They provide you with basic cooking items and cleaning, along with toiletries. There's a fan in the living room and bedroom for those warm summer nights and a TV in all three spaces. The deck is huge! And the hot tub is good for 4. You're literally steps from the path to the ocean and if you walk off your deck and in between a couple bushes you'll see it. It would be nice if those shrubs were cut way down just to see the ocean and river that goes behind the cottage.

The staff is very friendly and the park as well maintained. They have a laundry room and a new dog run area. You can walk down to the ocean from the RV park. The beach goes on for miles in either direction. The beach can get windy at times, but on this particular trip visit, we had outstanding weather. They used to have the Tortuga Mexican food restaurant; however, that went out of business recently. Arch Rock Brewery took over their space. Does it get any better? A brewery and hot tub at the RV park at the ocean. The resort also serves breakfast now, and we took advantage of that. My favorite breakfast items were the sausage breakfast burrito and the French toast. They also make delicious mochas.

The tent area where we stayed was decent. The fences were replaced due to a rough winter and the sites seemed clean. The bathrooms look repainted and had a sign on them stating daily maintenance. That I can tell you in not true as the bathrooms in the tent area are not routinely checked on. The prices however continue to rise and maintenance and overall comfort goes down. Pack em in and make em pay should be the motto. The family itself is on of the wealthiest in Gold Beach and should be over joyed to represent Gold Beach and welcome visitors with not only open arms but clean and well maintained facilities. The place was just ok. Lots of other options but closest to town and having Indian Creek Cafe so close in easy. Lets step it up Indian Creek.

The site was perfect for one or two tents and up to 2 vehicles. The bathrooms were clean and not far from camp. Also, they had free showers and laundry facilities, as well as potable water. In addition, ice, firewood, and some snacks were available and inexpensive at the office. However, I would not recommend camping here with a RV or trailer. They pack you in like sardines with little room outside. However, tent camping here is great.

Several campers shared with us that they felt like they were walking on egg shells during their stay. General concensus it that it was/is due to the power trip/uptight owner. Guests worrying about if their chair leg or other might be set in a forbidden area, right next to their rig etc. Being grass obsessed is one thing. Known to berate people out on a whim is another deal. Geez, tone it down a bit and give people some space to relax. Pros: *Super quiet *Staff helps guide rigs in to park. *Probably not great for kids. *Beautiful location on the river. *Bathrooms; very clean. *Prices are reasonable. *Decent wifi. *Owner pays attention to keep the riff raff out. Cons: *Gravel spots. *Super small patios that are heaving which could lead to twisted ankles exiting rigs. (Request to owner: Remove some of the lawn and improve patio size, this much needed improvement would also use less water and allow patio furniture more space). *Uptight guy owner. *Many deer hazards on the road to town.

We usually visit the Northern Beach (Seaside) and enjoy it very much, but our visit to the South was extremely pleasant. We made reservations ahead of time at The Rogue River Landing in Gold Beach. We were greeted by the owners Bernard and Sahar Ortiz and their quiet but lovely daughter Alex. They treated us just like family and did everything they could to make our stay pleasant and most of all comfortable. They succeeded greatly at both. We stayed in the King of the Hill unit and our Grandkids stayed in the unit next to it. Talk about beautiful scenery and plenty of wildlife. We woke up the first morning to four wild turkeys gobbling under our bedroom window. There were plenty of Eagles, Osprey and deer. Also some very friendly Blue Jays and one particularly friendly swallow that flew into our living room as we left the doors open to enjoy the cool breeze and fresh mountain/ocean air. The swallow was released without harm after a short photo session. The boys went out on the ocean and had a great time and caught some outstanding fish. Now we're home and going to enjoy some fish taco's The accommodations at Rogue Landing are very well kept, clean and comfortable. A visitors happiness is indeed top priority for the Ortiz Family and we greatly appreciate all that they did to make our stay very memorable. Gold Beach is very limited on dining locations most of which close very early. Bernard and Sahar a working very hard on remodeling and reopening their onsite restaurant. We got a tour of how things are going and truthfully, this is going to be THE PLACE to eat in the area. Bernard is personally finishing the tops of the tables and they are gorgeous. The restaurant has views of the river that are breathtaking. We are contemplating returning for the restaurant opening so we are going to watch The Rogue River Landing website. (https://wwwrogueriverlanding.com) We took the advice of Bernard and Sahar to travel the thirty minutes to Brookings for more choice of food and shopping. Bernard passes his free time which I can see he doesn't have much of to handcraft knives. He has a great selection and they are for sale. He is friends with one of the knife makers on Forged in Fire and he produces quality knives. I highly recommend The Rogue River Landing for fishing, sightseeing or just sitting back and relaxing. The evenings were quiet, dark and very peaceful. I cannot overemphasize the great time we had and will most assuredly be returning. A special THANK YOU to Bernard, Sahar and Alex for making this our top of list visit to Oregon. WALT AND MELLONEY SZAREK KEARNS, UTAH

I have a group of friends who do hiking trips together every few years, and this year we picked…read moreMorrisons Rogue River hike with support from guides on rafts. Booking the trip was relatively straightforward, but Morrisons highly encouraged us to do trip insurance because they don't offer refunds, which should've been the first red flag. Before I go too far, I do want to give a huge shout out to our guides Drew, Adam, and Johnny. They were amazing, and if I were rating just them, this review would be 5++ stars. They were friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and genuinely cared about us and our hike. The rest of the Morrison's staff...not so much. There was an active wildfire in the area before we started the hike. We talked to Morrison's several times in the days leading up to the trip (before we flew out) and even asked about rebooking the trip for a different time, when the forest in the area wasn't on fire. We were assured that even though they were planning a few modifications to our itinerary (i.e. at least one day of rafting instead of hiking), they were confident that it would be a wonderful trip. Fast forward to the end of day 2 of our trip...and they had to cancel the rest of the 4-day hike due to safety concerns and, ultimately, a mandatory evacuation. To be clear, I'm not upset that we were pulled out of the woods, as that was an obvious safety decision. I'm mad because we specifically asked about rebooking for different dates and were told no. Morrison's got us back to their main lodge the following morning, at which point they considered themselves done with us. There was no refund, no help finding rooms for the night, and the last lodge we were in literally wouldn't even let us use the bathroom in the hour we were waiting for vans to get us back to safety. Morrison's did at least send us all an official email about the trip cancellation so that we could share that with our travel insurance (if we'd purchased it) to try to get a refund, but that was about it. Morrisons also made the guides tell us, rather than having anyone higher up in the company talk to us. From what we can tell, they also didn't do anything to help their guides (e.g. helping them find lodging) once the trip was canceled. I will also add that I'm vegetarian, and although there was a lot of very tasty vegetarian food available, vegetarian protein was extremely scarce. For dinner the two nights we hiked (~9 mi on day 1 and 15 mi on day 2), there was no source of vegetarian protein for me to eat. (The gluten free and dairy free people fared much better.) It would've been so easy to roast a portobello mushroom the way they roasted salmon, or to do some kind of meat substitute when they did ribs (they did have meat substitute at the lunches, and eggs or veggie patties at breakfast). I had brought some protein powder with me, but not enough to make up for dinners without protein. My friends ended up giving me the protein bars they'd brought for themselves to try to make up for the dinners. To Morrison's: please consider all macronutrients (carbs, fat, AND protein) when planning meals for your guests! Overall, I would absolutely go back to the river with any of the guides, but I'll never use Morrisons again, and I recommend that you don't either.
