Highway robbery. I was charged $200 for a vist and when the technician showed up my blind was not broken but only needed batteries, which I provided. I just called them to ask for partial refund they say that is what it costs to send a technician out regardless of what the issue is. I told him $85 even $100 for the serivce call but $200 and I had to give him the batteries is out right robbery. Initially they canceld my Tuesday appointment for not paying the ransom and told me that my appointment had been given to someone else that I had to wait until Friday afternoon for the technician. I had used them on several occasions but the other times the technician was here for a bit and solved a few battery installs, never 5 minutes for $200. Stay clear ! read more

We were looking to get Hunter Douglas shades for our new home and they came highly recommended as a local certified dealer. When I visited the shop, they were super helpful and nice and I felt very well-taken care of. Angel Garcia, part owner, was my main contact. He came over in the next couple of days to take all the measurements. He brought samples, made great suggestions and all was going smoothly. He all but guaranteed in writing that our drapes and shades would be complete by the time we moved in, five weeks later. That's where the good news ENDS. Five weeks came and went. We moved in. No shades. The news was bad: "Oh didn't we tell you all the material was out of stock and back-ordered?" No, that "little" detail had been left out. Two months later, half of our order was in. Yippee. The installer came, put in the Hunter Douglas shades and the shutters, but on two of the windows, the measurements were wrong and they had to go back to the factory. The other shades-- Romans -- were still not ready. So from July, when we first ordered, we waited until October, and even then the whole batch was not ready. George, the installer came. He showed me what he had brought. OMG they mixed up all the fabrics!!! The "sheers" for the living room are now linen, blackouts. The Romans for the staircase windows and bathroom are now sheers, with backing. And one wall was missing its drapes ENTIRELY. I'll live with what we have, but I won't go back. My suggestion: go to REX fabrics on Ponce or Boca Bargoons in Aventura. read more

Maybe I should give this place two stars--I'm conflicted, but I'm not happy with the service I received and I would not choose these people again . . . even if everything worked out "fine" in the end. We called Biscayne Decor (also called Biscayne Blinds, apparently) on the recommendation of our window manufacturer. Our window dressings were out of warranty, and we needed someone to come perform a quick procedure--that we should have been able to do by ourselves, but because of the proprietary design of the mechanism, we didn't have the tool to do it. I called and made an appointment to have someone come out and do what should have been a quick repair. After it was scheduled, I choked a bit at the price: $200. But our window shades weren't closing, and our east-facing windows demanded a quick solution if we ever hoped to get any sleep. The guys who came to do the repair were nice enough--and quick enough. They performed the quick replacement; I signed on the dotted line; and they left with my $200. I know, I know, I know I should have monitored their work, but I figured the job was so simple, there was no way they could screw it up, right? WRONG! Not only did they scratch the window dressings (about inch-long paint scratches on two windows), but they weren't careful in the way that they reinstalled one of the blinds, and the closure mechanism ended up tearing part of the blind fabric itself. I didn't notice this until after they left. I called as soon as I saw the problems, but the guys were already on their way to anther job, and I was out of luck. About a week later, I was able to get the installed to return with the owner to survey the damage. The owner was very efficient and just took the blinds away, back to his shop for repair. He was actually pretty apologetic, and said he'd have them back to us as soon as possible. These are blinds for our master bedroom, which has pretty much wall-to-wall glass, so that means we couldn't sleep in that room until the blinds were returned . . . which was another week later. Once those blinds were re-installed, however (the installers, now on their third visit, basically refused to talk to me), part of one of the blinds was FILTHY! After trying to remove some of the dirt myself to no avail, I showed the guys how dirty the blinds were, and they very frustratedly attempted to clean the part. (This was the part they replaced, so there was no reason why it should have been filthy.) I let them do their thing while I worked in the other room. I think they ended up having to replace it again, I don't know. LONG STORY SHORT: A quick job that should have taken about 15 minutes took more than two weeks (and three afternoons off from work to meet these guys to fix their mistakes AND $200 . . . ). Even if these guys are authorized service providers for Hunter-Douglass, I won't go back next time i need service. No way no how. read more

I recently had 6 shades installed by Biscayne Decor in my condo. They are simply great. Exactly what I wanted and at a reasonable cost. They came out and measured within the next day of my calling and begin to work on time. Installation took no more than 3 hours and the installer was professional and efficient. I contacted the company and the following day they called me to scheduled my appointment to measure my bay window. I wanted to get plantation shutters. Mr. Fernandez (owner) came out to measure my window. He was very polite and professional. As he was measuring he told me that my window's measurements were not even. (I had never notice .) He showed me what he had to do to make it look even and nice. Manolo and Byron came to install and they were very professional. Now I can say that my living room is complete!!!!! I love my plantation shutters and Biscayne Decor did a great job with my uneven window. I would definitely hire again. read more
