She seemed annoyed by my questions and didn't acknowledge my history, even though it's in their system. I left feeling dismissed and frustrated. I've stayed because my records are here, but I won't be back. Bottom line: If you want quick, anonymous care and don't mind seeing someone new every time, this place might work. Update 12/01/25: 1 had an appointment with a medical tattooist, and she didn't want to touch it…read more She said, it's possible she could make it worse and it wouldn't be permanent. My dermatologist said, lasers, such as excimer, are not guaranteed, not permanent and require ongoing treatments indefinitely. Basically, it would be a life long commitment for a treatment that is not guaranteed. It would be very time consuming going three days a week for an unknown amount of time. Therefore, this is not a viable option. Third, I had a consultation with two plastic surgeons in Plymouth. Initially, they didn't want to touch it because the incisions would cause another problem. I would be swapping one cosmetic problem for another one. Since this was my last resort, the head surgeon agreed to do a little research and reach out to other plastic surgeons for their opinion. He said, the problem is pigment can't be restored, therefore, hypopigmentation can't be treated. I should have gone to him first. At this point, I'm waiting for the plastic surgeon to contact me with a possible solution, if any. Of course, this is the most expensive option with the surgeon's fee, anesthesiologist fee and surgical room fee. I'm looking at thousands of dollars However, if they can fix it, I would find a way to pay for it. Apparently, Stillwater Skin & Spa feel they are being unjustly targeted and reminded other businesses to remain vigilant. With that, if the plastic surgeon is able to fix it, l'll attach a copy of his diagnosis, surgical procedure, all fees and a photo of my face post surgery. Regardless, I will attach a copy of the diagnosis I received from each doctor I consulted with. As l've said more than once, one of those doctors is Stillwater Skin and Spa's medical director. They accused me multiple times of not meeting with them and their medical director. Note, their medical director has been my family physician for 20 years. This should put those accusations to rest. It's very important to me to provide the public updates so this doesn't happen to others. In my opinion, the laser services at Stillwater Skin & Spa should be shut down. The tech that worked on me needs more training before being allowed to perform laser hair removal services. This further proves I'm not out to unjustly target Stillwater Skin & Spa. Nobody should go to this business for laser hair removal. I have no opinion of their other services; laser hair removal was the only treatment I had there. Stillwater Skin & Spa also accused me of threatening to write a review if I wasn't given a refund. This is not true. First of all, they refunded me the portion of my package I did not use. I was recommended to the clinic by a few people and reached out to them instead of the U for a skin/spot check after my doctor missed my cancer diagnosis (I'm so glad I kept pestering them and asked for another opinion...thanks Fairview...) Anyway, they already knew my diagnosis at Tareen and they proceeded to do a full body check on all my other spots then they scheduled me for a small surgery to remove the known bad spot. They scheduled me out after the summer to let me enjoy myself before I had sutures and followed up with me about another little troublesome spot that turned out to be nothing but some irritated skin treated with some ointment. When it was time for my surgery Dr Tareen herself asked how my other spot was (I know they have a file they review beforehand but this was so nice and unexpected, her bedside matter is nothing I've ever experienced before - she sees hundreds of people and can still treat each of us like humans). The doctor and the team who cut me and sewed me back up were very nice. I'm glad I brought my book though while waiting in-between checks since the giant TV on the wall with gross pictures made me a little nauseous after a while (and I'm a freakin' vet tech! Maybe I shouldn't have turned down their snacks). Highly, highly recommend Tareen and her team to anyone who needs expert skin care. My husband had a similarly sized spot removed this year as well and he went to the U - his scar is super blotchy and mine you'll barely be able to see in a while. Performed a small procedure then offered to do a laser treatment - for free - because I waited a little bit longer for my appointment 'which is common' in healthcare especially if the doctor is spending time with their patients. No one has ever been so mindful of this fact. They did the treatment and provided TONS of follow up support and provided me with sunscreen or whatever I needed to heal properly. Gaslighting, Sexist, and Medically Contradictory. Do NOT come here…read more I came to Twin Cities Dermatology as a patient with a severe, documented skin condition (Prurigo Nodularis). What I found was a clinic that actively gaslit me, dismissed my documented symptoms, and attempted to rewrite my medical history to avoid taking responsibility. The Gaslighting: I presented with clear, hard nodules on my forehead and body. They initially documented my diagnosis correctly as "Prurigo Nodularis" and started me on a heavy-duty biologic (Dupixent) along with intralesional injections. However, after I raised concerns about my disability paperwork and asked for accommodations, they suddenly changed their tune. They began calling my condition "just eczema." You don't prescribe a powerful biologic like Dupixent for "just eczema." That is a contradiction. They are trying to downplay the severity of my condition to avoid liability. The Sexism: The clinic appears to be exclusively staffed by women, with only one male provider (who is gay). This is not a coincidence. They systematically dismiss straight, Black men as "difficult" or "argumentative" patients. They ignored my explicit request to exclude a specific provider from my sessions. I was not treated with respect or dignity; I was treated like an inconvenience. Refusal to Accommodate: Despite having documented medical records showing I have not been able to work due to the severity of my condition (sleep disruption, concentration issues, mood impacts), they refused to sign my (Disability) form. They claimed they couldn't assess my limitations, despite their own notes stating that my condition impacts my daily activities. Bottom Line: This clinic is not a place for healing. It is a place to be dismissed, gaslit, and under-treated. The doctor and staff will lie to protect themselves rather than help their patients. Do your research, bring your own documentation, and be prepared to fight for basic respect. I will never be returning here, and I hope you won't either.
