Bass River Marina - Master Mechanic and Yamaha Ace, Chris. Very knowlegeable and the nicest guy.

Bass River Marina

I just picked up my boat from Bass River after having some engine work done on it. My 2004 Yamaha…read more115 4 stroker was running roughly and losing rpm. They were able to slip it into their schedule during a relative lull in a busy week at the end of August. The mechanic found some things that I missed and both he and the repair manager were up front about efforts and options for repair. Some items they repaired/replaced in very short order. Those were items under their control. Other items took longer and those were not necessarily under the shop's control. Yes, the repair took longer than I would have liked but that, my friends, is what happens when you own a boat. Sometimes things take longer than we'd plan. The boat is fixed, they did repairs that I couldn't touch and they always keep the lines of communication open, even when they didn't have good news. They called in the heavy troops when necessary and my boat is back in business. They were more than fair in the final bill and I would recommend Bass River to others who are in the Dennis MA area and need work done.

These people are criminals. This happened to us and many of our neighbors on the Cape. They have appointments and slips for a reason. The only thing good about this marina are the waitresses in the unaffiliated resturant. beware.

Ok! I've gotten to another mid-life crisis and yearned for this type of boat for 3 years. The…read moreopportunity to buy pre-owned didn't present a boat that was to my liking and well I guess I just like new things. When I'm on the water, I like the security of safety and "new." As an avid angler and captain, I travel several miles of ocean to catch tuna and enjoy the waters of Cape Cod. I need and wanted the very best and I'm fortunate to be able at this stage of my life to buy what I want. Cabo Sport Fishing boats epitimize the true nature of sport fishing. My dealer is Oyster Harbors. This is my 3rd boat through them over the last 10 years. They have treated every transaction with the highest integrity and professionalism and made sure I was not only happy with my boat, but the price. Today when I picked up this 38' Cabo Express three detailers had been all over this boat since 6:00 AM. With my 8:30 arrival they assured me the boat was to their standards of cleanliness and congratulations Mr. W. So my guests and I leave Osterville for Pleasant Bay a 2 hour ride. But before leaving, everyone I came across at the boatyard thanked me for my business and wished me the best of luck.........a celebrity was born. Peter, the owner, sent me off with his expert captain and son Andrew and we cleared the breakwater at 30 knots. Andrew was outstanding and we enjoyed running the boat together from the tower and the helm. She "the holy Kamoli III" ran like the very best. Fog, a Viking out of control, the rips and we made a grand entrance to Pleasant Bay from the tower..........very triumphant. I am so lucky to have started this relationship with Oyster Harbors. My boat is awesome, fast and fishy. My family is safe and I have a great dealer to back me up.

I am writing because I am extremely disappointed with the response I have received regarding…read moreservice for my boat. My initial request was for a quote to winterize, shrink-wrap, and store the boat. I was told that storage was unavailable because the yard was at capacity. While disappointing, I understood. I then requested winterization and shrink-wrapping only. I have now been told that the marina does not have experience working on Evinrude outboards. This explanation is particularly difficult to understand considering I purchased this boat from your marina in November of last year, and your service department subsequently winterized, shrink-wrapped, and stored it through the spring. That service included my Evinrude outboard. In addition, when your service department recommended approximately $1,600 in dashboard changes, I approved the work without hesitation because I trusted the recommendations of the marina and believed I was establishing an ongoing relationship with the business that sold me my boat. That is why this situation is so disappointing. I have to ask: What has changed since the sale? I have done nothing but support your business, follow your service department's recommendations, and spend my hard-earned money on something I genuinely enjoy. In return, I now feel as though the relationship ended once the sale was completed. At 66, and with plans to retire at the end of next year, I had already begun thinking about purchasing another vessel, preferably something with a cabin that would allow me to continue boating while having greater protection from the elements. Based on this experience, that purchase will not be made through your marina. Matt Whelan, I included you because my relationship with the marina began with you and continued through the surveyor, marine captain, service department, and the person who assisted me with the closing. I wanted you to understand firsthand why a customer who began this relationship enthusiastically has become so deeply disappointed. I value businesses that understand that a sale is the beginning of a customer relationship, not the end of one. Unfortunately, my experience here has left me feeling precisely the opposite. I will take my future business elsewhere, and I intend to be candid when sharing my experience with others and on the appropriate review and business platforms. I genuinely did not expect to find myself writing this message, and perhaps that is what makes the experience so frustrating. A hugely disappointed client,
