From the outset, it was clear that they were deeply invested in my success and personal growth. Thanks to the dedicated staff and inspiring environment, I rediscovered my passion for hair and beauty, which was practically lost due to the toxic environment and staff of my previous school. I learned more in the 3 months attending this school than I did in the entire year at my previous school. Additionally, I was able to learn facials here, which has inspired me to add that service to my repertoire. The teachers are very encouraging and passionate about their work, doubling as my mentors. Their approachability was evident in their willingness to go above and beyond for their students. I transferred into this school stressed and depressed from my previous school's toxic staff and environment, simply wanting to complete my 1500 hours. However, as I finished up my last few days at AMIC, I felt sad and didn't want to leave. I am thrilled to watch this institute grow, knowing that the students there will love it and become excited about their beauty careers. The owner, Nichole, is amazing and genuinely cares. The students are so sweet but the instructors are so incredibly rude and undermining. I was told I had a free haircut because they ran late and weren't able to finish cutting my hair my previous appointment. That day, an instructor (lindsey) told me just come in another time for a no charge haircut. Apparently, they didn't put ANY free cut under my name and I had to find the instructor, "remind" her, and this was after trying to convince, Karen (another lady), that I wasn't lying. I was flabbergasted, and how they treated me in the process was actually so wrong. I was in disbelief, never had an experience like this.

Its important to note that this is a school so you HAVE to have patience!! If you are the type that would die having to sit two hours to get your nails done, this isnt the place for you. Also, the ventilation is horrible and all nails are done downstairs in a dungeon lmaoo. I saw a girl get a pedicure done & they used a big bowl to soak her feet & had her sitting in one of those fold out chairs. I almost got a pedicure and was like nope because I want to be comfortable and able to relax!! She answered yes enthusiastically. I get there at my appointment, my stylist was going to dry cut my hair (4 type) without washing or styling first, which isn't what you would do with 4 type curls. During the wash, she did not use specific shampoos/conditioners according to my hair or scalp health, she just saw my hair was coily and used a "thermal helper" shampoo, and she didn't even wash my scalp. I ran a finger over it after it was wet with left a residue of gunk. Scalp was still dirty! She attempted to blow dry my hair, which took 2 hours and 40 minutes just to look like my hair was air dried. I was furious. She then asked a second stylist to help straighten my hair and the final result was MY AT HOME blow dried look. Her boss cut my hair and i was charged almost 40 dollars. The next day, complete fuzzball. My hair reverted within a day and it's an itchy mess. Furious. You would think students learn to do HAIR, not just straight hair! Felt like such a laughing stock

After I requested she not use the drill her performance quickly went down hill. My feet were wet, dried, and polished. My hands were sprayed with a mist of hand sanitizer and polished. Dhe emptied the footpath and started putting things away without washing or sanitation, including drill bit and nail file. I was so eager to get out of there, I smudged my nails.

Ended up walking out with a used Sony Rx10 iii in excellent condition and associated accessories (bag, extra battery, SD card, card reader, lens protector) and technicalllly under the budget I had stated... :) So far so good! A couple days after this purchase, I ended up going back to upgrade the bag to a slightly larger one that could hold some additional items. Now technicallllly slightly over budget lol but I'm happy about my items so far and the customer service/help!
