For a more chill stay in Venice, I recommend staying on Murano. The island is famous for glass blowing and has fabulous studios. The Hyattcentric is a wonderfully modern and minimalistic property with a fantastic staff. The Museo Vaporetto stop directly in front, making it easy to get over to Venice for sightseeing if that's what you like. The restaurant at this property is really good. I hosted a dinner for clients and everyone raved about their meals. The bartender is awesome and very creative. This property is a keeper for me.

I had booked a "superior" room for my anniversary. We're were to stay at the Hyatt for 3 nights and then take a cruise. That room ended up being the ugliest room I've stayed at in on years. See the photos of the black mold on the ceiling along with the weird stains. Also see our"view" of a brick wall and construction site. On top of these rather major issues, both of the tea cups had old tea stains on the outside that came off when I washed them and one had old lipstick. Stains also on lampshades and chairs. But the shower was very good and was a nice surprise. Silver was coming off the hand fixture but the wand worked well. In our sad little room it was a nice surprise. Walk in shower with rain style flow from ceiling as well as a wand. No tissues though which was weird. Also only 1 bar of soap. Unlike the other reviews I found the staff to be helpful and pleasant. Also, the location is good as long as you don't mind a little hassle getting to Murano. The complimentary shuttle the hotel offered is great if your plane comes in during operating hours- our plane came in very late. Alilaguna and 4.2 and 4.1 boats pick up right outside. However, it's 11 euro, not the 9 the hotel told me, to pay for the Alilaguna on board. But it's a great way to get around. I feel like we got the worst room in the place- I hope we did. I hope there isn't a worse room. I wish they'd asked for more money to bump us to a better room. I would have paid up. Must also mention how dark the corridor was. My husband tripped. We looked for switches- no joy. Do not stay in room 147. Ask for some kind of view. It's pretty claustrophobic with out one.

Im shocked at the negative reviews on this hotel. I had a wonderful time and my room was really modern, clean and updated. The front desk staff were very attentive, they showed you how to get around using maps, advised on the ferry schedules ( of which the stop was just right in front of the hotel) The ferry to the airport arrives every hour and it's just approximately a 20 minute trip. They brought 2 bottles of water to my room everyday because of my membership. I've had this membership for a while and that has never happened at any other location. My beef is not with the hotel. In general the need for a boat or ferry in Venice was kind of stressful for me so it's not a Hyatt problem but a Venice problem. By the way the hotel is located in Murano and on the third day, I just did everything within Muran. Visited the glass factories, had nice pastas , no need for a boat or anything and it's a very beautiful mini-city and a little more laid back and clean.

I admit I was not fond of our construction view, and I was surprised that some rooms were on the first level. We were there on a guided tour of Italy and only had to stay here 2 nights. I liked that we were RIGHT off the water. The room was clean but small, and not very many towels. We Americans apparently LOVE our towels, cause when I asked for more the guy asked 'how many'?? We love towels in hotels bc we don't have to wash them! I don't know if this is specific to Italy or Europe, but our key card plugged into the wall for electricity! There was a slot on the wall where we had to keep a card in to keep the lights on. No one told us this! Wonder if other hotels do this. The private dining room for our tour was nice, and the breakfast was delish, lots of variety. we took advantage of a BOGO drink special at the bar in the lobby. The waiter even helped us out when we paid cash but our bill was charged anyway. The staff was civil, not 'warm' but not 'cold' either. Our 2nd night we ate in the restaurant, as by 8pm in that area almost nothing is open. We already ate in nearby Osteria Duomo (check out that review soon) and we had a VERY early day the next day. Service was slow but the food was good: Burrata cheese with tomatoes and anchovy, amuse bouche bread and chicken salad, filet steak and veggies.

Excellent launch pad for your adventures around Murano and Venice. With the shuttle boats stopping just steps from the front door to the spotless environment. The rooms were up to date and the Turkish bath was a pleasant rejuvenation station! What a gem!

I don't really understand the bad reviews, everyone was super nice to us, we didn't have any issues. Nice, quiet location and they have a free water taxi service to and from hotel (you just have to book it like a day in advance, I would advise calling before if you're trying to get from the train station or airport, we didn't know they offered this service until after we got here). They also sent us a bottle of Prosecco on arrival for our anniversary, and our room was really clean, modern and very nice. Believe me, my husband is a NEAT FREAK and he was super impressed. Anytime we needed something from housekeeping, they brought it to us within minutes. We had a construction view but that didn't bother us at all. They have a daily breakfast, which is really good, nice selection! Our last night here, we had dinner at the hotel restaurant and it was great! Overall very happy we stayed here.

My SO and I definitely enjoyed our stay the most at this first hotel compared to the other locations. It was also the most modern hotel that felt the most luxurious. They had a classy black design and dark hallway with the room numbers illuminated. The hotel is on the main canal in Murano with nice bar and outside terrace overlooking the water and right next to the water taxi / bus stop which takes you to Venice and the other islands. The water taxi dropped us off right in front of the hotel from the Venice airport. We arrived early and our room wasn't ready so we stopped by for a refreshing drink at the cafe next door. I love how each part of the hotel and cafe were decorated beautifully with the colorful Venetian glass. After comparing to the other hotels the AC was very well controlled and we never felt too cold or too hot. The bed here was also the most comfortable compared to all of the other locations. They included a small table with a nice lounge chair, 2 areas for luggage and a long glass table and stool to sit. We had 1 large window on the first floor that did not really have a view of anything. There's a roomy upright rainfall shower room plus a large flat screen TV (we didn't use). This was also the only hotel to offer 2 complimentary bottles of water one fizzy and one flat. I loved the bountiful warm lighting options in the room and the layout of the place. Breakfast was included in the large dining room and they had a buffet style. I think otherwise it may cost extra if you booked yourself. The hotel offers a modest spread of bread, cheeses, pastries and hot eggs and cold cuts. Nothing amazing. We had appetizers and a 3 course meal for the Welcome Dinner and our favorite was the Raspberry Panna Cotta. Personally I think my SO could have done a better job with the lemon chicken. I booked Murano Palace for both but ended up cancelling the second night and going elsewhere. Basically it is a small, family-run place that is much more like a B&B than a hotel. The owner wanted us to call when we were at the airport but that would have been expensive, so we just emailed and said we were on course for our arrival time. You see, they don't staff the building except when they know people are coming. So that's awkward. We got to the hotel about half an hour early and the door was locked, so we buzzed and waited and waited and buzzed and knocked and nothing. Finally I emailed and said we were waiting and the door was opened for us. There's no lift and the stairs a bit awkward when you're dragging luggage and there's no offer of help. The lights have to be pushed on every time (and you need a special key to have them on in your room). The lady who checked us in was nice but didn't really speak English. Our room was not the cheapest in the hotel but wasn't a canal view - it was, in fact, right next to the reception desk. The window opened up onto nothing, except the kitchen window - so they could see right in our room if we didn't have the curtains drawn. And it was warm but the air conditioning wasn't on so we wanted the window open... not great. But the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom large. The TV is tiny and doesn't have any English channels. There is a minibar with a few free items which is nice. When we checked in we had to decide what time we wanted breakfast the next day, which was annoying. As it was, we didn't much want to get up for breakfast after a terrible sleep - the walls are paper-thin, and there was a late check-in, and people talking in the corridor throughout the night (not at all loudly but they might as well have been right in our room). So we traipsed to our unwanted breakfast and met the male owner, who was friendly but a bit overbearing. As we don't drink coffee we might as well not have bothered - we were each given a warm bread roll and there were a few pastries but that was pretty much it. But that's to be expected, and Italians don't really do breakfast. Long story short - if you like the B&B feeling, want to feel 'part of the family', and have good earplugs, you'll love it here. We didn't.

The staff is extremely accommodating and always welcoming us as we come and go. They help with all of our bags and everything we needed during our stay. The room was large especially for Italy and European hotels. It had a huge closet and large bathroom. The bed was wonderful and comfortable with fluffy down pillows and comforter. There was a welcome treat left for us with some special cookies. The mini bar is well stocked and reasonably priced. The bathroom has a walk in shower, big vanity and mirror and toilet plus bidet. The best feature was the towel heater! Not only does this dry your towels quickly but the warm towel as you step out of the shower is divine! All toiletries are provided including little extras like toothbrushes and shower caps. There was a hair dryer as well. The bathroom was well appointed. There is no detail left out at this hotel. Staff was friendly, accommodating, and professional. At the same time I was not blown away. My biggest issue and reason for my 3 stars is mostly based on the fact that I could/would not stay more than one night. We had a view of a wall and it was a struggle to even get to the window to look out. I didn't want to spend time in the room due to the fact that with no light coming in the room was dark. Not what I pictured my night in Venice to be. Others in our group had a similar lack luster view. Make sure you request a room with some kind of view. Breakfast was from 7 to 10am...we missed our "free" breakfast as we had to leave by 7am for the airport. They hotel provided a "breakfast to go" bag which was quite nice. I was impressed with that. The room has an Italian decour with gold and red colors. Shampoo and hand soap in pump bottles not individual containers. Coffee machine was excellent. Bidet in each room. Bed was comfy enough but I have had much better. Short walk to great cafes, restaurants and stores. 25 min walk to the heart of Venice. Depending how you go to airport (water taxi, car, bus and water taxi) I would say approximately 35 min. Hotel lobby is very nice, smaller than expected, and water and apples upon checking in. If I returned to Venice I personally would stay elsewhere.

The room was well-cleaned and the bathroom was well thought out with an extra shelf for toiletries. The bar was amazing (shoutout to the lovely bartender, Marco!). The room was also connected to a large rest area with other beautiful couches. As for the hotel itself, it was further away in the Cannaregio area. Most people prefer to stay in the San Marco area, but while Cannaregio was a 25 minute walk away, it was nice to do after a meal to digest. What I wasn't okay with was the terrible smell in the room. I didn't notice it initially when I dropped off my bags in the front area of the room and went out to explore Venice. However, when I returned late that night and laid down, I realized the bed and sheets had a foul odor. I hoped it would be resolved after housekeeping came the next day, but unfortunately, the smell persisted. Room 611 should not be in use--it reeks of what can only be described as moldy dead rats, and the odor is particularly strong around the bed. I don't blame the cleaning staff; I believe this is an issue management is aware of.
