We have experienced this ride 3 times and it is always enjoyable! The staff is always friendly and respectful with smiling faces! I would recommend asking if the shrimping boats have gone out before purchasing your tickets. The shrimping boats are what bring the dolphins in. Don't think we've ever been so livid. we're visiting from out of state. Since its our last day here we thought we'd do some fishing before heading to the airport. Checked out of our hotel early at 6:30am. Took an hour cab ride down to find out that our charter was cancelled. Apparently someone was supposed to notify us the night prior. Never happened. No call. Spend the extra money for a smaller charting company. The boat was packed, maybe 100 people. The fishing poles were lined shoulder to shoulder. Go with a smaller company, on a smaller boat, with less people. The crew was also TERRIBLE. Making fun of sick people, who can't control literal puking. Boring. Two hours and we saw nothing, it didn't seem like they even cared. I've been to other trips where you get your money back or at least a reschedule. Here, nope. It's not naturalist led, no commentary whatsoever. Talked about the land around the marsh but nothing about the ocean. The captain asked us all to look for dolphins and tell him if we saw any. The helper was on his phone the whole time. Neither were actively looking. Coming back disappointed they showed a shark jaw skeleton. Not impressed. Not enough seating so about a quarter of people had to stand for two hours or sit on the filthy floor. The floor carpet was peeling up making a tripping hazard. The snack bar was absolutely disgusting. Tables were dirty I'm guessing from the tour before. I have been on much more impressive boats and tours. read more

This is the third time taking our 9 year old and 7 year old on the "dolphin tour" and we haven't seen any dolphins at any of the trips. Wow out of all the vacations we have ever taken to the Carolinas, the dolphin cruise was the best experience and best value out of anything. I had a feeling it was going tobe good because upon our arrival, the entire crew was thoroughly scrubbing and disinfecting the entire boat making it spic and span. Hurricane Fleet is the best cruise because #1 they own the shrimp boat that everyone flocks to in the ocean. Why is the shrimp boat so important you might ask? Well the shrimp boat is the center and main attraction. There are waverunner tours and also some yellow speedboat tour out of Myrtle Beach that was "poaching" off Hurricane Fleet's shrimp boat. The dolphins follow the shrimp boat. We saw a LOT of dolphins! Approximately 8 if my calculations were correct. When I say we "saw" 8, I mean the dolphins continously swam alongside are cruise boat following the shrimp boat in front of us. The other cool part of the tour that none of the other companies can offer is since Hurricane Fleet owns the shrimp boat, you get to sit front row and watch the shrimp nets be brought up. After that, the shrimp crew throws everything non-shrimp over to the cruise boat, so the crew can show and educate the kiddies about everything they caught. They had an eel, sharks, flounder, starfish, and sand dollars. The kids get to sit front row center, get taught about, and touch everything. How cool! There are clean restrooms on the boat. Pop and water are sold for $1 a piece, but they are for your convenience. The company in no way "hawks" or pushes the items. A+ trip! read more

Awful! Drove 30 min to get there. It's a completely run down place. The boat was also run down, dirty, and the restrooms were out of order. After packing everyone on this boat on a hot day they told us the shrimp boat was broken so we wouldn't see any dolphins. So after an hour everyone got off the boat and got refunds. I don't recommend it just for the sheer fact that it is a row boat with a motor. read more

Wow where have you been all these years. Awesome experience for Me and my 16 year old son. Not being avid fishermen this was perfect for us. 35.00 per person was money well worth spent. The crew and captain are A rated in terms of ensuring your complete satisfactions. They are more than helpful. Not sure what the standard is for tipping but we gave them $30 total. These guys work for tips, so if you do go please plant to tip, I'm just Hoping I tipped them enough. Can't wait till Next spring break as I will e sure to bring my other 10 year old son. Rag-tag 3 hour tour. Window fell out of the boat, lost the anchor, ceiling leaked, bathroom was overflowing with waste. It costs $100 a person for a trip, then they even charge you for the stringer to keep your fish on. Kicker at the end, they gave us the wrong stringer of fish - after we paid 10$ to have it cleaned. Two stars because they put us on lots of fish! read more

If I could give this business zero stars I would. We paid $100 to take the dolphin/shrimp boat tour. When we arrived we were told the shrimp boat was broken and we wouldn't see that part of the tour and that they also couldn't promise any dolphins...? So since we already drove nearly an hour to the location we decided we would still do the boat tour. We had a 2 year old and 7 year old with us and we asked if the water would be choppy and they said just a little bit. Nearly an hour into the tour more than half the boat was seasick because the water was SO choppy. My poor kids were absolutely miserable. We explained our disappointment with everything and another worker tells us that everyone was warned that the water was choppy and pretty much "too bad". If you like spending your money on an attraction that offers zero entertainment and want to feel nauseated- this is for you. What a joke of a business. read more

We started the week with a half day fishing trip. The crew was extremely helpful and worked hard to make sure everyone had a great time and caught tons of sea bass. I even brought my wife along to take pictures and daughter to fish also. Very family friendly. We all had a TON of fun, unbelievebly affordable. Even though we had to throw the fish back, we all had a great time. We had such a great experience that we decided to come back for the dolphin cruise later in the week. The company owns a shrimp boat that they take you out to meet on the trip. The crew said the shrimp boat attracts dolphins and other sea life, and WOW did they deliver. We saw at least 15 dolphins and got close enough to take some great pictures. The crew brought some of the sea creatures that the shrimp boat caught and brought it into our boat for us to see. The crew took their time discussing the different crabs and eels , providing education and entertainment for the whole family. GREAT JOB HURRICANE FLEET!! We found them by accident and were completely satisfied by the experience, cant wait to go back! I wish I could give more stars! read more

Decided to go on a fishing trip , via a suggestion from a from of my wife's, me and my son decided to go with a 4 hour trip was about $80 for both of us, boat ride was about an hour out, which was a fun ride ( very wavy) , once we started fishing we caught over a dozen fish, many of the 30 plus people who were on the boat at same time were catching many fish as well, the captain and mates were awesome , very helpful. Highly suggest using these guys. 2 notes- basic bait is included but you can upgrade for slight fee and they will clean and filet your fish for a slight tip as well.Many other fishing options.... read more

Took my family on the dolphin cruise and ended up seeing a shrimp boat and brought home a keepsake. Awesome time and worth the price.

We made reservations for seven to go on the dolphin tour and they didn't take our name. They asked us to get here at 1:15 and while we did arrive a little late, it was 7 minutes BEFORE the advertised time the boat leaves. When we arrived the people in the office said the boat had already left and they "made sure everyone who had reservations was on the boat", but clearly they had not. The office people were telling us they hadn't talked to us and when we tried to make reservations for their advertised 4pm tour, they told us they weren't even doing one! read more

AWESOME! Our hotel referred this dolphin tour. The experience was so cool. My six year old not only saw dolphins but he learned a ton about different sea creatures from Bryan. The captain, with crazy precision drives up behind a shrimping boat, while Bryan explains what the shrimpers are doing. The shrimp crew then hands off bags of sea creatures/fish caught in the shrimp nets that will go back into the sea off to Bryan who then takes them out one by one and explains what they are etc. His partner then lets each kid have a closer look. Sadly we sat up top, not realizing all this would happen so my son didn't get to participate in that part. However, they included him. It was far to choppy to attempt to go down the stairs. That did not really affect our experience much. I would suggest sitting below with kids. The dolphins naturally attract to the shrimp boat nets to feed so seeing those was not an issue at all. This is a fishing boat with fishermen running it. Should we ever return we would not hesitate to take a charter fishing with those guys. Highly recommend read more

This was a nice trip except I did get sick- even though I took motion sickness pills an hour before. I felt ok after laying down a bit as a crew member advised - got back up and started fishing again! The day started off with the crew complaining for about an hour about only having 3 mates for 33 people. Most of the day was spent untangling lines, I caught more people than fish. After we docked, it was a long process to wait for your stringer number to be called. By the way, you have to buy your stringers, $2. Every boat I've ever been on provides you with stringers. My 15-yr old son and I took the 12-hour Gulf Stream Charter two days ago (the end of September). I have to say that the trip exceeded ALL expectations. Before choosing which charter to take, I read a ton of reviews for all the various fishing charters in the area and I am SO GLAD we decided to use the Hurricane Fleet. They were so professional, the boat (the Hurricane II) was awesome, and we had a great time. Special shout out to our guy KEITH!!!! We had never been deep sea fishing before. My level of experience with fishing is pretty much a cane pole at my grandpa's pond. I'm quite the novice, but this trip sounded like fun for me and my son. Keith helped us with our lines, gave us fishing pointers, baited hooks, etc. He made the trip so enjoyable. We also spoke to one of the others on board who is local and he said he takes this Gulf Stream trip a couple times a year, and he takes the half-day trip 3-4 times a year. He agreed the Hurricane Fleet is the best around. My son and I caught so many fish...The Captain and the crew seemed to find amazing locations to fish. Most of the time, our hooks were only in the water for 1-minute or less before we had fish on the line. Many times we were bringing them up two at a time. Overall, the trip was epic. My son is already begging me to go back and do it again when we hit Myrtle Beach again next year. For the price, you absolutely get the best value for your money with the Hurricane Fleet. read more

My husband and I went for their dolphin cruise. The way it works, is they follow behind a shrimp boat to guarantee (more than likely- they are dealing with a wild animal) that you see Dolphins. We saw tons of dolphins! The guys did such a great job educating us on Dolphins, Sharks and they even do a segment on shrimping and the boat. I have a new found appreciation for shrimp now! This was the highlight of our vacation. One of the coolest things I've ever done. Two hours long and they take you out into the ocean and you get to see dolphins and sometimes sharks and manta rays. They teach you about sand dollars and some sea creatures. Towards the end of the tour, you were able to buy sea creatures that they had just caught that day ( they are dead ) and they put them in a mason jar with water and alcohol and they only cost $10 ( they ran out of jars so they gave some out for free ). The workers were super nice. Definitely worth the money! read more

I am in myrtle beach for vacation and my boyfriend loves fishing so we choose the hurricane fleet after a not so great time with a competitors fleet, we chose the gulf stream trip but a huge storm with high swells were due in, so before we even headed out the sharky (great guy) came down explain to us the weather and told us we were no longer going to the gulf stream instead we were doing a 7-3 off shore trip for $65 instead of the hundred; but if we didn't want to do that we were welcome to get our money back and leave. We stayed but as we got out to sea the swells were worse than they thought they went around the entire ship and asked everyone if they wanted to try fishing a half day 7-12 for $35 now or go back in and get our money back general consensus was go in. We were given a full refund with out any hassle. The crew keep us completely informed the entire time and answer all of our questions no matter how stupid they were. Everyone was extremely considerate. We will be going on on the next scheduled gulf stream trip. read more

I took my son (6) fishing on the AM half-day boat out of Calabash and we LOVED it. Never in our wildest dreams did we expect to catch 71 fish in 3 hours. Fishing was great but what really put it over the top for us, and especially my son, was "Mr. Chris," the mate who was incredibly positive, helpful to us, and everyone else on the boat.
