The results of my two facial surgeries are very good, and the scars are negligible, which is important for a facial surgery. I could hear the interaction between Dr. Tolan and his surgical staff during my second surgery. They were professional but light-hearted, and demonstrated an interactive team approach to the entire surgery process. I was also informed of costs upfront, and details of the billing. That was refreshing. The clinic is well run, appointments usually run on time, and Dr. Tolan spends the requisite amount of time with each patient. I never felt rushed, and was treated courteously by staff and nursing. Seeing Dr. Tolan did restore my faith in the medical profession. I have not had such a positive experience at other clinics and during other surgeries. I am also a health care lawyer so I tend to be a bit critical. I highly recommend Dr. Tolan and his team.

He did confirm that no laser resurfacing was done around the mouth area like he did with the eye area and thus there are still prominent wrinkles. Said he would put in a filler for another $600 that should last 9 months. I felt this should have been done for free given that I was not pleased with the results. I used 4 of the 6 sessions and quit going altogether. I would not recommend this company to anyone. My experience was horrible. I had to work around Jasmine's personal schedule. She told me that she didn't want to drive 30 minutes to perform a 20-minute procedure for one person so she would prefer that I schedule my appointments when she had other clients scheduled. I mentioned that mornings work best, yet she scheduled appointments no earlier than noon. She told me that Thursdays (my days off) don't work well for her because she has to pay for a babysitter on those days. She told me I couldn't schedule an appointment during one full week because her child was having surgery. She would cancel appointments that I had scheduled in advance with some type of an excuse. Every time I walked through the door she was on a personal phone call...perhaps she should have been spending her time researching the products she was selling because she was clueless on just about every question I quizzed her on. I asked her if I could come in 2x/week for the procedure and she said no, that I could only come in 1x/week for this particular procedure...then she later contradicted herself and said I could come in 2x/week. Every time I called to schedule an appointment she would ask what the procedure was and what part of the body it was on...she should be looking this up so she knows her clients rather than asking every time. Doesn't matter anyway because she put the pads in different areas on a few occasions so I had to remind her. Even the electronic reminders sent to me indicated the wrong area of the body. I asked her how long it would be before I would see results (I hadn't noticed any results after 3 sessions), and she was all over the place with her answers. Ironically on the 4th session I felt warmth during the procedure which I should have been feeling on all the other procedures in researching this procedure...doesn't make me feel confident that she was even doing the previous procedures correctly. It appears that there is only one blanket in the office that may get used for every client as I noticed she would fold it up and put it back on the shelf rather than in a laundry bin. When I asked her how long she had worked there she told me a couple of months, her friend got her the job because her friend knows the owner, she took the job because it was easy. I could go on and on but you get the jist.

I was warned of the post treatment burning sensation and of the possibility of inflammation. Those both happened to a degree which I don't feel I was warned about. On day 6, I developed what I thought was a rash/infection by my mouth. I contacted my doctor since it was a Sunday, and was advised to be seen in person. Turned out that I had gotten shingles (I have been vaccinated)! I was prescribed an Antiviral as well as some ointment. I had also sent an email to Belladerm. They did contact me on Monday and offered to call in a prescription for an Antiviral. I feel like some sort of partial refund for the issue would have been an appropriate gesture. I will say that my skin tone from the treatment is a little better, but not TWO THOUSAND dollars better (plus the cost of the doctors visit and prescriptions). It was not money well spent. I did learn my lesson.
