The friendly smile behind the counter when you enter has been replaced with emptiness and two barely responsive touchscreens "Powered by Concept Ate Rewards" that will infuriate you enough to walk back out of the store before you fill your hangry burger craving. The three staff that were present in the kitchen were either oblivious to our presence or simply didn't care. We persevered through the agony of ordering. The touch screen literally required the sort of pressure you'd need to pop the worst kind of massive pimple. It took ages to get it to allow me to pay with the attached eftpos terminal. Just avoid these things and use the barcode on the table, or just go somewhere else. The food is fine. It's just what you need if you're after delicious dripping burgers. They taste great! The drink inclusions on our ordered failed to arrive unprompted halfway through the meal however. I think the days of friendly and familiar hipster diner or take out burgers are gone with this brand. It seems to have been past over to a conglomerate destined to suck the life force out and milk whatever profits may trickle in from home delivery service. The seats are worn, the toilet feels icky, the touch screen to order from was a little slimy. If you look past all that though you'll wonder who styled the place. It's a mish mash of all sorts. Had higher hopes for this place given its reputation I mean it is strikingly similar to Grill'd or any other mid-scale burger joint. Having had and loved the Huxtaburger at its original store as a takeaway the dine in experience here was a never again experience! I'm not at a rave concert the techno music was unbearable, the lazy staff who walk over a water hazard at the leaking Coke machine and to busy chatting to buddies to the balsa wood style cutlery I'm not in 'Super Max' or on Qantas Flight QF1 to London (see pic) the knife buckled under the pressure of cutting part of a soggy bun! If i could give this 0 stars i would. wow where do I begin. I ordered my burger and fries online. As i know that it would take about 20-25 mins to get there. It actually ended up taking 40 mins to get there. Next getting someones attention took 15 minutes. The only reason i didn't walk out was because they had taken payment online. I asked if my burger was ready they said that they had "forgotten to make it". First they didn't even say that they where sorry. all they said is that they would make it now. haha last time i checked now is like 10 minutes not another 45. they had put my order at the back of the line and put new ones in front of it. i asked about 3 times by the third time they cracked it at me. they said "it will be made when its made got they. you know that i can kick you out for being a bad customer." After that i said give me my money back now , they where like sorry but nope you have being a rude customer so u can walk about or wait. Also there cleanliness or should i say what cleanliness. first no profeshaly attired chefs just T-shirts and hoodies with the hoodie strings going into all the food. but what was worse was one of the girls that prepare the burgers and 80's hair, unwashed pony til that was not neatly put up but so messy that you could see the hair fling everywhere. Having booked tickets for a film at the newly opened Lido cinema a few doors down, the boy and I were pushed for time so thought we would pop in for a 'quick' burger. It was very early on a Saturday evening so didn't think it would take long given there aren't THAT many burgers on the menu but alas.... A classic Huxtaburger, a Denise and one small chips to share took 35 minutes to land on our table. I don't really think that's acceptable for a burger joint, or am I just being picky? Given we were going to miss the start of our film, we scoffed the burger down in record time. I actually liked the burger (but pickles, so many pickles...yuck), but took issue with the after taste of oil from the chips. I know the store is fairly new so I'm hoping they improve their timing - especially as they will have loads of cinema goers churning through their doors on Friday and Saturday nights - and change that oil more regularly. Until then they lose a star. Don't take it personally Huxtaburger, but I think Grill'd is still my favourite...sorry.... read more

I was never a fan of Huxtaburger, and unfortunately this location hasn't managed to persuade me otherwise. The fit out is cute for what is basically a large corridor, but the burgers...well...they are ok but mine came out absolutely DROWNED in mayo. Better options elsewhere. read more

Meh just about sums it up - dirty tables in an almost totally empty restaurant is inexcusable. I've seen cleaner food preparation areas too with boxes piled up in places. I absolutely love the Huxtaburger Hawthorn store. As a local and a burger lover I have been coming here since its opening day and at this point I have probably eaten in around 20 to 30 times and ordered delivery from here around 5 times. I never really thought to give them a review until I noticed its terrible reviews while checking in for dinner tonight. In all the times I have come here the service has always been fantastic no matter if it was at 1pm and fully packed or 11pm and we are the last ones here. Everything has always been very clean and the staff are always polite and helpful. The decor is also wonderful and they always play good music at a reasonable volume. I love the food, my particular favourite being their signature Huxtaburger burger which is my Number 1 burger I have ever tried. They also do great sides, milkshakes, beer and super cheap and yummy ice cream. I would highly recommend Huxtaburger Hawthorn for both their food and service. I hope to come back here another 30 times, or more! read more

Nothing like getting home from work with no motivation to cook and having Huxtaburger delivered. The burgers are so dang good, and the fries don't disappoint either. I've never been into the actual restaurant but the delivery is always fresh and correct! Would recommend. read more

complete waste of money, went in for the first time last week after hearing mixed reviews but wanted to try it out for myself. Although the staff were nice the food was horrible, cold soggy chips and soggy burgers. there's about 5 better places to grab a burger on the same street! won't be trying here again read more
