Went to PA this afternoon and received a STELLAR gel manicure from Chelsea! I said all I want is some hot pink but otherwise she can decide what to paint. She did these super fun cheetah nails I would never have picked them out on my own but I LOVE the look! So glad I had her call the shots.

A waste of money and time as a student and customer. The administration and customer service is lacking.

If you walk in and they have an appointment available, the blow out is complementary. Free! It includes a head massage with aromatherapy oils (I like the minty one), shampoo and conditioner, and blow dry / style. I think hot tools may cost more, but my hair usually looks great after they're finished using a round brush and blow dryer. I do sometimes get the botanical deep conditioning for an extra charge, but it's still way cheaper than most salons. Overall, the stylists that are training there are so nice, professional, thorough, and accommodating. They ask you exactly what you want, which I appreciate because I've gotten bad hair styling because I was too intimidated to speak up. Yes, they are in school, so keep that in mind if you're nervous - but my blow outs always look great. It smells great in there, and you get complementary tea which is a treat in Michigan winters. And when I got a haircut that looked a little uneven, because one side had more layers than the other after I styled it myself - the instructor checked it and fixed it when I went back a couple weeks later for free. Some of the amazing stylists there now that have given me great blow outs and product advice include Amanda, Lexan, Myah, etc... really, you can't go wrong at the price, especially since there is an instructor there checking their work who will swoop in if needed (I've never needed it). And free blow outs??! How can you beat that? I have also gotten a pedicure in their spa and it was very relaxing - took about 1.5 hours. FREE! BLOW OUTS! Seriously - go now!

I actually have to schedule an appointment with my salon at home to fix everything. Color - An instructor consulted on this and gave instructions different than what the student wanted to do. Turns out that the instructor was wrong. When my hair was dried she came back and said "oh, this looks nice". Really? I had blotches all over my head. Cut - I asked for a cut to bring my longest length up to the shortest layer - get rid of the layers. I was told that I didn't have any layers and they proceeded to trim it. When I redid my hair myself, the layers are 1"-2" shorter than the length of my haircut. Very obvious layers. The student was very nice, but the experience was money wasted 100%. I still have to pay for a color and cut fix and hope they can squeeze me in quickly.

From the outset, it was clear that they were deeply invested in my success and personal growth. Thanks to the dedicated staff and inspiring environment, I rediscovered my passion for hair and beauty, which was practically lost due to the toxic environment and staff of my previous school. I learned more in the 3 months attending this school than I did in the entire year at my previous school. Additionally, I was able to learn facials here, which has inspired me to add that service to my repertoire. The teachers are very encouraging and passionate about their work, doubling as my mentors. Their approachability was evident in their willingness to go above and beyond for their students. I transferred into this school stressed and depressed from my previous school's toxic staff and environment, simply wanting to complete my 1500 hours. However, as I finished up my last few days at AMIC, I felt sad and didn't want to leave. I am thrilled to watch this institute grow, knowing that the students there will love it and become excited about their beauty careers. The owner, Nichole, is amazing and genuinely cares. Even after graduating, she continues to provide continuous support on my career journey. This place will forever hold a special place in my heart!

The prices are great, super affordable, the service was great, extremely personable educators, who continually checked in with me to ensure everything was up to par. I have gone to many beauty schools, and as far as this one goes the skill set is top notch. The environment is that of any real beauty school that is in our US educational system. I found the students behavior to be quite genuine, and very positive. I would recommend Kia, the was the beautiful young stylist who did my ombre color and highlights, she was very professional and gentle when doing my waxing services. I was very impressed with her scalp massage skills as well, in the shampoo bowl... Overall this place is amazing, I would recommend it to anyone who needs pampering on a budget, who has plenty of time to spend on themselves. Overall, I had my hair colored with amazing ombre technique, additional foils placed, a color gloss treatment and eyebrow arch. I was there from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. I will be returning for additional services. This place was not crowded with rude students like other beauty schools in AA, and their prices were at least half of the other schools... Very Impressive for the high quality products used and spectacular results. The students and educators want to be sure you are satisfied through the whole process. Great color job. Wonderful waxing skills. I can't wait to go and have nails done and a facial too... Excellent experience. Great Job Kia and Educators today. You made me feel better than I have in a very long time.

They fully prepared me for my state board test, and for my job in a salon afterwards. On top of all of that, Angie is always supportive of her students, and professional. The instructors/owners were unprofessional, often resorting to narcissistic and passive aggressive behaviors, scare tactics, or openly gossiping about students and clients. The owner has stated openly how much she dislikes her job, and this sentiment is clearly reflected in her attitude and the overall atmosphere and performance of the school. I CANNOT in good conscience refer anyone to attend this school as they prioritize money and accreditation over the well being and education of their students. The environment fostered timidity and fear rather than confidence and skill development. Rather than inspiring and supporting me in my journey to become a Stylist, their behavior caused me to nearly want to give up on it altogether. It wasn't until I switched to a new school, and a healthy teaching environment, that my passion for hair was reignited and I look forward to my future in this industry. Additionally, the lack of proper equipment and outdated products hindered our learning experience. It's true what they say: you get what you pay for, and in this case, it falls short of even that expectation.  In conclusion, the fact that I have to at least rate this 1 star, this star goes to the students there that have to endure this school.
