I visited the center yesterday to have my two kids complete the initial academic assessment. I was told that they would call if my children finished early. I was waiting at a coffee shop a few doors down. I returned 20 minutes prior to the end of my kid's appointment to find my seven year old who has ADHD and other delays waiting alone in the waiting room with no adult. I sat with her for several minutes before anyone returned. When I spoke to the employee she told me it was "safe" for children to be unsupervised in their lobby. I completely disagree and I am so thankful that nothing happened to my daughter. I would not recommend this center! read more

Both of my children have used the services of Huntington for their ACT prep, one improved her score by 8 points from first test to last exam, the other one has improved 11 points already, pending her last exam. My first one is now on a scholarship at Seattle U, the little one is looking to apply for schools this fall. Their service is very professional, and focused on their strong teaching structure, specifically applied to your kid's strengths and improvement opportunities, they have also shown great flexibility in adjusting load and focus of classes to our kids' specific needs and priorities, changing along the way. Not to say they do magic, kids, and parents, need to be paying attention, completing assignments, and speaking up when something is changing in the kids' learning priorities, which, with standard testing, is likely to happen when you are taking more than one test, looking to get the benefit of super scoring. Pandemic totally broke their regular curriculum stride and threaten their learning ability, going to Huntington basically allowed them to rebuild, recreate that ability, particularly for math. We have been taking our two daughters to Huntington Learning Center in Bothell throughout the years now. It hasn't always been easy - It is a commitment for sure, for the professional staff at the center, and for us parents who don't always know how to fit their services into our budget. At times, we have had to ask family members to invest in the futures of our kids - and that isn't always easy. Is it worthwhile? That seems the penultimate question. We had both of our daughters going for supplemental education due to both struggling in their respective grades - one with math, the other, reading and writing. We chose to put our kids in public schools and in one of the top districts in our state. What we found was that these institutions spend more time teaching our kids their brand of social justice and less on the fundamentals of education that will get them into good universities and high paying careers. Our district even has 'Half Day Wedneday" when they send our kids home early. This is in addition to "Mid Winter Break",which falls only a couple weeks after three weeks of Christmas Break (which is because the kids and teachers just need all those breaks). Is it any wonder the United States ranks around 29th or so in the world in math and science in comparison to other nations, give or take, based upon polls taken each year? Supplemental education - of the best quality possible - has become a necessity. We tried a less expensive, high school student tutor ( Highly recommended, she is going to Yale in the fall! ). She did not click with our youngest daughter and her grades even fell, rather than take a turn for the better. This is where Huntington has been a Godsend. Erica really treats her office in Bothell as a place of learning and of fun. Shouts out go to Rebecca who manages with aplomb and our conferences with her about our daughters' progress have been great. She really cares and does a fantastic job. My daughter Jasmine says Nicole needs to get a raise as she does so much around there and teaches which such skill. I have to say that both our children had focus issues struggling when mom and dad sat with them, trying our best to help with homework - even relying on the internet and any other source. The best thing about Huntington has been the environment, surrounded by professional teachers and substitute teachers. Those teachers are underpaid and very qualified to educate, and ofttimes at public school, they come in as a substitute to play a video or movie for the kids - and act pretty much as babysitter. Huntington offers them a chance to thrive and do what they signed up to do. It's a win win except they do struggle to earn a decent wage. If your dilemma is the financial sacrifice to get your kids to the best they can be, perhaps you'll agree with me that in the end, it's worth every penny and perhaps more affordable than most private schools. I would recommend Huntington at Bothell to everyone. It is worth it. My kids got mostly As and a stray B! Erica and her staff know what they are doing! read more

Do not ever take standardized test classes at huntington because all they do is give you tests and make you solve them. If you pay almost 70 dollars per hour to get a private tutor and the tutors constantly leave the room and lack explanation, why not just study by yourself? I had a contract with huntington and this is literally the worst four thousand dollars I have spent my whole life. The only advantage u get in signing up for this class is that you get some example tests that are not onl in ne but you can find more than enough tests from prep books and on google. read more

It was a great experience to have my 4th grade child summer tutored at Huntington learning center. He had a very hard time learning material in his 3rd grade class. Huntington testing him and saw that he had not retained anything at a 3rd Grade level, was at a 2nd grade level and he had very low confidence in his work. His third class and teacher has brought him down so much that he wouldn't even read aloud to the teachers at Huntington. Huntington sat down and gave us a full evaluation of his skills and told us exactly what they were going to tutor him on. We saw he needed help and Huntington gave it to him. He is progressed through all the lessons and is now right were is supposed to be academically. The lessons were taught in a way that my child could learn quickly and easily. Huntington teachs concepts and meanings behind the lesson and not just the lesson. This way the learning is better retained and the concept can be remembered much easier. He also has much more confidence and no longer throws fits about doing school related work. It was well worth the money. The teachers worked with him at his level and were super patient with him. The facility manager is also amazing she worked with us to make sure he could get enough classes before the school started and gave us finance options to help us out. I would highly recommend this facility if you child has any academic trouble. read more

Very unprofessional location. The fee is huge comparing with other location. All the bad reviews are true! The minute we stepped in, I can sense there was something wrong with the tutoring center. The owner are very money driven people while running a very unprofessional business. The minute we step in this business, they demanded money with tutoring rates that changes within seconds!! Forget what is posted on their wall & contracts, they will SWITCH & BAIT for business. They will say just about anything to change the rates. read more

We brought our son (first grade) in because he was having trouble reading and his teacher was concerned that he might have to be held back. The people at Huntington gave him a long test - I wasn't even sure he would be able to handle that long of a test but it turned out to be no problem. We found out that he was having trouble with phonics and they set him up with an awesome teacher. He is doing so much better in school now, I can't believe it. It's expensive, but now that I see how much he improved in school it's worth every penny. read more

I have two children and they have both been through the college prep programs at Huntington Learning Center in Bothell. My first child in 2017, took their 15 week SAT prep course and raised her score close to 400 points. My second child, is currently taking their ACT prep course and has already raised her score a full 7 points. (And she still has four weeks of the program left!) I can not say enough great things about this program. Not only do they focus on mastering subject specific information, the test taking strategies they learn (time management, etc.) is invaluable. I am very impressed by the Huntington learning center, the staff are really friendly, professional and caring. I signed up my son to get his reading comprehension and writing skills improved, Huntington put him on a program that follow a process well, I was able to see a significant improvements in his writing and comprehension skills, his overall grade started improving. I started noticing his grades in the English language improving, noted as well that he started spending less time writing his essays, where before he used to spend more hours on writing essays. I registered him for his ACT preparation course, and I have no doubt that he will score great on ACT test, because Huntington follows a process that provides great and improved results. I highly recommend Huntington in Bothell for ACT prep. Some students may not need it, if they are self-motivated and/or the parent is willing to put in a lot of time correcting questions and making them practice. Basically, Huntington will encourage your student to take a practice SAT and ACT to find out which they are more successful at (we were planning on SAT but he did better on ACT). They will work through practice problems, focusing more on they types of questions they missed (e.g., pre-algebra vs plane geometry). They have you take two additional practice tests through the session to judge progress & fine-tune areas, and help to improve strategies on test day. On the 36-point scale, my son's score improved by 3 points from the June test to the September test, which is a pretty big improvement. read more

My daughter is preparing for college entrance exams and the program at Huntington raised her initial score from a 21 to a 28! We are so pleased with the program, the staff and the confidence she now has with taking tests. She will take the test again next month and will take a few more refresher courses at Huntington before to see if we can get that score even higher! Great program for any student! read more

I am now a student at the University of Washington in Seattle largely because of the aid I received at Huntington. I was tutored for SAT Prep and all the teachers were very patient with me; it was obvious they cared how well I did and how much I improved. Not only was I able to learn how to take the SAT, I learned valuable study skills as well as test-taking skills. They provided ample amounts of resources as well as constructive criticism, which a lot of instructors fail to do. It was easy to learn from the instructors as they are friendly and make the material seem so easy. I went from SAT scores around the 1800s to receiving a final score of 2010. Their tips and tricks are crucial for receiving a high score on the SATs, and I highly recommend choosing Huntington if you are struggling to choose the right learning center for you or your child. read more

We started taking our son to Huntington just over a year ago when he was in fifth grade. Our biggest concerns were in math, reading, and writing. At first the thought of adding to his plate academically seemed overwhelming but as sessions became part of our routine we started noticing his confidence with his schoolwork increase. I recently received his SBA scores and for the first time his scores in all subject matters were meeting average and were on the high end of this score level. Over the summer I decided to enroll my other son in the math program as well. He is currently in eighth grade and has consistently struggled with math. He now approaches math with much more confidence and his grades have vastly improved. The staff here has also been very easy to work with and very communicative. read more

I enrolled in the ACT Prep course at Huntington in March. I started at a 33, and a questionable 33 at that. Over the course of the program, I was given tons of practice tests, and the instructors analyzed my weaknesses and helped me fix those mistakes. Thanks to Huntington, I got a 35 on my actual ACT exam, which has opened many doors for my future. read more

As a former student of Huntington, I can personally say that Huntington has changed my life. I remember walking in the first day to take a SAT Practice test and saw the teachers greeting all the students that walked through the doors, and knew all of their names. It was something that even my school didn't do, right away i knew that this was a friendly environment. I can't begin to thank Huntington enough. Not only did they increase my leaning ability and test scores, but also my confidence. The teachers here really take the time and effort to make sure you understand the material before moving on. Late last year I came to Huntington with a 1100 SAT score. At this rate, i was sure i wasn't going to get into any colleges. My goal after Huntington was at least to reach a 1300. Going to Huntington slowly made a difference. My teachers were amazing and I didn't feel judged for my little knowledge. (Shout out to my amazing teachers, Lauren and Stephen!) They accepted me for who i was and didn't base me off a test score. Huntington believed in me when i didn't even believe in myself. They were flexible with schedules and were very understanding with payments. Here at Huntington, everyone feels safe and comfortable to be themselves. Erica, the executive director is a saint. She strives for EVERY single student to reach their full potential, and if it wasn't for her pushing me, i wouldn't even know where i would be today. After taking my last SAT test, I past my goal with a 1530. This score was beyond what i thought i could do. And although it may not be the best score, it's a score i can personally be proud of. Thank you Erica and Rebecca for believing in me, and giving me all that i needed to reach my full potential. Thank you for not giving up on me, even when i did.
