Been coming here for my hydrafacial for a year now. The staff were friendly and greeted as I entered the door. The wait was not long before I was calling to get my service. The place is clean. My session was relaxful and worth it. Love the hydrafacial and mask. I am excited to try their other services like laser treatments, chemical peels. The other side of the office is the dermatologist, acne and other specialist that I haven't try yet. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I literally reorganized my whole schedule to be at this appointment and when I get there they tell me it is a 45-55 minuite wait. This is with an appointment! I waited over an hour and was told there were still three patients ahead of me and left. There is no dermatologist I will wait over an hour for, this is horrible care and not considerate towards the patient at all. DO NOT COME HERE seems like they have a habit of being greedy and overbooking instead of providing quality care in a timely manner. P.S. I was not the only patient who left! read more

I wish I could go somewhere else, honestly it is some of the worst customer service you will ever have. I went through the laborious process of getting registered for Accutane only to not have anyone tell me that I was approved for the program. so now I have to start again, which is just ridiculous. No apologies, nothing. Anytime you call expect to wait for 20-60 minutes to talk to someone. NO ONE PICKS UP THE PHONE, and they have no online scheduling system and you have to order products by calling. As a working adult who has time to wait 20-60 minutes on the phone. read more

Awful! I've been a client of Dr Crutchfield's for over 20 years and feel I've been extremely patience over the years as his wait time is extremely long and when he does come in to see you, it is always less than 5 minutes. This morning I had an tel--visit at 9:00am. I waited by the phone and His nurse finally called at 9:40 to check me in. I let her know I have a call I couldn't be late to at 10:00. by 9:59am, Dr. Crutchfield had not come on the line and I had to drop off. The front desk called me at 12:00 to reschedule and informed me there would be a same day cancellation of $75.00. Specifically because Dr, Crutchfield sees over 90 patients a day and he is "specialized" and extremely backed up and I "missed" my appointment even though I was waiting for 59 minutes. She says there is a document I've signed stating the wait is 2 hours And I would be fine with this. Since I've been a long time customer and covid has been at play for the past 20+ Months, I know there is nothing that has been signed stating I'm ok with a 2 hour wait time. As a long time client that has never Missed an appointment, you'd think they would waive this fee. Unfortunately, it seems we are all just $$ signs that he wants in and out. If You are on the market looking for a dermatologist that has long wait times And that dedicate 5 minutes to you; this may be the best dermatologist for you. read more

Not sure how I chose this clinic (oh it is the deceiving ratings) You have to prepare your self to be at least 1 1/2 -2 hours wait, if not more, and for what? So he can come for less than a minute and leaves. I did my first Botox here and one would think he would be of integrity to tell you what's involve and my mistake is that I assumed the price range would be like most of the advertising you see (comparing to the ones I saw at Edina Plastic Surgery) Oh my oh my, I had to pay $580 and he said, I still have some that I can use after 3 months or so I come back after few months and they say, I have to pay more to have the full treatment What a rip-off The most expensive Botox I will ever have I had another one but thankfully it was in Edina and for less than half that price read more

I waited 3 months to be seen, I wanted to see DR Crutchfield,, couple days before my appointment they called me that he was not going to be able to see me because he was on a medical leave. I was like ok let's reschedule my appointment with Dr Crutchfield so they gave me the appointment 2 months out. So today I got there and to find out I was not going to see DR Crutchfield because he is still out for medical leave I was fine with that but why noooo one called me to let me know ...also I never got a courtesy /reminder call for my appointment. I was in te waiting room for 1hr. The Dr I saw he was good! But still want to bee seen by DR crutchfield. I hope he come back soon!!!best wishes for him. read more

I waited over 30 minutes to be seen for my initial appointment but I didn't trip because I knew I was going to bend his hair for that length of time and was going to make his patients behind me have to wait even longer. Dr. Crutch field has free wifi in the lobby which helps to keep you occupied on your electronics. Also, he had a TV monitor that displays testimonials, jokes, the weather and other useful yet random tidbits to entertain. I appreciate the free samples of Dove soap at the receptionist desk that is up for grabs. Since Dove is the only brand I use, I made sure to get enough to last me the rest of the year :/ As for me bending his ear about my problems, that never happened. He spent two minutes in the room with me and then told me that I would have to make an additional appointment to speak about anything else. Of that two minutes, he spent half of it giving his assistant instructions for the prescription he was prescribing. I guess, I expected a little more professionalism considering how long it took me to get an appointment with him and wait to be seen by him. As for my skin problems, they still exist. Time and money wasted. read more

I'm not one to make reviews, but today my experience with Crutchfield Dermatology was extremely disappointing. I have never had a worse customer experience in my life. I was so upset and sad to the point of tears in my eyes as I was leaving. I was told to come in at 3:45 PM for a facial and follow up with Dr. Crutchfield after to have my milia removed per his plan made for me. When I arrived I paid a copay and after about 30 minutes I asked if I needed to pay for my facial right away or after and explained I was told to have the facial done before seeing the Dr. I was told I could pay after. I then waited an hour and 30 minutes (which I already expected because I was a patient for many months back when in 2012/2013). I didn't mind because I had been waiting over a month for this facial and removal of the milia so I was excited and only remembered amazing experiences and results as a previous client years ago. Then when I was called back by the nursing support staff, she took me to a room and saw I was given the wrong arrival time, that they had the wrong number and address on file and did not have my updated insurance information even though I verified that information before my first virtual consult( which they also forgot to follow up to set up an appointment until I sent an email, see screenshot below). She told me there was no other staff available or cross trained to get me in for a facial and that I wouldn't be able to see the Dr. I explained that I called a week before my appointment to confirm my arrival time because I did not receive any follow up emails , texts or calls. I asked if I could at least get my milia removed that's all I actually wanted and no one including the Dr. was unable to do that either. So essentially, I wasted two hours sitting there for no service, and paid a copay for nothing. I was not offered any free products or even a gift card for the inconvenience. I was given a number to call about getting a refund, but I'm not hopeful they will even do that for me. I used to rave about this clinic for YEARS to anyone who had skin concerns, but never again. I do not want to be seen here at all anymore and will be looking else where. The ONLY staff member that genuinely was upset for me and wanted to make things right was Andrea(thank you for trying your best). Overall, I just feel like they genuinely don't care about their clients especially after reading other negative reviews I can officially confirm its true after today. As I was leaving Dr. Crutchfield walked right past me without even the slightest acknowledgment. If you want to overbook, not pay attention to details that matter, waste my time and take my money with no regards to proper costumer service just be transparent and say that. read more

I would also give NO stars if possible. I have been a patient here for 15 years and have had basil cell cancer removed 2x. I called today to make an appointment because I have a very suspicious looking 'mole' that has doubled in size recently. The earliest they can get me in is THREE MONTHS from now?!? Based on my history and the years I've been coming here, I can't believe that's "the best they can do". This place is ridiculously overbooked and I am headed elsewhere. The wait to get an appointment on top of the lengthy wait once you're there is most certainly NOT worth it!!!!! read more

BAD FILLER, under eye filler Things they do not tell you that should be verbally expressed before getting filler done. Here's a few risks. Risk: -If you do not like the filler and wish to remove some there's a chance you may get a dent in your skin. -Removing filler will remove your natural plump volume -Puffy under eyes -MRI studies show filler can last 8 years or longer and can migrate to other areas -Tyndall effect, fillers can leave blue hues in your skin I had gotten undereye fillers at Crutchfield, was badly placed. Few months after filler was put in, one eye was always puffy. First Day I came in to remove some I was notified that it may cause an indent- I was so scared I walked out the clinic without any removal. Later to return cause it bothered me so much. I did get a dent in my cheek. So he added more filler, to much. It was painful. Have returned many times to get rid of this filler. After I got the indent I was informed then that removal of fillers can remove your natural hyaluronic acid. Lost so much natural volume in my face, you can't get this back. Indents, dark spots and puffy filler still remains. This has left me drowning in my tears and have lost all hope of coming anywhere close to comfortable in my skin. I do not want anyone to suffer like this. If you feel okay with your self and want some improvement I'd say try PRP or PRF. Guasha, jade rollers. Top collagen powder. I encourage all natural ways. Do allot of research before getting a filler placed under the eyes. I know fillers have really helped some people. I may have been just an unlucky one. I hope this message helps someone. Crutchfield does meet briefly at any appointment. His lack of interests of communication with patient's I think will hurt him with gaining experience. Other than this my experiences have been good- he would give me a first time discount, on a couple things he suggested. If Crutchfield dermatology wants to do anything for me I request that they notify patients of these risks verbally and make them wait a week at least before getting the fillers. It's important to stress the risks and make the patient think about it if you have any morals. Don't sugar coat things that could ruin someone's life. read more

Appointment was at 9:00am and it is almost an hour and was told they have two more people in front. I have been here a couple times and it is the same wait EVERY time !!! Over booking appointments is a NORMAL practice here. I will be looking for a new dermatologist. It is extremely rude to treat patients like this. Our time is valuable and it is never taken into consideration. This is unacceptable and obviously NOT going to change. It is HORRIBLE to do this to your patients EVERY visit to your office. Time to change your scheduling practice and put your patients first. When I asked for the first appointment for the day, I was informed the 8:00am is already double booked and this was the same response I have been given EVERY time I try to schedule appointments. This is a normal practice and has been for years. read more

Doctor Crutchfield is really great - super kind to my daughter, but their waiting room process and the time between checking in and seeing the doc is crazy long. I don't know why it is, but it is longer than any other doctor we see. The level of care from the Doc is fantastic, just wish I wasn't so annoyed by how long the wait has been by the time we see him. The long wait is especially hard with kids. read more

Would give 0 stars if I could - I've been a patient of Dr. Crutchfield's for 2 years, and because I have a rare condition and am in medical training myself he told me verbatim "you know your condition better than me, let me know what you need." Par for the course with rare conditions, and not super helpful, but something I am used to and expect, and he was useful for putting in prescriptions that I can't get without a physician writing them. Fast forward to me finding a specialty clinic at Mayo (where Dr. Crutchfield trained) that deals specifically with my condition but is referral only and they instructed me to get my primary dermatologist to send a referral. I called the Crutchfield clinic, left a message, and got a call back from staff saying that Dr. Crutchfield "doesn't do referrals" and when I asked to have him call me back because it is a special circumstance was told that he "doesn't make phone calls to patients," and was given no other options. I left a review on google (patients really have no other recourse for poor care than to warn others away) and they commented on my review that I was not a real patient with the clinic. I have been a patient for TWO YEARS. Needless to say, I am so upset, angry, disappointed, frustrated, etc. Even as someone well-acquainted with the medical system it is close to impossible to navigate, and clinics like this one throw up barriers to patients left and right in the interest of maximizing their own profits. If you have a legitimate dermatologic condition, first of all you have my deepest sympathies - derm is full of clinicians who go into it because it is lucrative and not because they care about their patients. Second of all, go somewhere else that will at least give you referrals if you need it - not here (I recommend UMN academic derm). If you need cosmetic derm treatments, read through the rest of the comments on here, I wasn't impressed by those either. read more

I write this as I sit here waiting... almost an hour past my appointment time. There were 4 other people that checked in with me at the same time for the same appointment time. They have an almost condescending sign at their desk saying you should be happy to wait this long for great skincare. I don't think that's how it works. edit: After the appointment (finally!) I can say I got what I needed however the time with the doctor was extremely brief. i honestly believe Crutchfield is a great doc, but he needs to dial back the overscheduling. it comes off as greedy. there were a good 15 people waiting when I left. I am still frustrated with the appointment time and my follow up i have made sure to make end of business hours so I don't miss meetings and work like I did this time. read more

After trying to find a dermatologist I came across Dr.Crutchfield! He was highly recommend by a lot of people I know. I recently started to experience hormonal acne and I was devastate because I was used to having clear skin. I had an initial virtual consultation with Dr.Crutchfield and he set up a plan that worked great for me. He also was able to help me by removing a small elevation of skin on my forehead I was concerned about and it was painless. Currently I am over the moon with my treatment by Dr.Crutchfeild and his team. I feel confident again and now I barley wear makeup because my skin is clear and the small elevation of skin is smooth and flat! Thank you guys so much. read more

I would not recommend going to see Dr. Crutchfield. Not only is the wait time insane he does not spend more than 30 seconds with you unless you are paying a lot of money for a cosmetic procedure like botox or fillers. The "nurses" do all the work for him and none of them, or at least most of them have not had ANY formal medical training. You can just tell walking into the clinic that is a very toxic environment. While the front desk people are very friendly and helpful you can just tell they do not get treated very well. If you want a dr that is just interested in taking your money, then go here, otherwise go somewhere else. read more

Great service that was thorough and not at all rushed. I know that this is a very successful practice so I was surprised to see Dr. Crutchfield personally with my routine skin inspection. He took his time with me answering all my questions and made me feel like I was the only patient he had that morning. I underwent a minor procedure in a timely manner and was on my way. The time from my scheduled appointment until the time I exited the office was 40 minute. I will gladly go back next year for my annual check up read more

First off, Dr Crutchfield as a person is probably great. However, his staff and techniques are far from it. They do not use the correct treatments for acne scars, hyper pigmentation and uneven skin tone and general skin issues. I now live in California, where the cosmetic dermatology is unparalleled compared to Minnesota. Nonetheless, if you are in MN and have acnes scars, acne, or anything wrong with your skin you should seek a dermatologist that has a different view on how to treat skin. I'm all about one thing, which is results and the treatments Dr. Crutchfield had me do in retrospect made my skin worse. He has a "comprehensive way or all different way to approach a problem philosophy", which resulted in a lot of wasted money. Everything from the hour ad half waits to the treatments, to the rude nurse who had the worst power trip, it was just awful. He also does not give you the time a day when you are in his office. He probably spoke to me for less then 5 minutes before he tuned it over to the nurse. Being a young, highly educated person like myself who interacts with hundreds of people a week, I could easily tell he wasn't present while he was in the room and I felt so rushed. He prescribed numerous creams after I told him I already tried creams, which i evidently bought because I was desperate. I also underwent the platelet rich plasma (PRP) also known as the "vampire facial", which cost $1,000 dollars and was a total waste of money. He then put me on saline injections every two weeks for three months for my acne scars, which I will loudly say, DO NOT DO. The dermatologist here in Calif. were taken back by this treatment. You should not be pinning you face with saline if you have scars. He also performed multiple keloid injections every two weeks for two months to a keloid on my chest. He injected it so many times that the keloid went inward then came back twice as big. I told him boldly that the scar is already going inward, let alone he still injected it, which obviously cost more money. I'm someone who travels for a lot for work so my appearance means everything to me. If you are in MN and need any type of skin care, especially for acne scars, please seek out a dermatologist with better reviews, at least 4 stars who have an extensive history on lasers, preferably the V-Beam Perfecta, or an IPL. read more

Will never go here again or recommend. I called the office to ask them if the procedure I wanted could be done there, they assured me it was something the Dr did. I made the appointment, filled out all the paperwork, (again, writing down what I was looking for) and the day of my appointment, which was virtual, I waited forever, and when the dr came in he said we don't do that here and walked out. He had the nurse give me another number to call. So I literally saw him less than 30 seconds. You guessed it, still charged full amount! What a joke. There are much better clinics around. read more

I have waited over eight months past the conclusion of my treatment so that I could give a full and thorough review. Symptoms: Acne since puberty. There is still never a time when there isn't a pimple on my face. I have tried all the creams and scrubs. I want to get rid of this. Treatment: Accutane Total list of Side Effects or new physical ailments since starting the Accutane: Rash around nose, eyes, mouth, hands. Dry skin. Started getting Stye's and chalazia's (I've never had them before). Weakened muscles and joints. Easily injured, slow to heal. Weird dark spot in inner corner of left big toenail that makes my toenail grow out strange in that spot. That is finally just now going away. I didn't think it was related to the Accutane but... google it. The first month of treatment I developed a skin rash on my hands, and around my nostrils. He described this as "Accutane induced eczema". He prescribed a steroid cream that he made in house. A weaker one for the face and a stronger one for the hands. It worked okay at first but the rash around my nose kept coming back. I found that using a lotion with colloidal oatmeal worked just as good for the hands so I ended up using that instead and coincidentally, the rash didn't come back on my hands. The rash on my nose however, kept coming back. After several months I developed tiny little bumps around my eyes. He kept giving me stronger and stronger steroid creams, the rash was a constant issue. He tested me for an auto immune disease (negative) and gave me even stronger, prescription steroids which worked great but the rash came back shortly after as I stopped using it. He put me on 2 rounds of prednisone (the prednisone did not got rid of the rash). At the end of my Accutane treatment, I thought the rash would go away. (I was on it for about 9 months.) It did not go away even after several months. I kept using the steroid creams I was prescribed, as prescribed. It got to the point where if I just went one day without using the steroids, I had horrible burning skin with tiny itchy bumps ALL over my face. It was painful, it was sore, it was UGLY. I started to look online. I wish I had done that sooner. I discovered that STEROID creams were BAD FOR YOU! If you want to know more about this, research "Steroid cream withdrawal" or "Topical Steroid Withdrawal" (TSW). Based on my research, I decided to stop using the steroids. The withdrawal period was intense. The flare ups would also come in spurts, but each time it came back, it was better than the last. Tea tree oil really helped. The first month was the worst. After about 3 months it improved a lot but I still had the rash around my nose and eyes. I decided to see another doctor. I believe that Dr. Crutchfield either didn't know steroids were bad for you, or he did not care. I also feel that they since they produce all their own steroid creams, they might have a vested interest in distributing them. I went to an allergist to find out if I was allergic to anything (I am not). After about 6 months steroid cream free, I could tell that the steroid cream withdrawal was over, but I still had that original rash around my nose I got when I first started Accutane. I asked my Dr. if I could try an antibiotic that I found in my research based on an article I found online written by "Three Rivers Dermatology & Windy Ridge" on "Perioral Dermatitis" (Some place in Indiana, I am not affiliated with them or know anything about them). The article basically described EXACTLY what I had been going through and it suggested trying the antibiotic "tetracycline" or "doxycycline". I tried the doxycycline. It worked! No rash. It was a 7 day treatment. It has now been 2 months since then and my skin is clear, beautiful and healthy. I am very glad I went on the Accutane but I wish I would have NEVER let a steroid cream touch my skin. That was my experience. I hope this helps someone and for god's sake GET A SECOND OPINION! read more

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend a doctor who hardly spends ANY time in the room. His assistant did everything. he was in and out, yet claims that 'quality matters". There is no way he spent enough time with me to provide any level of quality. I also had to wait 60 minutes for this 3 minute visit. My friends warned me but I didn't listen as this doctor seemed reputable in his ads. I've been going to Crutchfield Dermatology for years. They are so frustrating. Awards all over the walls. Not a one for the most consistently long waiting time! If you get out of there in under two hours, you are doing good. I think Dr. Crutchfield knows his stuff, the bedside manor is horrible. He talks so fast and doesn't explain things. Because he's always so far behind, he'll usually stop in your exam room and say "I'll be right with you". If he didn't keep doing that to a of his patients all day he would be at least 10-15 minutes ahead! He looks at you, figures out a treatment plan the speed it out to his assistant in the room, he will then turn to you to see if you have any questions. It's SO frustrating!!!! read more

After my dermatologist left her practice, I was referred to Dr. Crutchfield by some friends. I was impressed by the awards taking up all the space on the walls. While a nice guy - I was left feeling like another number. You speak to the medical assistant for a while and Dr. Crutchfield comes in for, I'm not even joking, 45 seconds. I've had two appointments and this was the case both times. With past dermatologists, I spent more time with the Doctor then the MA. The staff is friendly and so is Dr. Crutchfield but spending more individual time on each patients unique history makes a big impact when someone plans on being a loyal patient. read more

When I was a kid, I developed eczema on my cheeks. So, every time they got itchy and red, it looked like I was blushing. (Awwwwww.) Fast forward decades later... I'm still living in Minnesota and battling the ever-lasting Polar Vortex that totally dries out my skin. Even though I try to embrace the cold as best as possible by moisturizing 24/7, going outside parallels to having my skin being attacked by formless ice demons. I was never built for this cold, considering my roots extend generations of people living in a sunny beach town in Vietnam. Anyways, I found out about Dr. Crutchfield when he lectured in one of my girlfriend's med school classes. She came home and was like, "Oh, you got to meet Dr. Cruthfield. He could help you, and he specializes in ethnic skin!" (Paraphrasing.) I immediately made an appointment and waited for several months. I have to agree with a lot of other Yelpers. That wait it ridiculously long! (Perhaps 30-45 minutes past your scheduled appointment.) During your appointment with him, uou'll find that he's a really jolly guy. During my first, he cracked some jokes about how I had abnormally gigantic shoulders. (He-man, ish.) After the small talk, he'll ask about your problems and quickly diagnose you (since skin is easily diagnosed for the most part). Your time with him will probably be under ten minutes or so, before he moves on to his next patient. As for my treatment, he prescribed light therapy. During the winter, I did just that twice a week for several months. You stand in what looks like some sort of escape pod from an imperial Star Wars battle cruiser, butt naked, and let that light hit ya for less than a minute. While inside, you'll feel like you're being beamed up to a UFO. At the end of my treatments, my skin toughened up and could better withstand the cold. Crazy! Dr. Crutchfield's treatments worked for me, but I'll have to reserve the fifth star, because I believe there's room for improvement. Below are some examples: -Could be more transparent about that fact that you'll wait 30-50 minutes past your appointment time. That's ridiculous, especially for those that have incredibly tight schedules. -Maybe add a TV in the waiting room. I've been bored out of my mind while waiting. -Inconsistent service: Some of their staff members are absolutely wonderful (like the lady that runs the photo therapy booth) and some are probably the rudest people I have ever met (a couple younger receptionists). All in all, after encountering so many dermatologists that prescribe the same topical steroids that don't really heal my skin and make me feel sick, I finally have found a physician that can produce healthy results. Thanks, Dr. Crutchfield. read more

I've been coming for a few years to treat a mild condition. This office seems to have a policy of requiring patients to wait up to an hour for their appointment -- this was my experience when I went in-person (pre-covid) and now with tele-health, I sit around waiting for someone to call with a video link sometime within an hour of my appointment. This is extremely disrespectful of a patient's time. I have no other care providers who organize their practices this way. Dr. Crutchfield can be a bit condescending but is friendly enough in the 2.5 minutes he's with you. read more

Aggressive and Very Aggressive - that is what Dr. Crutchfield told me in regards to resolving my acne issues. I have to say, it has worked. I switched to Dr. Crutchfield after a horrible incident with my Park Nicollet Nurse Practitioner. I have been trying to see a dermatologist at Park Nicollett for YEARS and all they could tell me was "why do you need to see the dermatologist when we have the nurse practitioner that specializes in this that can help you". WHAT?? Well let's just say after visiting this nurse practitioner for a few years (and always prescribing something different and not answering my questions) and ending up in urgent care because she prescribed a drug that I had a severe heart reaction to (didn't check my chart) I decided to do my research and go elsewhere. While my appointment did take a while to get in (I would hope that people would want to come to him - he is freaking amazing and has tons of accolades to boot), I was given at least 30 min as he listened to my history and discussed different options with me. He does have a ton of nurse practitioners and medical school students doing rotations in his office, but they take time to explain why they are there, how long they have been there, and always answer any questions that you have. As someone who has worked in all types of health care settings, including a brief stint in a mini-medical school program, it is SOOO refreshing to meet a doctor that actually wants to help you get results. After setting me up with my treatment regiment, I can proudly say that I have been acne free for almost 6 months!! I am not on Accutane and actually using a creme which I have yet to actually get at the pharmacy only because they keep giving me bags full of samples to take home. I asked at one point why so many samples and the nurse replied, "this is pretty expensive medication and we get free samples all the time - so we would rather give them to the patients to help them out with the costs". AND I got a coupon card for when I do actually need to pick it up at the pharmacy. How many clinics and doctors do you know do that?? Right. If you want a medi-spa, I hear that he's pretty good with these, but he's helped my skin look so good, that I don't worry about that stuff. My face looks good, my heart is happy, and I no longer have to shy away from events due to ugly breakouts. Dr. C is awesome. read more

The most incompetent front staff. I scheduled my appt in June or very early July and was scheduled for this appt for July 31st. They told me I can call back to see if there were any cancellations but my appt was for JULY 31st. I called back July 23rd to see if there were any cancellations. They said yes for July 25th at around 11. Ok cool. They ask for my CC number. I say I dont have my HSA card on me and I would call back with it. They said we cant hold the appt without a card, I said I would call back to give it some thought for the 24th. I call back like two hours later and they had cancelled my appt for the 31st and I could not get int for the 25th either. But I had already made the appt for the 31st Weeks PRIOR. I sent them a complaint and they never got back to me. Rude, inconsiderate and money hungry clinic. Too bad since he is one of the only black derms in MN and I prefer a black derm. I trusted his plan of action. I had to return 2 weeks later and again did not have to wait in the lobby for more than 5 minutes. I saw the nurse and then the Dr came in and explained test results and the plan of care. I felt like it more than met my expectations. I will return again in 6 months, hopefully, to report and confirm a successful regime. read more

Do not show up early for your appointment. In fact show up 1/2 hour late or do not show up at all. Unfortunately I made the mistake of taking my team year old to Dr. Crutchfield. He over books his appointments and recharges you a deposit so you won't bail on them. We spent over 3 hours waiting between 2 appointments. If your looking for Botox or fat sucking maybe this is your guy, but I will never recommend him for any serious medical condition. He proformed an aggressive biopsy on my son when a much simpler procedure would have been sufficient. Then he prescribes something he sells himself and bypasses the pharmacy. I'm still not sure he even got the diagnosis correct. read more

I came in for HydraFacial and my appointment was at 8 am and by the time I sat down and started it was done by 8:25 am I'm confused because isn't it supposed to be 45 minutes long? Just feel like I wasted my money down the drain. read more

After reading the Yelp reviews of Crutchfield Dermatology, I took magazines and a granola bar with me, prepared for a long wait. I was in the waiting room only about 10 minutes before I was taken to an examining room. We did all of the preliminary paperwork and Dr. Crutchfield was in within 15 minutes. He was relaxed, personable and chatty. My phone calls for a follow up visit have been difficult, but not awful. (That's the only reason for a four star review.) read more

Dr. Crutchfield is the best dermatologist in the area, and undoubtedly one of the best in the country. He excels in timely diagnoses and effective treatments. If something doesn't work, he is willing to start from the top and really try to figure out the root cause of your problems. I saw him for acne and my skin has never looked better. I know many people who have seen success seeing him for the treatment of other skin issues like psoriasis, vitiligo, and eczema as well. Also, the Medispa is an amazing place to get a hydra facial or a chemical peel! I've had both and the treatments and staff were exemplary. read more

I've been to Crutchfield Dermatology for a couple of issues I had and I can tell you that my experience with Dr. Crutchfield was extremely dissapointing. I've been to many different doctors and I am a healthcare provider myself. The minimum wait time in the waiting area is one hour with an appointment. And then once the nurse takes you to the treatment room and checks you out, there's another 10-30 minutes of waiting for Dr. Crutchfield to come in. this is a doctor that is money-driven and too busy for all of this patients. Every time I have visited, Dr. Crutchfield gives you a minute to talk, and speaks for a couple of minutes, then rush out. One time, I came in for an injection on my scalp for localized hair loss, and he couldn't find it and flew out of the room without giving me a chance to show him where it is. Then I showed it to the nurse, and it took 30 minutes for her to get Dr. Crutchfield back to the room. Secondly, Dr. Crutchfield will try to sell medications that he "developed", which I found later that I can buy very similarly formulated ones from Walgreens. In my last visit, I went in for an injection again, then at the end of appointment he asked me whether I have any other questions. I answered by asking him about a previous medication he had prescribed for a skin rash which didn't work, and then he immediately suggested that I should buy one of his other medications. I refused to get the prescription and left, only to find out that I was charged $120 for him answering that ONE question and prescribing me something else. read more

Wait for an hour and a half only for the doctor to talk to you for less than a minute. They overschedule or get so behind that patients wait forever and it takes up their whole day. However, they did help me get rid of my acne after many other things didn't work. At first they suggested Accutane, but I looked into the side effects and decided to not go that route because mine was not THAT severe and instead just started birth control and used the topical treatment they gave me which worked great! The appointments are where the frustration comes in with the wait time. read more

If I could give no stars I would. I had a VBeam laser with Crutchfield for telangiectasias (dilated blood vessels). It was just one treatment, which he did aggressively at a high joule setting, even though the last thing I said to him is that I scar easily. So I ended up with a huge blister/bruise/AND a scab, from which emerged scars: a lot of pores around my nose increased in size and depth, becoming like holes in fabric, and some became lines and depressions that look like the eyes of a needle, or like whiskers. The sides of my nose look like hell. And *new* veins emerged from the oxygenation that occurs when skin is trying to heal. I believe I could have healed without these scars if I had any aftercare instructions whatsoever. But I didn't. And when I called to ask what to do about the scabs forming, no one answered. I left a message, and received no call back. When I called again a few days later, the people who answer the line said they'd have told me to use Mederma, but now it was too late. Finally, a couple weeks later, I got in to see Crutchfield, who said, well, you can't really see them. Maybe not in very bright, direct light, but I had photos, portraits, not even up close, in which you could clearly see the scarring. He wouldn't look at them. Instead, he prescribed a retinoid to "plump up" the area--maybe the worst thing that could've been prescribed, I now know, for a patient with rosacea and a genetic condition of a collagen defect (*which he knew about*) and who had just had a laser treatment done. In retrospect, I feel like that was an awful, awful thing to do, prescribe medicine that would only thin out and render my skin more sensitive. And I cannot understand it at all. My skin has only increased in sensitivity since then. In fact, it's a mess. I am still so angry at this man and the marketing that covers his walls. The fact that he overbooks doesn't just mean people are inconvenienced, it means he is doing far too many things at once and making--at least in my case--sloppy errors. I wish I'd have trusted my instincts when I sat down in the chair for laser. I remember thinking the rooms were dingy and dirty, and the video I had just watched not enough prep. It wasn't. I tried to ask for my money back. Their office manager, who is also a lawyer (um, what kind of medical practice requires a lawyer to be on retainer), simply refused. I find their parsimoniousness disgusting. Their replies to reviews here, either passive-aggressively implying that reviewers are lying or straining to show that egregious wait times must mean Crutchfield is so great (really? Or is there just some great marketing going on?), is indicative of what they care about: image, image, image. If only that much energy and time went into patient care. read more

A visit with Dr. Crutchfield consist of a 45-60 minute wait time even with an appointment, which then you are someone into a room by the nurse who tries to entertain you for 30 min. again until Dr. Crutchfield rushes into the room. He barely asks any questions before making a diagnosis-- which typically consists of overpriced injections, skin care products which are 'invented' by him but you can find the EXACT same ones that are much cheaper ones over the counter, and medications (also you can find over the counter). Then he runs out of the room-- litterally talked to me for 2 minutes max. I was billed a monsterous bill afterwards-- I truly felt like I did NOT receive a genuine quality treatment but was charged like I did. I called their office to talk to Dr. Crutchfield but was told that I would not be allowed to talk to them and forward it to their billing department instead. I would never go to Dr. Crutchfield again read more

The bad: -You have to plan at least an additional hour beyond your scheduled appointment because the wait times are ridiculous. -Once you see the doctor, you only get to see him for about 5 minutes. I'm not exaggerating. I have even timed this. You are clearly just another number to him because he seems eager to get out of the room on to his next number. I was still asking him questions as he was rushing out the door. -You do not get any friendly reminders of your appointment like other places do, but you DO get charged a no show fee of $75 for a missed appointment. -Staff does not seem happy. -All the treatments I've gotten for acne and hair problems never worked. The good: -He did recommend some creams that worked well for eczema. If you want the Wal-Mart service of dermatology, then come here I guess. At least with Wal-Mart, it's convenient and affordable. Here, they want to be known as Saks of dermatology with below par service. read more

I had a disappointing experience with Dr. Crutchfield. I wanted to remove a growing mole on my face and was very clear about my need before scheduling the appointment. After that, spend an hour filling up the extensive paperwork required. On the appointment day, I've waited over an hour to be seen and he spent no more than 1 minute to tell me that in fact he would recommend a plastic surgeon for my case. So, why not telling it before I scheduled, knowing my need? On top of that, the referred plastic surgeon was an Otolaryngology in a sleep medicine center. read more
