    Unbelievable staff. Everyone is working hard to make sure all needs are fulfilled! Even though the parking lot is packed you would hardly be able to tell. The entire store is operating so smoothly. The isles are clean and friendly. The staff is oozing helpful smiles. I got everything I need, mailed a packages, made a great friend and was on my way. I will definitely be returning. I highly recommend this location. Special thanks to Mark P. A gentlemen. A saint. A savior.

    COVID-19 Review: Do not go into this store if you have any kind of medical condition or want to take this pandemic seriously. This store does not take the virus seriously. When I pointed out an associate a customer wasn't wearing a mask I was told that the mayors mandate is infringing on their constitutional rights. I then went to speak to a floor manager, Tyler, who didn't even allow me to finish my statement he interrupted me and told me that his boss told him that they were not to enforce the mandate and that it was up to the city of Des Moines to do so. When I asked if I was supposed to call the police he stated I could if I wanted. As I was finishing my shopping after this Incident I observed not only regular employees but the store manager not wearing a face mask. There were a couple of people in the customer area by the meat counter not wearing a face mask only wearing face shields which it has been shown as inadequate and not recommended by the CDC as a lone facial covering. When I went to check out there was another person standing by the earlier stated front end manager not wearing a facial covering. they were having a discussion and were not socially distancing. Overall it is very obvious that the store and very possibly hy-vee in general is not taking this pandemic seriously nor obeying the letter of the law in regards to it. I have submitted a complaint to their corporate office however I have no faith that anything will be done. I have also left a message to start a complaint with the mayors office. It's also worth stating that there is nobody at the stores entrance keeping track of number of people coming into the store, asking people if they have a mask or wiping down carts. This is standard procedure at their competitor stores. There is no hand sanitizer at the entrances or throughout the store. They do not have cleaning supplies for customers to be able to whip down their own carts. They had an open empty bottle of cleaner and a dry paper towels on an over flowing trash can.

    I have to re-write my scathing review of this store sine management changes,But it still has a llloonngg eay to go to change simple mistakes. Mistakes an prices that don't show up at the register are fewer...but not gone. On one visit they charged me 184$ total and after I argued with them and the bice asst. mgr.ran around and checked the prices....my bill came down to 94$ !...but that is far and few between...but still too often.They are ripping people off who hurry in and out....don't watch their receipts.SO WATCH AND CHECK THEM!!! Their produce is WAY overpriced....attached pictures way too much bad produce....Wrinkled,..rotten even. They want to call this a high end shop....they they need to step up and supply the product. Onions at 1.69 # everyday price....when they are .89 or .99$ a pound all over the place...unforgivable.Rotting cucumbers,peppers,green onions...all in this store. I agree with the review saying too many flies in the bakery display case. Thay also do not want to work with you on any special orders in the bakery that should not be a problem. Seafood section is good...not great.They still offer very few CLEAN American seafood.A lot of their seafood is not PROMENENTLY marked as from China or Indonesia.It cost more...but I pay it on my small disability pay to get it.It is important to me ...and should be to you too. Clean. The assistant mgrs are SSSOO nice and helpful....at least 9 out of 10 are...their best asset. Not a fan of their food shops.But that is a personal choice. The food bar is OK if you like regular tasting food...nothing over the top to keep you from going somewhere else. I do love the salad bar if it was open until closing time. I am a night owl and go down late at night.....and 7 or 7:30PM it is closed .The store says it closes at 9PM..... By the way...if you are going to this Hy Vee for blue cheese dressing-all they carry is Hy Vee brand that...let's say...SUX.No othet choice.

    I love Hy-Vee, Helpful smiles galore. I think Hy-vee is one of the nicest grocery store chains in the county. I'm not being biased either, just cause the corporate offices are here. The stores are super clean, they always have a bunch a people on staff ready to help. They employ all ages, races, and ethnic back grounds. They have a huge selection of organic, and healthy foods! Also great beer/wine selection also featuring local items! It's open 24 hours a day, and the sushi, salad bar, and hot deli food items are fantastic as well! I been all around the USA and I have to say I would put Hy-Vee up there when the best of the best of grocery stores anywhere! Glad we have them here!

    This Hy-Vee is just as great as the other ones in the state. This is a very convenient location for those who are waiting for s flight at the airport, it is a block away from the airport and you can get great hot foods here. Even after hours you can stop by here and grab their premade food and just heat it up. Their staff members are always friendly and willing to help. The stores are kept clean and well stocked with the latest products.

    This review is for the Hy-Vee Corporate Headquarters, and specifically for the Hy-Vee online…read moreordering and grocery delivery only. This is my third year signing up for the Hy-Vee membership and it's NOT worth it! Hy-Vee jacks the prices up on their app and the overall app experience has been awful. I only get the Hy-Vee membership because I like to order my groceries online and have them delivered, and every time I order food through their app, I have a bad experience. Literally EVERY TIME. The app is out-dated, SLOW, and poorly maintained (other than adding the latest deals). Each time I use the app, it gets worse. First of all, I get error messages at least five times EVERY TIME I use the app. It takes me at least three times to login EVERY TIME (and my login and pw is saved on my phone and auto-signs me in... using the same login credentials each time). Lately, when I navigate to a page while shopping, I select an item, and the page refreshes and takes me back to the home screen, so I have to scroll to find where I left off just to keep shopping. A third of the food I put in the cart and purchase is not even available at the store. It's 2026... all inventory should be tracked. On the shelves, when it's purchased at the register, and on the app! Why don't these businesses invest in these no-brainer quality processes? If the item is out of stock at the store, it should not be available to buy on the app. Please let me fix your app and help you streamline this process Hy-Vee! I guarantee your revenue would go UP from your online customer sales. So, next comes the check out... I always select 'no substitutions' and 'contactless delivery', but what's the point? Hy-Vee uses third-party delivery services so the shopper doesn't know I selected those options. Every shopper asks me what I want for substitutions. The communication between the shopper and buyer is not great and really needs to be improved. All the systems used are not connected correctly or streamlined. It's not the shoppers fault, it's Hy-Vee's fault. These shoppers are trying to make extra money and the way the app is setup is absolutely loosing Hy-Vee money and the shopper. I also think there should be some standards set when a shopper is hired so the expectation is clear on all fronts. Shoppers need to learn how to pick out produce! FOR THE LOVE! It never fails that every time I order produce, I get something rotten or past its prime. And Hy-Vee does not have anything on their app to make this right. I've probably spent over $100 in the last three years buying rotten produce that someone getting paid picked out for me. I ordered groceries today and again, not a good experience. All the messages I received from the shopper came to me via text (not through the app, not from the phone number that sends me notifications from Hy-Vee, but from a new random number). The shopper kept tell me that certain foods were not in stock and 'here are the substitution options'... while trying to send me pictures of the food... but the pictures didn't come through. There was not a link to the pictures, no link back to the app to show the pictures... nothing. As the shopper was picking the items, I did receive five of the same yet separate text messages, providing me a link to 'track the status of my order'. The link took me to yet another third-party provider that told me the shopper was 'shopping'. However, I did not get a notification that said the shopper was on his way to deliver the groceries... not helpful. I'd love to know who the architect, developers and QA testers are on this app because it's one of the worst I have ever used. To end this lovely experience I had today, I received a text message while my grocery was being delivered that said "Randy is approaching with your order from UnknownClient: ####. Your driver will hand the order to you." I guess this is their 'contactless delivery' message? Quite the personalization too, I guess I'm the Unknown Client? lol! To top off this review, two and half hours after my order was delivered, I received the text messages of *the pictures* the shopper was trying to send me while shopping. I mean, come on. I'm embarrassed for you Hy-Vee. Is this the best you can do? I have spent thousands of dollars at Hy-Vee since I moved to this area and I am constantly so disappointed. My advice is - either drop the online app and delivery service all together because it's awful...or... fix your piece of crap app that could really make Hy-Vee a lot more money in online sales.

    Sebastian was the cashier that rang me up this evening and he is WONDERFUL!! I had some questions…read moreabout an item because I couldn't belive it was the actual price, so he double checked it for me. It changed the entire shopping list that I thought I needed, so it made everything SO much easier!! When it actually WAS the right price, I got a little giddy, and he was so happy that I was happy. He made sure that I bought the amount I was able to, and he made sure I had my perks entered and he was just an absolute delight! I would DEFINITELY like him recognized for being the asset to this store that he is. Thank you Sebastian!

    I checked out "Cash Saver" on its Grand Opening day. It was mid-afternoon and I hadn't seen the…read moreparking lot this full in years. I braced myself for a busy, chaotic store. I had my infant daughter with me and had problems finding a cart without a broken strap to buckle her in. The carts were not in the best shape. After finally locating a cart that would be safe for her, I moved on. I was greeted with wooden tubs full of discounted products from plastic Easter eggs to Prego pasta sauce to Ramen Noodles. These were priced great, even after adding 10%. Next stop the produce. I will say the produce looked much better than what Dahl's had. Price wise, it was hit or miss. Some were priced well while I wasn't impressed with others. This trend continued throughout the store. There were excellent prices on some things and then some not so impressive prices. On to the checkout. I've never liked these checkouts where you send the cart to one side while you go to the other (especially with an infant strapped in). They had plenty of checkouts open and opened more while I was in line. I was warmly greeted and chatted with the lady. You can use coupons here as well and I handed those over without any problem. I was very happy with my final bill! I'll be back for more great deals!
