Hurry Back Ice cream stand
Marco F.

Some of the best ice cream I've ever had. Allen's service was helpful in deciding a flavor from their variety of choices. It was about 40 degrees Fahrenheit when I stopped by but definitely worth it. Great ambiance with many little stores nearby. I'll be stopping by whenever I'm in the area.

Service with a smile. Loads of tasty options for everyone. My son loved his 50/50 of Chocolate and Vanilla. We will definitely hurry back for more!

Grasshopper and a chocolate (I think - I could be remembering wrong)

Hurry Back Ice Cream is an adorable cart in Sellwood. Their ice cream is made from scratch in the cart. After every order, they encourage you to "hurry back" for more! I enjoyed the ice cream. A couple of the flavors I tried were a little sweet and artificial tasting for me so next time I'd order a little different or do more taste-testing. Their flavors rotate all the time. The texture, serving size, price, and service was all good. And there are a handful of vegan options!

Orange blossom (creamsicle), maple, chocolate hazelnut, grasshopper (mint)

Love that it's a small business and the staff was very nice. Nice selection of both diary and non-diary ice creams. Nothing too out-there but a good variety of some classic and less common flavors (orange creamsicle, maple...) I really liked the texture of the ice cream, perfect creamy and thick. The flavors were alright - I may have chosen wrong - and a little too sweet for my taste. Pretty generous portion sizes too! Would definitely come back to try other flavors though. Plus it's in a little food cart area so there others things around.

Great Customer Service, The Best Homemade Ice Cream in Oregon, Great Environment, Friendly People. They Make Every Batch of Ice Cream made by Scratch in a small cart. They have dairy and non dairy options. My favorites are: Banana Cream Pie, Speculoos cookie, Oh-ree-oh and Butterscotch.

Left: Lemon Poppy Seed, Grasshopper Middle: Strawberry Right: Watermelon, Orange Blossom

I've been coming to Hurry Back since 2015. Probably one of their first customers. Whenever I'm in the Sellwood area it's a must go. My favorite flavors is usually their strawberry or orange blossom. They're not open Mondays and Tuesdays FYI

If I was a billionaire, I'd invest in this shop to open a second location by me in Maine. Small batch and homemade, these ice creams are luscious and delicious. They are not sickly sweet, and they don't need to be. They really let the flavors shine on their own. The thai iced tea is my favorite flavor, though the fresh banana is up there too. This trip already I have visited once IRL and later I ordered a shake from them for delivery to my hotel, which was great! No drop in quality there and they drew a cute little note. The service has always been amazing throughout the years. Got to meet THE Miss Oz herself one visit too! Scoops or in shake form, it's a must visit when we find ourselves back in PDX!

There was lot of seating inside which was nice and a park right next door. Would come back, but make sure to come when there isn't a line or expect to wait.

Employees were helpful, not necessarily friendly. You e got a good array of vegan options. I believe all Made with coconut milk, so if you're not a fan of coconut, this might not be your vegan ice cream spot. I tried the sea salt caramel with chocolate chips, which was vegan. It was good, but the coconut stood out quite a bit (I do like coconut). I ended up with one of the 4 grass-fed dairy options, all the good things, which had caramel ice cream, chocolate swirl and fudge and peanut butter chips. It was good. I had it in a waffle cone for $2 more, bringing my half scoop and cone to $5, I believe. The waffle cone was yummy. I wouldn't say the ice cream was anything more special than you can get in your freezer, but nice to have an option out if you're plant-based. Sorry I forgot to take a photo of the ice cream.

It's upscale ice cream... are you expecting to be disappointed?…read more I'm sure you at least know Salt & Straw by reputation... it's the preeminent ice cream chain in Portland. And for good reasons! The flavors, taste and experience are truly phenomenal. I typically try to visit during the day so that there isn't a long line. If you come anytime after 6 PM, expect to wait a while. It's just that good! The staff is always incredibly friendly and they will let you sample as many flavors as you like before you decide. They have standard staples for flavors and then seasonal ones that rotate every few months. This particular location has very little seating so you should plan to take yours to go. I recommend enjoying it while you stroll on NW 23rd. Otherwise, the staff will be happy to pack up a scoop for you and/or you can take a pint to go! Parking is a typical challenge for this area, but prices are reasonable and you can't beat the service. My favorite part of the experience is that first step into the front door when I smell the fresh waffle cones being made. From beginning to end, it's a scrumptious culinary experience that can't be missed.

As someone who used to work in an ice cream shop, I have very high standards for what is served to the customer - the scoop sizes we received were noticeably inconsistent when compared to past visits & in my opinion, if a scoop doesn't at least appear to fill the cup, either smaller cups are needed or scoopers should be trained to not have their scoops be so compact. One of the scoops in the double mini we ordered was literally 1/3 the size of the other, cost more than the regular scoop but had less ice cream. The regular scoop was compressed into such a tight, dense ball, it was rolling around my cup like a marble on the drive home. We couldn't help but laugh when we looked in our cups because the portions we had just paid for were comical. For prices that are set at a premium, I want to feel like I'm getting my money's worth and don't like walking out of an establishment feeling ripped off.

The place is really cool on the inside with a sample of every donut on display. Yes in that one photo, they have a donut on the ceiling! Ordering was a snap but deciding was another story. Many looked good but I was on a mission. Maple bars and apple fritters. I have had some real good ones so those are my standard. But how could you pass by a donut called "dirty old bastard"? Well I will start with the bad. The apple fritters have plenty of flavor and size but lacked apple chunks of any quality. 3 at best! Maple bar with bacon.
