So glad I don't even need a ladder. I dreaded the process of looking for installers. You never know what to expect from them. You never know who to trust. Thankfully one day, these guys showed up installing shutters in my neighborhood. But I hadn't found them personally. My neighbors from across the street did. The same good neighbors that helped me install some plywood when Irma was about to hit. Communication with DAS was always prompt whether I was dealing with Claudia or Marcella. They answered all of my questions when needed. Measurements of all my windows were taken twice. The first measurement was needed for the price quote. The second measurement was needed later on for confirmation for when they were about to receive the shutter parts. The price quote for parts and installation was very fair and reasonable. I paid 50% down and 50% upon completion. DAS also took care of the permit from the city since I chose this option. However, I was responsible obtaining a letter of approval from my HOA which was simple. On the day of installation, DAS showed up on time as planned. All shutters on all of my windows were installed by one guy which only took 2.5 hours. Unbelievable. I don't know how he did it all by himself. Overall, I couldn't have asked for a better experience for hurricane shutter installation. I highly recommend these guys.

While the process took some time, we had made it clear that we were not in a rush. The removal of fixtures for the old panels left some marks, which was expected since they were originally installed into concrete blocks using a pressurized nailer and heavy-duty nails. These nails are difficult to remove, and occasionally, small bits of concrete come loose in the process. The crew did their best, but some cosmetic damage was unavoidable. Complaining about this would be unfair; it's simply an expected outcome in some cases. Jorge fulfilled all his promises, from handling the permitting to installing a quality product. His pricing was fair, and that honesty was refreshing; something I had almost given up on when dealing with contractors in the Miami area. Jorge restored some of my trust. When I asked him how come it was so high he said that because I'm only doing one door their crew would be losing time to the company as the crew could be at another property installing more than just a door.
