The staff here was very friendly and I did like their selection of alcohol too. But she was very kind and we had a discussion about sour dough bread (which is what i am in the process of making.) On another shopping trip I was looking for chocolate covered coffee beans. I found a giant container of them. When I was checking out, the cashier asked me if found everything OK. I said I wish that you had a smaller container of them. (I was using them to decorate a cheesecake.) The employee said actually we have these smaller packages over here and grabbed one for. It saved me multiple dollars and I still have some left. Something has happened at Fareway. They've always been known for prices and their meat department…read more The prices have stayed low but everything else has slipped about Fareway. The meat department employees have no clue what each cut of meat is. Knowing the difference be variance cuts of beef and pork is your jobs. The chicken doesn't taste like chicken and per my wife I'm forbidden to purchase Fareway chicken. The produce department puts everything into zip-lock bags. The fruit is bruised and the lettuces are almost always wilted and slimy. I keep coming back hoping that someone will change things, well that and it's right in my path home. But I wonder how much longer I will keep it up with so many newer options surfacing.
