If I could give this place a negative I would. Kate worked on my hair 09/26/2020
After reading good reviews about Hush and Wonder Salon, I ask for a light caramel balayage. She gave me highlights, I asked for honest opinions from friends, everyone clearly seen the back was very choppy discolored. I asked Kate to fix it, she schedule me in for 09/29/2020, she said that if she did not change the entire color of the top of my head, it would not look right the colors would not blend together, Kate said trust her, she was going to make the color look fantastic. Kate turned me around from the mirror, said she wanted to surprise me after she corrected the first mistake, I could see my hair falling out as she was blow drying it and brushing it, and then I heard scissors. I told her not to cut my hair, then she tried to curl it, that was enough heat for my hair, so I told her no. I asked for the mirror so I could take a look, she had cut the crowning of my hair off, it wasn't a blended cut it was a straight cut across the back of my head, Kate has chopped half my hair off because she damages it so bad, she could brush through it. My hair completely dry and fried. She gave me an empty bottle of Olaplex and told me it might fix my hair. I left her house and cried my eyes out all the way home. Kate charge me $207 my first visit, Which she refund after I threatened her that I would report her to the Arizona State Board of cosmetology and speak with her land lord about her business in their home. She tried to keep her tip and refund the amount she charges, I told her no, I gave her a chance to keep half and she said she'll do a full refund. She has a off attitude, something definitely isn't right with her.
Her salon has a location of Tempe but if you make an appointment, she will direct you to her rented house which she stated is not approved by her land lord to run a business there. It was completely none of my business what goes on in her personal life, now that I have done my research she does not have a permit, a sanity station or the correct protective equipment to run a salon in there. I lost my confidence and cried for days every time I seen my hair. ( think of it like a extra crispy bacon and it keep cracking and breaking apart) I spent an extra amount of money on deep conditioning and hair moisturizer, it's slowly healing.
My husband scheduled an appointment with a professional salon (Alter Ego Salon and Spa) the staff have been more than amazing with helping me fix the damages KATE has done. I do not recommend anyone to schedule and appt with Hush and Wonder Salon. She definitely isn't following Arizona State Board of Cosmetology rules and regulations. Nor does she care about the damage she does to your head as long as she gets the color she wants, not what you want, what she wants. read more
