like I should leave. Luckily I live far away and won't have to stay here again but for a Hyatt, it's shocking. Extremely unprofessional.

I am a loyal Hyatt member. As an Explorist, I fall just short of Globalist every year. I really like the Hyatt House and Hyatt Place concepts and stay in them frequently throughout the country. Being only 8 months old there are some kinks to work out and the Assistant General Manager made no excuses realizing there are things that need to be tweaked. I would love to give them a higher rating but the service the night I arrived was not at it's best. Without giving a laundry list of problems, I was at my whits end by the second night and wanted to switch to the Hyatt House but it was booked full. Five days into our trip here, we are content, but we are not feeling the extra touch of Hyatt love. I do believe that they will work the kinks out but it is clear that the Hyatt culture has not taken hold here.... yet. For now I will stay at the Hyatt House where we usually stay in Anchorage. To all Hyatt people... Don't expect the same room sizes here, everything is smaller than the main concept.

Currently staying at the hotel. 4Nights stay and so wanted to just find something else but decided to just stay because we need to pack up again and disinfect and pay more. I normally disinfect the room whenever we stay but this one I had to clean. The room looked like they only changed the bedsheets and never cleaned. The microwave was gross. They never cleaned it. I called frontdesk they were apologetic and offered to give us a downgrade of a room as there were no suites available. I declined the offer and just sucked it up. What else was dirty aside from what I just mentioned... toilet and the floor you guess. The walls could use new paint as it's either stained or could use a good wipe. The doors could use a good wipe too. I think the room could just use a deep clean, carpets vacuumed and shampooed. Also this is a pet friendly hotel so some areas when you walk to the hallway you can smell dogs. I took a few photos to show what we came across. Breakfast is typical free breakfast.

This was probably one of the best Hyatt Places I've stayed at. Not only is it fairly new but the staff were all friendly and attentive upon check in to check out. Good: Early check in and late check out. Clean bathroom, clean room, hot breakfast with someone serving the hot food, clean gym and pool, and great location. 10 min from the airport, 10 minutes from downtown, 2.5 hours from Kenai Fjords/Seward, 4 hours to Denali, and restaurants/shopping areas within minutes (walking or driving). Bad: not that much, only thing is that the rooms are somewhat smaller for king bed than some other Hyatt's. The fire alarm did go off at one point but it was fine. We used a free night certificate for this hotel and it was definitely worth it than paying $300+ for the hotel. Worth it, highly recommend this Hyatt place!

The accommodations were absolutely wonderful--comfortable, clean, and thoughtfully designed. The staff truly made the experience unforgettable. Every single person we interacted with was friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. The food was outstanding--delicious, fresh, and consistently impressive throughout our stay. And the valet service? Exceptional!! Seamless, efficient, and always delivered with a smile. This has officially become our NEW favorite place to stay when we're in Anchorage. We're already looking forward to our next visit. Highly, highly recommend! Rooms We had a room on the 16th floor... the views were mindblowing.. the room so comfortable absolute perfection. Nearby activities Centrally located, we were there for medical reasons and just 5 min. from the Drs. offices. Safety We felt perfectly safe the entire time and went for several walks to explore the city. Walkability Convenient to EVERYTHING! Perfect location! Food & drinks We ate at the Crow's Nest, Fletchers and grabbed coffee at the Cubby all were delightful and delicious! Noteworthy details Valet staff was outstanding in every way, always pleasant, remembered our faces, so professional, we didn't have to lift a finger, if we didn't want to. As I walked through the lobby and in the elevators I was taken aback by how outdated this place was. This was especially apparent in the elevator with the gaudy faux gold hand rails and the smelly outdated carpet. It felt 1980's for sure! The room was average at best. I did have lunch and dinner at their restaurants and was very disappointed except for one (I will drop reviews on those restaurants). I love the history. But it's not enough for me to pay top dollar for an average hotel room. I will not be coming back.

We had a really long drive on 5/15/2026, and checked in around 6 pm and Eurina L, was pleasant and friendly, and made us feel welcome! While I had booked my room through a third- party company, she found our reservation and was able to change us from a king bed to two double beds. That's great customer service. She even asked us what floor we would like to be on. I think she could see how tired we were from driving, so she gave us a nice room on the1st floor which was very convenient - since we knew we would be coming and going from our truck to our room. She made a great choice.. we were close to our vehicle so we didn't have to walk far to unpack our vehicle. Our room was cozy with a heater and an air conditioner. The beds were comfortable and there was great water pressure for the shower. Thank you to Eurina for making our evening welcoming and enjoyable. A second shout out to Boyd, at breakfast. Boyd was busy giving all the patrons their requests. I only saw him at breakfast and he was working hard but he was still friendly and helpful. He actually cared you could tell, that we got exactly what we needed for breakfast. The fruit was great and the hot meal was tasty. Thank you to both Eurina and Boyd for the hospitality. We appreciate you!!

2026.01.19 UPDATED 1-star to a 2-star: So after staying…read morethere it got a little better. The woman on the night shift was apologetic for the phone issues (though it's a Millennium issue, as she doesn't have control over getting them fixed). She offered us 2-vouchers for breakfast and waived the resort fee (whatever that is for...this is not a resort even if you squint), so glad to not have to pay that. Hotel: it's a bit worn, hallway carpet is pretty worn; the hallway walls, it's obvious if you know where to look (hint the loose wallpaper bubbles) that there was originally wallpaper that was then painted over w/a high gloss paint to give it a face lift and a bit more life. There was a shuttle...it was just parked at the hotel. I would think they'd watch the incoming flights and try to bet at the airport particularity when they have late check-ins on the books. Oddly the rooms are numbered in the 1000's...for the 1st floor, it was confusing b/c we went into the elevator then realized there were only 3-floors; oh and if you have a room in the 1050-1060's...it'll be a walk...it's a loooong hotel, though there is a 2nd entrance that you can use to shorten the walk from the parking lot. Room: big and spacious, and on a positive note the bed is comfortable (not stiff like many hotels, even upper brands) and the pillows were soft, so we had a decent nights sleep. The bed 'could' use a heavier comforter being in Alaska (cold!), the one they had was move of an early autumn thickness. The rooms is kinda cold so keep the heat on 68-70 b/c there's a window A/C w/ no insulation or even a cover one it, and the only thing between the cold 10deg Alaskan air leaking is is a heavy curtain...fortunately the bed is a good 5' from the window. The sink faucet was very loose, like is this gonna leak loose. There also was a broken reading light on the headboard w/ wires somewhat exposed that could become an electrical hazard. The door had an undercut that allowed the hallway light in like it was a small spotlight b/c it's directly in line of the bed (for the sleeper on the left). Safety-wise that undercut is not good, if there was a fire in the room the smoke would get pulled into that hallway, and if a fire in the hallway then it'd get pulled into the room...not good, the doors should seal. Breakfast buffet: food was fine and fresh (the maple bacon was awesome)...it's a basic offering: scrambled eggs, bacon/sausage, waffles, breakfast potatoes, oatmeal, toast/muffins, juice and coffee is served in 16oz cups so plenty to drink; staff is friendly. 2026.01.11 Well...we booked a couple nights through Chase Travel Portal using points. We chose this as it is very close to the airport, rooms looked good and and a place to eat on-site, *AND* b/c we were coming in with on a red-eye and they state they have a 14hr airport shuttle. Yeaaaaa that's not true...and on top of that when calling to find out how/where to get it you just go to voicemail or the line is busy. So we got a Lyft instead. Son't stay here if you need a shuttle at 1am or need to call them in the wee hours for any reason.
