Don and his team earn an A+ for providing invaluable support to students. My daughter worked with the Huntington team during the past 10 years and successfully graduated from PHS last week. The Huntington team developed and executed appropriate learning programs for my daughter that were fine-tuned to address her specific needs and deficiencies. Their protocols evolved with her advancement. The group was always flexible with schedule and was upbeat and friendly throughout the decade of learning. I recommend without any reservation or qualification. read more

Love this place, very professional clean and accommodating tutoring center. Don Mills is the director and I can't say enough good things about the center and how it's run. Don is very professional and always schedules appointments with parents to update them on their child's progress and what they need to work on. The center always accommodates you if you need to reschedule a class. My son learned so much here. It's not cheap but worth it. I would definitely recommend this center! Don and his team are excellent. My daughter was in the 3rd grade when her teacher said she was behind. I decided to have her test by Huntington Learning Center. They confirmed that my daughter was behind. She was struggling in school, and she started hatting school. I decided to enroll her in Huntington Learning Center. My daughter went from hating school to loving school. She went from not being able to do her homework to never needing my help with her homework. In the 4th she was awarded the most improved student at webster elementary school. 13 years later she has an AA degree in Business Administration from PCC and in May of 2023 she will earn her B.S degree in Information Systems. I know that none of this would have been possible without Don and his team. It was one of the most important decisions I made as a parent. Huntington teaches skills that your child can use for life. Huntington Learning Center is more than tutoring. I highly recommend the program. read more

As much as one may debate the pros and cons of standardized testing, it is part of our education system and there is no escape from it. While I think my student has the potential of being a true Renaissance man, does well in school, and excels in many areas, standardized testing is not his strongest suit. Growing up in Taiwan and having conquered many large and difficult tests (NY and CA bar exams, CPA exam, LSAT, GMAT, just to name a few), the test warrior in me firmly believe that test taking is a skill that can be developed and improved upon with practice. I only wished I had discovered HLC for my student sooner. There are many tutoring centers in the area and we had tried a few others. Each student may have his or her own learning style but we find HLC works well for our student. Our student was given a comprehensive assessment test at the very beginning. The center director Don Mills (such an asset for HLC!) went through the results with us carefully, identified the strengths and weaknesses of our student, discussed his goals, and proposed a tutoring plan to help our student to achieve his goals. I found the assessment on point and the proposed plan helpful in filling the gaps. There is no homework and everything is done at the center, which is important for our student due to his very busy schedule. Periodically, we have conferences with Don to discuss the progress of our student and revise our study plan as needed. I wish I could say that after a few lessons my student miraculously achieved the perfect score for ISEE. But no, like most things worth pursuing, it took time, efforts, and at considerable expense, and the progress comes in dribs and drabs. Although HLC does not perform miracles, we see the improvements that our student made with the help of HLC. We are satisfied with the outcome and we note the quality of our student's writing has also improved, which translate into better essays and more thoughtful school work. We trust Don's assessment and recommendation. Don, Jessica, and Christina are all great to work with and help us to find and work out the ever changing schedule with the right tutors due to our student's extracurricular activities. As a parent, I do not have much interaction with the tutors. But my student has no complaint. I think the comprehensive assessment test is invaluable for any parents or student to establish a baseline and understand the strengths and weaknesses of a student and would recommend HLC to help filling in the gaps. read more

We took our 6 and 9 year old girls to HLC get help with their schoolwork. We had just moved them to a new school and both of them were really struggling. Homework time with Mom and Dad was pretty stressful as well. We made an appointment to learn more about the HLC process and after initial testing, we developed a plan for each of them. We began to see real results after a few weeks. The girls are much happier and so are Mom and Dad. My 9 year old refers to HLC as Homework Heaven! Our thanks to Don and his Staff. read more

This place is amazing!! The front desk workers are absolutely amazing and will accomodate any schedule, no matter how hectic (thank you Sydney and Gabriela). My first time taking a practice ACT I scored a 27. After going to Huntington, I scored a 35 my first time taking the ACT. I definitely recommend coming here and especially recommend Adrienne as your English tutor; she is amazing! I scored a 35 in English and a 36 in Reading all thanks to her. The staff here is supportive, helpful, and efficient and the curriculum is specifically tailored for your child! 10/10 recommend! read more

We took our daughter to HLC to help her improve her reading and study skills heading into the 5th grade. We had no idea what to expect, but Don Mills and his staff were exactly what we, and our daughter, needed! They assessed our needs, and tailored a program to reach our goals for our daughter. Each staff member does more than teach, they care about the students, and our daughter never felt like just another student while there. She advanced in her reading, comprehension, and retention skills, as well as math. Her homework skills and confidence have gone through the roof, and she is more excited about school, and less stressed about homework... We cannot thank Don and his outstanding team enough for helping our daughter open these abilities we knew she had in her... We are forever grateful to HLC! read more

Since our son was in 2nd grade. We have taken advantage of the educators at HLC. There is no question that the folks here have helped smooth the educational and learning path to success for our son, who was just accepted into his top two choices for high school. Thank you Don and all your staff at HLC for your incredible assistance over the last 7 years. We reserve the right to come to you all once again, as he heads to one of these two great and challenging High Schools. read more

Our daughter was struggling with reading comprehension so we decided to look into different tutoring programs. We found that some programs basically had the students do worksheets the whole time and then was assigned more worksheets to do at home. This was not what we wanted and thankfully, we found HLC. Our daughter's needs were assessed and a comprehensive program was recommended for her that included reading, writing, math, and critical thinking. The cost was more than we expected but the program was definitely worth it. We saw major results. After being in the program for a few months, our daughter made a significant improvement in her reading scores! We know the improvement was because of the tutoring she was receiving at HLC. We'll be finishing the program next month but we plan on coming back in the summer so our daughter can continue to build on her skills. Thank you to Don and his staff! They are great! They care about their students and are really happy to see their students succeed! read more

Who needs SAT help? I'm going to live with my parents for the rest of my life and mooch off of their salaries! Or I could get some tutoring for the SAT...yeah I'm doing that option. The tutors are helpful and I'm learning, or re-learning I should say important information and strategy tips for the SAT. It's a little expensive, but I know in the long-run it will be worth it. They take the specific student that wishes to have tutoring, let them take full practice SAT's and ACT's to find out where their scores will be and then they make tons of charts showing how you can improve your score and which test is right for you. It's a perfect way of teaching that will hopefully give a few students the perfect score to get into college. Use this place if you need a tutor, not just for SAT but for normal school work too. All ages are welcome there, and they will help out anyone. Great place. read more

We were very disappointed with Huntington Learning Center, Pasadena. We spent a large sum of money for a minimal change in our sons' ACT score. We were told that we should see a score improvement of 5-6 points...We saw an improvement of 2. (We also feel they pushed the ACT over the SAT). We were told we would receive updates during the process. We only received 1 during the months long tutoring and that was only when we asked. We reached out to HLC for a response to our dismay and after a week, have not heard back. I can not express how disappointed we were with the whole experience and would NOT recommend them. read more

This place is an absolute treasure. Mr. Don has an amazing staff of tutors who are truly dedicated to each child's ability level, pace, style, needs and with so much patience, it's remarkable to watch. Our son and daughter have been going for math support...our son to be challenged beyond his level and our daughter to get homework help. Our son is excited to go every week and our daughter has not only improved her grades but more importantly her confidence level. The team is well versed in the curriculum standards and how to best help the kids succeed. I'm sure there are other tutors but the expertise and knowledge found with this team is not easily found elsewhere. Invest in your kids and bring them here, it's a true find. read more

The staff at Huntington Learning Center worked wonders in helping my son with Algebra. I can't speak highly enough about Don Mills and his team at Huntington. Last year my boy was really struggling with Algebra, and the grades weren't good. So we took him to Huntington for tutoring. Don Mills personally visiteds my son's Algebra teacher to assess the learning gaps. Don and his team then created a custom training curriculum for my son. By the end of the year, he had a solid A in the class. Not only that, but now he really enjoys math, got straight A's last year in Geometry and is looking forward to Algebra 2. I could not have predicted this kind of turnaround. Now, we are going back to Huntington for SAT prep, and I have no doubt we'll see positive results again. I'm writing this for two reasons: the Huntington team is fantastic, and I am so very grateful to them for playing such an important role in preparing my son for the future. Also: I run into so many other parents who are concerned about their children's grades, in an era where the stakes are so high and the competition is so much more intense than when we were kids. The problem is: parents simply don't know where to go for help. Huntington is where to go. read more
