Can you say stale. I purchased the peanut bar or a blarney stone as it is called around saint patty's day today. This thing was sooooooooooooooooooo stale it was inedible. Just because it is refrigerated does NOT mean it has an unlimited shelf life. This was for a birthday treat. Disgraceful. A certain amount of waste or spoilage is tax deductible. I won't waste my money on any baked good here again. 1 star is actually to good for this visit but I cannot give it zero. read more

I thought it was very unusual they added a fancy restaurant onto a grocery store. Despite that we decided to try it. I ordered a Sunrise burger- hamburger topped with egg and ham with fries. The egg was hard cooked- which usually when eggs are atop a burger, the yolk should break. The burger has absolutely no taste. Very dry, had to keep taking sips of water. Fries are good, taste similar to Applebee's. Husband ordered shrimp tacos. He said they were okay, however the slaw was just shredded lettuce. Nacho appetizer is a good size, chips are a bit oily. At the prices they charge ($12 for the burger, $15 for the tacos, $6-$10 for most appetizers) we probably won't be back. We can go pay the same price somewhere else for better tasting food and not look out the window to the lines of grocery carts. Also not a fan that this deters customers from being able to get other foods (Italian, Chinese etc) and sit down to eat it. You have to get your food, wait to be seated, have a server get your drink and then leave a tip. That's silly. The open dining area worked better and felt open to any customer- whether it be a family eating dinner or a husband drinking a cup of coffee while his wife shops. read more

I am so impressed with Hy-Vee's support and commitment towards the gluten free folk. I was concerned about living outside of Chicago and the suburbs and being gluten free, but Hy-Vee has made it nearly impossible to miss any of the GF convenience food options that you'd get near the city. In fact, this store just recently expanded their shelf-stable food collection; it probably doubled or tripled in size. I also greatly appreciate the GF support group that Hy-Vee hosts monthly, which usually allows attendees to sample new GF products, as well as contribute input on what products we'd like to see on the shelves. The dietitian and staff are wonderful, and I'm so pleased with my experiences shopping here. The store is fresh and clean, and the GF selection is truly amazing! read more

Good selection of wines and import beers. Also the deli area is always bustling and is filled with fresh food,and a variety of really everything. I love this place but must admit I only visit once a month or less just because I try to support my local town grocery store for daily needs. When I do make it out to Hy-Vee I am never disappointed and know I will get all on my list. Great place to stock up before a cookout and or Wine/beer run. read more

I love HyVee delivery about 90% of the time BUT the love is starting to drop. What is the point of allowing substitutions IF you don't substitute one thing that you are out of for something else. Should I add in the comments that I will pay more if that is the reason for omitting a very important item? I will be more than happy to do that. Great atmosphere, trendy vibe and delicious food. The guacamole was AMAZING, the carnitas tacos were quite tasty as was the quesadilla! The owner even took time to chat with us as we enjoyed our meal. Definitely recommend! read more

Food was decent, service was horrendous. The dining room wasn't even half capacity but waited 18 minutes for waitress to come back and check on us. After no service for close to twenty minutes, I had to go get drink refills for family. I saved my empty glass to see how long it would take to get refilled. Waitress came out after food was served by others at the twenty-five minute mark and finally offered service. I pointed out that it had been a long time and she became very rude and short for the rest of the meal. Including a 'Here' when she offered the bill, tossed it on the table and walked away. I am raving about the Hy-Vee Catering. They did an awesome job catering my wedding. Joy was very helpful throughout the whole planning the menu. Any and all questions I had were answered promptly. I was not quite sure exactly what I wanted for the food menu and Joy helped me decide on the perfect choices. All the guests enjoyed the appetizers and meal. I LOVE THIS STORE. First off the woman with the short hair and amazing personality at the liquor department deserves 10 kudos awards seriously. On top of that the pharmacy is fast reliable and caring. Foods expensive but you're not getting crap when you shop there so id rather pay more for quality. Employee owned and it shows. Very upscale considering the area. Sushi, great cheese area, friendly butchers, large organic section, liqueur store with staff that knows their products. Roaming managers always making sure you can find what you are looking for. They usually have one up front so if a line of more than two customers are checking out they open another station. Very clean store with selections usually not found in the area. read more
