A few years back we stayed in this hotel on the Grand Canal. Twenty minutes from St. Marks and surrounded by fantastic restaurants. Tell me, what could be better?
We both love the friendliness, yet professionalism, of all the staff. Old world surroundings and a wonderful opportunity to sit up high on the roof terrace or on canal level outside on the decking with a drink late into the evening.
Breakfast is exceptional. I hate it when guests complain that they hated the breakfast. Here, on a rotunda, is a mixture of continental breakfast plus. Enough of a choice for the most finicky. The fruit is something to see.
The room we had was large and airy. Air conditioning, minibar (reasonable pricing) and safe in the wardrobe. Nice bathroom but, slight thought here, could be updated as the power jets on the shower did not work. Not a complaint as the normal shower worked beautifully.
Some areas the carpet in the halls were a little worn but taking in the traffic what would you expect.
For its price one of the better options in Venice. We certainly would stay again on our next trip. Thank you everyone for a wonderful few days especially to the young lady in the breakfast room, always a smile. Thanks to the young man (everyone is young to me at my age) at reception. Mustn't forget the young lady of reception one evening who served me a brandy from the bar. It was a large brandy even by European standards, thank you I enjoyed it.l read more
