These people are criminals. They do not do the repairs they claim to do, they take short cuts and charge full price and once they have destroyed your boat and you realize what they have done and sue them- they have enough money to just draw it out. This happened to us and many of our neighbors on the Cape. They have appointments and slips for a reason. My boat had dash problems and I dropped it off here this past June. I was looking forward to getting the boat in the water and thought it would be tied up a long time considering it was the busiest time of year. This place was great. I went here to get some work done to my Mercury outboard. I clearly outlined what the problem was and explicitly asked them to contact me before performing any work. They called, after they claimed they fixed it. $900 later. They said the spark plug modules had dielectric grease making contact between the pins and shorting it out. Um, dielectric grease is made so that it WONT short things out. What they did was turn the idle screw WAY up so you could hardly notice it was stumbling and charged me way too much. I finally fixed it myself (ended up being a broken reed valve) but these guys were a huge rip off. $900 to do nothing. I would never bring my boat here again. read more

Very poor experience at BRM. Took nearly two months to address two issues with my Sea 19 ft bow rider. In the end, neither issue was fixed and it cost me $2100+. On top of it, I paid $4200 to have the boat on a slip at The Marina and because of the delays with the repairs and the fact that the boat was never properly fixed, I got to take it out 3 times all season and could barely limp along in the river. I found out after the fact that they are not a certified Mercruiser dealer ant this is the excuse that have given me as to why the issues persist. Should have informed me when I brought it there in the first place. I assumed since I was a customer who had purchased a slip for the season, that I would be treated fairly and with integrity. The only thing good about this marina is the new dock. Service department is useless. Took over a month to get an oil change. When I received the oil change they told me I needed a fuse block for all my wiring. After waiting another 2 weeks calling and emailing every day for an update, I was told that the technician had to start working on other boats. My boat was left with all the wires disconnected, and I was told to take care of it myself because they are just too busy. another wiring issue happened, and I was told they would fix it. After 2 weeks of waiting they tell me that they are once again too busy and they they can't complete all the work, but they will make sure my boat starts. My advice-look elsewhere for a place to keep your boat. I've barely been able to use my boat because it's been held up with the service guys for the majority of the season. If I could give 0 stars I would. read more

I purchased a used Boston Whaler from Troy. It was a boat BRM took on trade for a new Parker. The boat had some engine and electrical problems discovered during the sea trial and after delivery. Bass River Marina covered the parts and labor for every single component and chased difficult issues for a few weeks until every problem was resolved to my satisfaction. By the way, this is in the middle of the busiest weeks of the year. When you buy a 20 year old boat, you know it won't be perfect. However, you can buy with the confidence that Troy will make sure you have the boating experience you deserve. read more

I brought an 8 hp Yamaha in there and specifically told Clark not to do anything before I received an estimate because this engine is not worth very much. Engine sat there for 3 weeks, then I received a message on Sunday that they were working on it and ordering parts. I called him back, told him he had agreed that I would receive an estimate before work was done. He told me I would have it Monday. Nothing Monday, Tues or Wed. Thursday he called and told me it would be $425, way beyond what this was worth or should cost. I called him back, told him I didn't want it done, he complained that they had already ordered parts, then said "whatever, do what you want". I went down to get the engine. He said nothing and left the engine on the floor at the rear of the room where I was allowed to walk back and carry it out while he stood there and said nothing. We had an agreement, he broke it and was clearly ticked off that I didn't go along with his little game. This is beyond terrible. I would rather paddle the boat than get anything fixed here. If you play by their rules and pay through the nose you might be okay, it's up to you. read more

I placed my 26 Albemarle in a slip for a week in Bass River and found the experience and people to be outstanding. Clark Goebel did everything to assist us and got a mechanic to fix our windlass in short order. The experience, price and service we experienced were excellent. I just picked up my boat from Bass River after having some engine work done on it. My 2004 Yamaha 115 4 stroker was running roughly and losing rpm. They were able to slip it into their schedule during a relative lull in a busy week at the end of August. The mechanic found some things that I missed and both he and the repair manager were up front about efforts and options for repair. Some items they repaired/replaced in very short order. Those were items under their control. Other items took longer and those were not necessarily under the shop's control. Yes, the repair took longer than I would have liked but that, my friends, is what happens when you own a boat. Sometimes things take longer than we'd plan. The boat is fixed, they did repairs that I couldn't touch and they always keep the lines of communication open, even when they didn't have good news. They called in the heavy troops when necessary and my boat is back in business. They were more than fair in the final bill and I would recommend Bass River to others who are in the Dennis MA area and need work done. read more
