Disappointed. I was referred here from a friend. I visited Dermatology Consultants in both Woodbury and Eagan. I originally scheduled a mole check and had one additional question, but was told I couldn't address anything beyond the mole exam during that visit. I ended up making a separate appointment for my other question, which required me to take time off work. The provider saw me for about two minutes (literally) to answer my question, and I was still charged a full visit fee. A medical staff said that didn't seem accurate that I couldn't do both in the same visit. I reached out to the billing department but nothing was resolved. I guess it's my fault for saying I had an additional question when I called to make the appointment. Next time I won't. I was told some providers allow you to ask an additional question or a couple of questions during an appointment, and some don't. I gave two stars because I did genuinely like the providers themselves, but I won't be returning. read more

Love Dermatology Consultants. This location is easy access and never have a parking problem. The best day for me is Friday and I can always see Dr. White and her group. She, like so many others is really quite good and thorough. Also, like the desk staff. Very helpful as are the PA's. Can't say enough about how good they are. read more

I have been in Dr. Larson's care since 2010. During my annual physical, my Nurse Practitioner found an unusual mole on my left ankle. She referred me to Dr. Larson who was able to see me in a timely manner, removed the mole, and performed a biopsy. The mole was in fact Melanoma. Within a week, he and his team did a procedure to remove a large margin of skin where the mole was to ensure we removed the full area of Melanoma. He did a phenomenal job with the procedure and the scar is barely visible. For the past 9 years, I have been diligent in my follow up appointments with great reminders from his office. Dr.Larson and his team are professional, caring, and compassionate. They keep me informed of additional prevention ideas and how to stay healthy. I saw Dr. Joe Shaffer for the first time for a Mohs surgery on my face. It was discovered from a different dermatologist , whom of which I cannot recommend from a different company. Dr Joe has this aura about him that puts you at ease the minute he walks in the room. His confidence and assuring puts you at ease immediately which is very comforting when you're in a high stress situation of unknowing. For me it was a one and done procedure and at no time did I feel any discomfort. Stitches just came out and looks like it would be a very tiny scar, I'm excited to see how it heals. I give him the highest of recommendations and will continue to see his wife for my skin care. read more

My family used to go to a competing dermatology provider. We switched to Dermatology Consultants and couldn't be happier. Easier to get appointments, friendly staff and doctors. Appointments don't feel rushed and the doctors do a great job of explaining treatment options, strategies, etc. If you're looking for a new dermatologist, I highly recommend you give them a shot! read more

He first listened to my story and we discussed the situation. He was so easy to talk with and he really cared about me. Compared with a negative experience at a different dermatology office....actually, there IS no comparison. Dr. Joseph Shaffer, assistant Jaime and all the staff I encountered were extremely professional and thorough. I had a 45-minute wait to get in after my scheduled appointment, but several staff members including the doctor apologized and explained the unavoidable circumstances (elderly patients' needs) that caused the wait, which indicated their care for every patient in every situation. Every detail of the Mohrs procedure was explained in detail, and we even shared humor during the process. I have a second procedure scheduled and I wouldn't even consider going anywhere else. Highly recommend this office and doctor, and I'm sure the other doctors there are just as competent. read more

I've been a patient here for more than 10 years. My doctor is great, however it takes forever to secure an appointment - for an annual baseline check. Forget about needing to get in quickly there. Recently had a skin concern, I called to make an appointment with ANY of the doctors at that clinic. NOTHING for over a month out for ANY of the doctor's there. Am considering looking for a new dermatologist. read more

Very disappointed in my experience there. I went in to have several keratoses removed. They were zapped with cryo. Of the half dozen only two of them ended up going away. The others still remain. When I told the office about this, they could only suggest coming back in for additional treatment AND paying for it again. Oh, with a slight discount. I decided to pass on that not so generous offer. Seems to me that when you visit a doctor it's only right to expect a treatment to work. If it doesn't, shouldn't it be on the doctor to make it right, without charging the patient an additional fee? Well, if my expectations are too high, I can live with that. And will go elsewhere for my dermatology needs. read more

Dr. Saxena does a thorough exam and follow-up. She comes into the exam room prepared to discuss how I have been since the last visit and to takes time to listen to my concerns. I have also had a procedure performed by Dr. Joseph Shaffer. His professionalism and follow-up was impressive as well. They are a great team of docs. read more
