We called Aaron & he quoted 4 hours to move us from a 2 bedroom townhouse @ Williamsburg on the Lake to a 2 bedroom Villa we purchased in Blair Hills. Aaron did not come to the move & sent 3 young men to get the job done. They were supposed to show up @ 9am & didn't make it till 9:30am but charged us from 8:45am, first problem. Second problem they didn't bring any tools to take the beds etc apart? I left to go to the new place & they arrived in about 45 minutes because they had to leave the plank to unload at the townhouse because they left NO room on the truck? They unloaded the majority of the truck using the Tommy lift on the truck, more delays. Our furniture gained a lot of scratches in this move & shelving taken to the basement was placed in the middle of the basement & all of the items on the shelves were placed on the walls where the shelves were supposed to go even after telling ALL 3 of them shelves go on the SOUTH wall not the middle of the room. Their truck left lots of rusted pieces on our driveway for us to pickup from the Tommy lift & then charged us for 6 hours instead of 4 & still had the storage shed to move the next day. I left Aaron a voicemail on his phone to call me ASAP but didn't receive a call till the following week! The 3 man crew came back the next day & took 6 hours again to clean out & move a 10' x 15' storage shed! Aaron eventually called me back & credited us for 2 hours but overall we are not happy with this company plus NO booties worn on our freshly cleaned carpet as stated on other reviews shown here. Next time I'll wait till 2 men & a truck have time to move us in their quality trucks with quality staff.

Our experience was rough, very rough. I can say this, none…read moreof them could listen. The boxes stated where they would go, they couldnt read. They asked each time where the boxes went, and when they left, none of the boxes where in the right spots. I could go on and on about how bad this was. (These kids/men) did not want to work, did not have any experience at all and literally had to be watched the whole time and didnt even listen to anything hardly at all. It really seemed like they did this on purpose, walking slow, didnt show up even with 1 dolly, we spoke about using dollies for heavy boxes, real heavy. They show up and didnt want to move them, because they had no dollies? A moving company with no dollies? They showed up almost 6 hours early and wondered why we are not ready. etc. The group of children we got, basically got paid huge to do very little. 1 guy spent an hour taking apart a couch that didnt even need to, and he argued that point for 10 mins. He also needed 2 others help to do this. We got it in through this hall with out taking apart, weve have never had to take it apart. He takes it apart anyway. (that was 200 dollars). They gave a discount, but really, they moved about 25% stuff compared to the last guys we used, moved almost all our stuff in the same time frame. This was just real bad service from people who really didnt know how to move or pack at all, some of them looked like they was 16. Making fun of us around the corner, talking on the phone, using phones while working, etc. We ended up having to move most all of our heavy boxes that we hired them to do. I caught one guy taking out a broom, he was gonna carry a broom the whole way to the truck. We hired you to lift and move the large boxes... i say... he kept walking and i had to grab it from his hand and tell him again, NO. This is not a heavy box.... I assume they sent newbies but really, we could have done it all ourselves better and faster. We should have. This time. Hopefully they hire people who actually care... We got a bunch of kids who cant read or write it seems?

I hired these "movers" for the suggested time, for a two-bedroom apartment. I had a 26' truck for a…read more900 sqft apartment that my 71-year-old mother lived in. I looked at their reviews via the U-Haul site and felt that they would be okay, and also were the closest to my mom's apt. I trusted that U-Haul properly vetted their moving companies, that they suggested. I booked this move SEVERAL months ahead of time. My mom was going to move to KY when her lease expired - July 2025. Therefore, I selected the time that would best work for her, me, and my siblings, June 27th. I CANNOT control the weather; however, for 2.5 hours, I heard constant complaints about how hot it was. The "moving company" R&W Moving, LLC. arrived five or so minutes late, shortly after 9 am. When they showed up, it was one man and one woman. The woman did not acknowledge my existence and would not look at me. The man was working fairly steadily, albeit complaining the entire time, while the woman would grab one box at a time, walking sluggishly to the truck. She was vocally complaining as well, and the two were arguing. She snapped at him when he asked if she could use the restroom. It was surprising and awkward. Further, while complaining about the heat that I cannot control, and again, it is late June in Indiana, so I'm not sure what temperature they expected, they also complained that my mom had "too much stuff." Constantly. I awkwardly laughed and hoped he would just keep working the promised time that was paid for. The man consistently stopped to complain about the heat, and my mom's "too much stuff." Yes, my mom has a lot of stuff, she has lived a lot of life, so of course, she has acquired items. Yet all of these items fit inside her 900 sqft, two-bedroom house. This man also had time to stop to smoke, in addition to complaining, eating into the three hours I previously paid for. I get it, it was hot. It was humid. But it is summer, after all, and they accepted this job knowing that. So, I went and bought ice-cold water for them. He drank one, and I put the rest in the refrigerator and let them know to have at it. Because I had paid for three hours, was told I had two movers, and was suggested by U-Haul that that would be sufficient for a 2-bedroom, 900 sqft apartment, I made an appointment for my mom at 2:30 pm. Recently, after booking this move, etc., my mom suffered a cardiac event and needed emergency heart surgery roughly 6 weeks ago, and has needed several additional appointments for her care and recovery. I thought I had plenty of time. 9 am to 12 pm leaves a fair amount of time for the afternoon appointment. At the two-hour mark, the man came to me saying that it was too hot, and that slowed them down, and mom had so much stuff that he couldn't get it done in three hours. He said he could do most of it in four, but there may be "just a few things left". I am by myself, and am desperate for this to be done after all that my mom has been through. I asked how much for an additional hour - $150 - and I said, okay, just one hour, and I will try and load the rest. I reached out to my siblings, who are all out of state, and they were very mad, but we are on a timeline and needed this done. So, now I have to get my mom to this appointment, and I need to be here for the "movers," but I can't be in 2 places at once. My mom reached out to one of her retired friends, who came and sat with them while I went to get my mom. I gave her friend what I had planned to tip them, because I still felt that the man was at least trying. Perhaps if his "partner" actually helped, they would have finished in three hours. While I was getting her friend oriented, my siblings begrudgingly said to pay for the fifth hour so that we could ensure that this was done. After all, these people represented themselves as professionals. I have never known a professional who not only could not get the job done in the suggested time by U-Haul, they also could not get it done in five hours. That's correct, they still did not finish after five hours. My siblings and I paid over $700 for 5 hours for two "professionals" to load up my mom's thoroughly packed two-bedroom, 900 sqft apartment. Two "professionals' who complained that my mom had too much stuff and it was too hot. In June. While I was at my mom's appointment, the man called me and said again that they couldn't finish, that my mom has "too much stuff," it is "too hot," and now, a brand new complaint, the U-haul was "too far away". Excuse me, what? If it was "too far away," why in the world did they not ask me to move it to what would be most convenient for them? I am thoroughly irate at this point. I told the man to stop, I did not want any more excuses. I reached out to the friend at the apartment and asked that she not give them the tip, but it was too late. Not only did they take off immediately after I got off the phone, but they left the U-haul ramp down! This poor lady tried to get the ramp

Working with David Rodriguez was great at the beginning. He was professional, responsive, and very…read morefriendly. He helped me move large items out of my home and into storage unit, then moved everything out of the storage units into my new home. They worked hard and I treated them with respect and kindness -- I even gave them doughnuts, pizza, and beer to thank them for all the hard work. I'm a firm believer that it's not what you look like that makes for a great customer experience. It's the service and support before, during, and after the sale that makes a lifelong customer. This is where David and R&W Moving failed me after such a great start. They used no moving gear to protect anything so all of my items not already boxed or toted by me were exposed to the expected U-Haul abuse. No moving blankets, no straps, nothing to keep the contents of my home safe. As a result, anything I didn't wrap up myself was scuffed, chipped, or otherwise cosmetically damaged. Fine. Things happen and for the cost, I dealt with it. There was only item I requested he and his crew please be careful moving -- my brand new treadmill. It was only a year old and I needed it delivered in one piece. They got it out of my home, loaded into the U-Haul, and dropped off into the storage unit. Instead of using the gas spring to keep the item level and upright, they place it folded on its end caps and closed up the storage unit. Fast forward a month, now it's moving day for everything's final destination in our new home. Upon delivery, the plastic casings that cover the length of the treadmill and the caps to which they connected were deformed from the weight of the unit and June heat. I brought this to Dave's associate who contacted him immediately. Dave arrived and tried to fix the damage, but to no avail. He told me to look up the items and if it warranted a claim with his insurance, he'd handle it. If not, he "work something out with me" to make it right. Well, after multiple texts, calls, and FB messages, he continues to ghost me. I told him I wanted to work this out with him, but he's continued to ignore my pleas for a conversation. I'd rather leave great reviews for the way things started, but unfortunately it appears Mr. Rodriguez has a history of this behavior based on other reviews I didn't read prior to engaging his company for help. What really bothers me is that I spent lot of time speaking with him about his friends, family, and the area in which we both live and work. I even gave him some shelving I was going to sell as a thank you for helping me out. He's a nice guy but this isn't the way you handle a problem. It's unprofessional and makes otherwise rational, understanding clients take to Google reviews just to get some closure. It's truly disappointing because I think Dave has a great personality and work ethic which could afford him so much more business. Final feedback - you get what you pay for. If a couple of guys in a U-Haul with a Dodge Durango and a dolly to clear out your garage or barn are what you're after, you can't beat R&W Moving for the price. If you want care taken of your home and its contents, pay the extra for a real moving company.
