We had our doors and windows installed this week. We went with A&M HURRICANE PROTECTION LLC. The other three companies totally ghosted us after dropping their quotes. A&M's salesperson Jason answered questions in an extremely timely manner. If I wrote the email in the evening or on the weekend, he responded. I couldn't have asked for a better sales professional. They even worked with me to install the doors I wanted, even though I did not purchase the doors from them. They installed all the windows and doors in one day. Three trucks and at least 6 employees. They sent back one installer the following day to install the window sills. I could not be happier. Other than some dust (expected) you would never even know they were here. They cleaned up every bit of scrap and removed the old windows, screens and frames. The employees could not have been nicer (even with my non-existent Spanish). A&M was recommended by a good friend so we gave them a call for an estimate. Our sales person was Alain who is THE nicest guy. There is no pressure at all from him to "close the deal". They have a showroom in Miami where you can go see what the windows look like before you make a big commitment. It takes about 8 weeks to order impact resistant windows. On day of install, 3 guys showed up to do our windows. They have a system in place and methodically went from window to window. We were amazed that they were able to get everything done in 2 days! Being that they were installed in July, we really lucked out that the weather held up long enough for them to finish each day. The new windows look great and are modern looking! My house came with metal panels, but I wanted to upgrade to either accordians or hurricane windows. A & M was able to provide both quotes. I ended up going with the accordians, since it was more affordable, but my sister-in-law used the same company and got the hurricane windows. Very unreliable. Sergio came out on April 20, measured the windows and gave me an estimate which I agreed to. He said he would be working on getting the permit and would soon start. It is now one month later and I can't get hold of him nor anyone at the company. I call and they immediately put me on hold and don't come back to the phone. Sergio's cell phone number goes unanswered and his mailbox is full. Now I am back to square one trying to find someone to put up shutters and it's close to hurricane season. Thankfully I didn't give them any money. In addition, their contractor's license has expired. read more

A & M Hurricane "Protection" is without a doubt THE worst company I have had the misfortune of dealing with in my 14 years living in South Florida. One star is being generous! I wanted to protect my home for the 2018 hurricane season so chose A & M after some research and a very high recommendation. These people put on a good show. I contacted the company in mid-February giving myself a four-month window to get the shutters installed. Today is June 26th and I do NOT have hurricane shutters. Sergio Baez, Jr. came to my home in mid-February to take initial measurements and provide an estimate which I accepted. The company provided the documents needed for HOA approval and required to obtain a permit. I obtained HOA approval and A&M obtained a City of Tamarac permit (good for 60 days), which was approved March 23, 2018. With permit in hand, a detailed measurement appointment was scheduled. No one showed up. When I questioned Mr. Baez about this, he said we could go with his original measurements which I find rather odd. This was the end of March. After hearing nothing from the company for six weeks (mid-May), I called to inquire what was going on with my order. Mr. Baez informed me he was very busy and would get to me soon. We finally scheduled the installation appointment for Wednesday, May 30th in the afternoon. The day before installation, Mr. Baez called to inform me they could not make the Wednesday install date because of delays due to rain. We rescheduled for 1 PM the next day, May 31st. I took a half day off work. By 2:15 with no workers in sight, I called Mr. Baez. He did not have the courtesy to call me. He told me he could not install that day because it was getting too late in the day to complete the job. I was very annoyed and disappointed with this second cancellation. I agreed to take a full day off from work to have the installation done on Monday, June 4th at 8:30 AM. Mr. Baez guaranteed the job would be competed that day. Sure enough, by 9:15 no workers. Mr. Baez would not answer his phone. When I called the company office, the receptionist said I was not on the install calendar for that day. After fumbling around for five minutes, she found my original install date for May 30th! I was beyond angry. I told the receptionist I no longer wanted the shutters. This was the third appointment A & M failed to show. Another day off from work was also involved. She told me she would contact Mr. Baez to see what was going on. The returned call five minutes later stated the install was on for the afternoon and Mr. Baez would call "soon" to confirm. At twelve noon, no phone call. A call to the company office got an answering machine. I left a message. At FOUR IN THE AFTERNOON, no calls, no workers. Nothing. It is now over three weeks from the last installation date and I have heard nothing from the company. Nothing. To sum up: missed measurement appointment, missed three install dates, missed a day and a half of work, expired permits, zero communication and worst of all, NO PROTECTION for my home. I started with A & M Hurricane Protection mid- February. Hurricane season started June 1st. Today is June 26th Draw your own conclusions whether to hire this useless company or not. read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Sergio gave me an estimate sometime around April 2018. We came to agreement and I had to sign a bunch of docs. Said it would be a 3-4 weeks for permit clearance and then a couple days for installation. I called them regularly for status and 9 out of 10 times his voicemail was full. Months went by and nothing. No one would call me and I'd call the office and they would take a message and no once would call back. I checked the city website online and saw the permit had cleared around June. Despite the clearance, no one would call me back and the few times I got a hold of Sergio's wife, she would say we'll call you back to set up a day and time. Of course that never happened, and I had given up on them. In October, they called to say they were ready to install the shutters and wanted to go Wednesday. I still wanted the shutters and hadn't hired a new company, so I agreed. The installation seemed to have been done well, but for some reason, the inspection by the city didn't pass. Not sure what they issue is. I have now been calling over and over and weeks have gone by trying to get them to fix whatever needs to be done, to order a new inspection and to finally close-out the open permit on my place. I have left messages and nothing. Finally spoke to Carmen today and she said she would call me back within an hour or so. It's now the end of day and nothing. UNBELIEVABLE!!! My recommendation, go elsewhere. I would have rather paid someone else a bit more and avoid months and months of frustration. LOOK ELSEWHERE. read more

This company is a fraud! Buyer beware! Placed a $6,000 order 8 weeks ago and they were supposed to install the shutters on Wednesday. Nobody showed up and nobody called. Once I got a hold of them they said someone will call in 2 days to reschedule. Yet again nobody called. When I called all I got was some useless BS from a receptionist saying that she does not know anything as she is just a receptionist. Now here I am in the middle of hurricane season with no shutters and have to start the process all over again with a new company.
