Pros: affordable Cons: took an hour to get our food. Each meal was delivered to the table individually, in the interest of serving it hot I suppose. In our family we wait until all are served before starting. Mine was a breakfast entree with toast on the side. I eat my toast with my eggs which took another 5+ minutes. I asked kindly for fresh toast once eggs arrived so that it would be warm. It didn't arrive until each meal was finished. By then my eggs were cold. Our server was doing their best. It was a early afternoon stop for us. We have eaten there before and the food was ok for the price. On this day we were told "sit where ever you want". We sat, and sat..... waiting for water, menus or acknowledgement that we were sitting there. I watched the waitress visit other tables several times while we sat there. We ended up leaving and eating elsewhere. They were not busy at all... it looked like they had 2 waitresses and most of the time we were waiting one of them spent the entire time inputting what looked like several tickets into the computer, while the other waitress took care of the two tables she had. I had even noticed that she glanced at us and just kept walking. If you want people to stop coming to your diner, this is the way to do it. read more

1st day open on 6th st. Sw Hectic that day. But they will process to there best , like old location. But , a few things need to improve Food . I had meatloaf sandwich was mushy bread was toasted great an fries ok. Ruben sandwich needs more meat and less sauces .... Over all will definitely try out one more time in the future. I have been here several times, both old lication and new location and my last visit on 02-16-25 was terrible. It was not busy, but we still waited an hour and 20 minutes to get cold food. The food came in waves. By the time we got our toast, breakfast was over. The only consistency to our meal were the apologies from the waitresses. Very disappointing and an equally embarassing situation with our out of state guests. read more

This place is a hidden gem. Everything from scratch, the owner will come and talk to you and of course the food is 100% legit and just really good. This is one of those rare places that isn't a chain, doesn't use frozen food and everyone is genuinely happy to be working there. A true diner and it deserves to be recognized as such. read more

Way too expensive!! Hot roast beef is $12.00 which is utterly ridiculous! Down the road at Olive Tree you get a whole dinner with salad, potato, vegetable and bread for under $9.00 Also charges a "convenience fee" if you use a cc which I wasn't told upfront about. Not much roast beef on the sandwich either, and it was bland with no seasoning. Won't go back with those prices! read more

To start with, thanks for the salmonella poisoning. After church Sunday November 6th, 2022, me and my 2 brothers though we'd try it out. It had a Harley sitting out front and we're all 3 motorcycle enthusiasts, so we felt we'd fit in with the cliental. Looked like good people all around, employees and customers. But beware, the food is dangerous. I had the steak and eggs. The steak looked a little suspicious (as my brother noticed) but I ate it and it didn't taste bad, but I was starving. The pancakes that came with the meal had butter (probably margarine) patties with plastic between each one (someone was too lazy to remove them). Being margarine is one molecule shy of plastic, I might as well have eaten them too. But I digress. When I got home I puked and defecated into the wee hours of the morning. If this was on purpose, congratulations. I just wish I knew why. I gave a huge tip regardless (I didn't know at the time that I had been poisoned). If you don't like spending all night excreting liquids from both orifices, avoid this place. read more

Delicious food!!! The food is not only better than anything else in Cedar Rapids but would rival ANY diner I've ever been in, for just over $20 bucks!! The flavors of the gyro and the reuben (they use brisket) were incredible!! The staff is very friendly and will help you feel at home and the owner was walking around talking to all the tables. It's very busy, we got the last 2 spots in the place by the counter so be patient. They just opened and they'll get this part down, but I'm telling you the food is worth the little wait in the meantime!!! read more
