Eleven months after Irma hit and I finally got hurricane shutters installed on my home. Hopefully she doesn't come back this year, but if she does, I'm ready this time around. Thanks to Diversified Aluminum Shutters, I can lock it all up easily in about 5 minutes. Upstairs shutters are locked from the inside. Downstairs shutters are locked with a key. So glad I don't even need a ladder.
I dreaded the process of looking for installers. You never know what to expect from them. You never know who to trust. Thankfully one day, these guys showed up installing shutters in my neighborhood. But I hadn't found them personally. My neighbors from across the street did. The same good neighbors that helped me install some plywood when Irma was about to hit.
Communication with DAS was always prompt whether I was dealing with Claudia or Marcella. They answered all of my questions when needed.
Measurements of all my windows were taken twice. The first measurement was needed for the price quote. The second measurement was needed later on for confirmation for when they were about to receive the shutter parts.
The price quote for parts and installation was very fair and reasonable. I paid 50% down and 50% upon completion. DAS also took care of the permit from the city since I chose this option. However, I was responsible obtaining a letter of approval from my HOA which was simple.
On the day of installation, DAS showed up on time as planned. All shutters on all of my windows were installed by one guy which only took 2.5 hours. Unbelievable. I don't know how he did it all by himself.
Overall, I couldn't have asked for a better experience for hurricane shutter installation. I highly recommend these guys. read more
