After going to Jamaica Breeze quite a few times, the baseline reality here remains rock solid: they…read moredo not disappoint. When you walk in for the lunch or dinner rush, the sheer volume of options hits you immediately. The protein lineup alone is a masterclass in variety, covering every angle from deeply smoky jerk chicken, BBQ, and rich brown stew to curry goat, tender pork, and pristine fish like porgie and red snapper. It's supported by an endless array of staples--perfectly executed rice and peas, clean white rice, green bananas, and sweet, caramelized plantains. There is quite literally too much to list, but the execution remains remarkably high across the board. The staff keeps the line moving with a pleasant, welcoming energy, and while the legendary Jamaican breakfast menu remains uncharted territory for me, the dinner rotation alone makes this place an automatic favorite. Food (4/5): A massive victory for variety and flavor. To pull off this many traditional Caribbean proteins--from oxtail and curry to perfectly fried fish--and keep them all consistently tender and deeply seasoned at a buffet scale is a serious achievement. Decor (3.25/5): Unpretentious, functional, and clean. It's a space built for high-volume neighborhood traffic where the visual focus is kept exactly where it belongs: on the food. Customer Service: The staff is consistently warm, patient, and efficient, maintaining a welcoming neighborhood vibe even when the counter gets absolutely slammed. Price: Around $15 per person. For a heavy, high-quality, fill-your-plate to the brim ..... Caribbean feast in this day and age, the value here is completely unmatched.

It is in the parking lot of Walmart/Home Depot but closer to the BJ's side. The wait was a bit long to order the food. They have a great ordering system in that they have a megaphone to call out your receipt number. I had a bit of a wait to receive my food. I initially went for corn soup and I should have just stopped ordering right there. The corn soup was very tasty. I didn't care for the dumplings that they had in it though. I poured pepper in my soup and it was real nice. I should have gotten two soups. I got an aloo pie with channa, pepper, tamarind, mango, cucumber, and chadon beni. This could have used more flavor, which is surprising, especially with all of the toppings on it. I got bake and saltfish with tamarind and pepper. I truly did not like or enjoy this at all. I took one bite and knew I shouldn't eat anymore. I took another bite to be sure and after that bite decided to just take my L and throw it all out. The saltfish was rubbery, at room temperature, and it tasted off. The bake itself seemed like it would taste okay but it was soggy and soaking in liquid. I literally opened this shortly after getting it so i don't know how the bake could be so soggy. I would not recommend the bake and saltfish at all. The aloo pie is okay but it wasn't giving what it needed to give. However, the corn soup was delicious. Def go for the corn soup.

A Reliable Haven Near JFK (Especially for Late Arrivals!) I…read morehad been on a work assignment in the area for a while and have visited The Door several times. Each experience has been even better than the last, and it has quickly become a reliable local go-to. My most recent visit really saved the day. I had family fly into JFK, and by the time they got through the airport, it was after 8:00 PM. They were starving, and The Door was one of the few quality places nearby where we could actually sit down for a proper meal at that hour. As usual, it did not disappoint: The Food: Even late in the evening, the food was excellent and--most importantly--fresh. The Service: The staff was friendly and incredibly fast, which my hungry family definitely appreciated. The Vibe: There were some gentlemen at the bar having a very good time (read: they were a bit noisy!), but it didn't take away from the meal. The overall experience was still top-notch. I was once again so glad I chose to eat here. If you need a welcoming spot with great food near the airport, this is it!

I ordered the ackee and saltfish for pickup, but by the time I arrived home, oil had spilled all over the bag. The dish itself contained an excessive amount of oil, and the packaging was not sufficient for a takeout order of this nature. I highly recommend utilizing better, leak-proof packaging for these specific types of dishes in the future to prevent this from happening to other customers. I was quite disappointed, which is unusual because I have never had a bad dine-in experience during my previous visits. Overall, your food is great, but this recent occasion did not live up to that standard.

It was already a few others in there, music was blasting, we were greeted as we walked in and given the option table or bar seating. The service was really good and friendly. Our waitress was Stacy and she was attentive and fast. Dena Kay also assisted and she was just a sweetheart. We indulged in the happy hour menu which has a good deal of options and the price is really good. The drinks and food are all $8.95 with the exception of 2 food items which are $9.95, still a good price. We had the passion fruit martini and margarita- both were good and not watered down. For food we had the yummy sticky wings, champagne mussels, fried chicken dumplings, and crab dip nachos. The champagne mussels were amazing! That sauce is to die for. The wings were good. The crab dip was tasty but I think it's a little too watery. The chicken dumplings were okay, nothing special. Only recommendation to management /DJs is to turn the music down just a tad. The vibe and music is always great, but we still wanna be able to hear our conversations without yelling or struggling

My boyfriend suggested we come here after a long day at work to relax, eat, and watch the basketball game. To be fair, the music was good and we were greeted and seated immediately, so initially everything seemed fine. Unfortunately, things went downhill very quickly. I ordered a Caesar salad with salmon, and there was a ROACH in the food. Not near the plate. But crawling FROM my the salad. Completely unacceptable and honestly disturbing. The waitress apologized and offered to remake it free of charge. At that point I should have left, but I tried to give the place the benefit of the doubt and stayed. Then the bill came and they STILL charged me for the salad with the roach in it. That alone told me everything I needed to know about the level of professionalism and sanitation standards here. Between the unsanitary food preparation, unproportioned BBLS, and the overall atmosphere, I would never trust this establishment again. First and absolutely last time coming here
