Our daughter dances to her own tune in life and had struggled in large public and private schools. Middle school can be brutal, but even when her peers weren't accommodating, our daughter always received friendship and acceptance from the staff at RH. IEP reviews at other schools had ranged from average to downright combative, but at RH we were relieved to feel so supported. Even though RH has experienced new leadership in the last two years, the resolve and tone at the school remained stable. Our daughter is excited to start remote learning for her high school years, a choice she was able to make in part due to the confidence instilled in her from her teachers and the special education staff at Rolling Hills.

My girls go to Montessori school and I just love that platform for learning. Especially it fits perfectly for my 5 yrs kindergartner. Structure and positive discipline help her be excited about her studies and she is very bright. This school offers music, science and many items that are considered at my girls Montessori as after school activities with additional payment. It's pretty well known in the community as high graded and well ranked. I did not like the carpets everywhere. How sanitary can that be and the uniforms plus it's run like a regular school and maybe it's just my own experience. I decided to wait and see who my kids are to see if this will be a suitable school for them. They have a lottery system and you will only know close starting of school year if your kid is accepted. Not something I want to play with and take a chance on. Just me.

We found Ambose online before we moved to Boise and it has exceeded our expectations. The philosophy of the school is great, but it's really the people that create such a special environment. The teachers and staff have been really good and are the kind of people you want as neighbors and friends. The five teachers that we have had so far have been personally invested in our sons success and development. When my son has had some success at things, he hears from all of his former teachers and the administration. They are truly excited for him and proud of his achievements. Mr. Warmouth, the Dean of the Grammar School, is amazing! His involvement and insightfulness have been really instrumental for us. One of things that I want as a parent is for his teachers to see my child as I do. To help us work on their weakness's, but also to recognize their strengths... and their potential. That's what our experience has been. They help to teach the kids accountability, morality and ethics... and they ask them to "live it". It feels like we are a team and that we are all pulling in the same direction. It all comes down to what you want from a school. I respect that not everyone wants the same things that we do, but I think some of these reviews reflect things that we have never experienced. I know a large number of families that have moved here or completely rearranged their lives so their children can go to school here. The tuition isn't easy for us and we know a few families that have had to leave for financial reasons. I don't think it's unreasonable, but it's a sacrifice for us and I'm sure for some others. The retention rate has been about 90% from year to year, which seems pretty high. If you are thinking about Ambrose, then go meet some of the people there and talk to some of the families involved. Judge for yourself, but I wouldn't be scared away by some of these anedoctal reviews. It doesn't mean that it is a fit for everyone, but my family and I view it as one of the best parenting decisions that we have ever made for our son. BTW, in regard to the person who said they said they had a bad basketball experience... I find that really hard to believe. We have participated in all kinds of things at this school and others and from my experience, this is the last place that you will find people acting like that,

I am genuinely heartbroken that I have to write a review like this, but families deserve to know…read moreour experience. We were excited about The Ambrose School. During our tour, they expressed how much they loved our child, how well she would fit, and even told us there was an open spot. All we needed to do was complete the application. We did exactly that. The application asked detailed questions about our specific Christian faith and the church we attend. Within a week of submitting it, we received a cold, impersonal email informing us that our application was being terminated and our fee refunded. No explanation. No conversation. No willingness to clarify anything. Just a closed door. When I reached out and respectfully asked for the reason behind their sudden reversal, we received complete silence. Not even the courtesy of a reply. Based on the timing and the nature of the questions they focused on, it is hard to see this as anything other than religious discrimination. What makes this even more painful is that our child previously attended a nearly identical "Classical Christian" school in another state--with the same curriculum, same values, same books, same structure--and thrived as a straight-A student. She was everything they say they want in a student. Explaining to her why Ambrose had suddenly changed their mind was absolutely heartbreaking. Their academics appear strong, and I am sure many students receive an excellent education. But our experience revealed something far more concerning: a lack of transparency, compassion, and Christlike behavior. The way we were treated was dismissive, exclusionary, and completely out of line with the values they claim to uphold. Families deserve honesty and respect. Sadly, we experienced neither.

My daughter has gained so much knowledge and a passion for learning. She loves helping the teachers and younger students. I know that having her attend Overland Montessori has created a fantastic foundation for her upcoming years in the public school system. Each of the staff members has an open communication with parents and we have always been free to call or stop by anytime. The teacher/student ratio is great and I know my daughter received a lot of 1:1 time from the teachers which is invaluable...she is reading at a 3rd grade level and is unstoppable! Bullying at this school has become an issue and not addressed. Being a private school you expect more, because each child is so profitable from the monthly income they bring into the school, they will keep a bully vs removing them. Both of my children were bullied, the principal would tell me it will be talked about every time I came for help to protect my child. The bullying continued, so bad my children had to be forced to go to school to not get behind as they felt they endured mental abuse. The rate at which students are leaving this school for another school is high. The principal allows the best students to leave by not addressing the problem students. Every student causing problems can stay and persist in problems rather than being removed permanently as the parents talk in groups about how everyone pulls from the school because the principal is allowing the problem students to maintain bullying. My son now has to be removed from the school because he is crying himself to sleep. the child harassing him has been allowed to do so the entire year no change only empty promises. If your child is harassed, you'll be forced to leave because the harasser will never be asked to leave. Shameful

While childcare can be stressful, I always trusted the Vista family. They did everything they could to safely stay open during Covid. I hate seeing the rating so low from some folks that had a very limited or one-time experience. My kiddos were well prepared for Kinder and thrived, especially socially, at Vista. If you're in it for the long haul, Vista is so great. I'm glad my babies made core memories and lifelong friends there.
