The teachers and staff working at Katie's Kids along with Katie herself are exactly who I want molding and helping my children learn and grow. To be honest, reading one of these negative views gets my blood boiling because Katie works so hard to give/provide the best possible experience and atmosphere for our children and her staff. Katie is a BOSS LADY because she has has built her business from the ground up and to be honest if it were a man we were talking about no one would be questioning it. Women need to be lifting other women up not trying to tear them apart. Also, Katie is more direct then most so because she is direct and has strict policy on sickness/illness (to protect her and the school from liability) she is now seen as a rude?!! My kids have had Hand foot, Mouth, pink eye, etc. so we have had to take our kids out for days and weeks at a time. Unfortunately, that is part of the drill when your kids go to daycare/school. They are going to get sick sometimes more often especially if they are new. And believe me it's hard working with your kids home but if your kids are sick or have a contagious bug then no matter what school they are at you would have to keep them home. What I really want to emphasize is that the teachers are happy and you can tell they are part of a family there and I feel that way too. Katie and Wendy are always available; their door is always open if I need to discuss anything but I find myself sharing our lives and all the positive things my kiddos are doing and learning. Leaving your children everyday in the care of someone else is scary and hard to do. I have had family help raising my children, previous day care facilities, an in home facility and school so I know all facets of this industry. That said, I have an almost 2 year old and a 5 year old at Katie's (my oldest is in 1st grade) and we feel good dropping them off EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. My kids are loved and celebrated. They are taught to be kind, respectful and overall good humans which is hard to come by in this day and age. We are blessed to have Katie and her staff in our lives taking care of our children while my husband and I both work and I hope you check it out and find out how wonderful it is for yourself!

While childcare can be stressful, I always trusted the Vista family. They did everything they could to safely stay open during Covid. I hate seeing the rating so low from some folks that had a very limited or one-time experience. My kiddos were well prepared for Kinder and thrived, especially socially, at Vista. DO NOT send your child to Extreme Aventura under any circumstance…read more The only thing extreme about this daycare is their extreme lack of professionalism and their abject neglect of the children that they are responsible for taking care of. We enrolled our 2 year old son in daycare here and it was the worst mistake we have ever made as parents. When I picked our son up after his first (and only) day at Extreme Aventura, I asked the owner how my son did and she told me he was upset, which is understandable as he's 2 and had never been to daycare before. She said that he was happy when he got to go outside, so they left him outside for most of the day. When I picked him up he had the worst sunburn he's ever had. I asked her if they put any sunscreen on him or had him wear his hat and she said it wasn't necessary because they have plenty of shady areas outside. Anyone with any semblance of common sense knows that a 26 month old toddler knows nothing about sunburns or staying in the shade. Regardless, IT WAS OVER 100 DEGREES OUTSIDE THAT DAY AND THE UV INDEX WAS OVER 8 !!! No amount of shade is going to prevent a very fair-skinned redheaded toddler from getting sunburned when the UV index is 8+ on a 100+ degree day. This is absolutely inexcusable, unforgivable neglect from a childcare provider. Especially since we provided both a hat and sunblock in the diaper bag that we left with him at the daycare. To make matters worse, Extreme Aventura does not follow any kind of safety protocol whatsoever for adults picking up children. I had never been to Extreme Aventura before (his mother enrolled him and dropped him off). They did not know what I looked like as they had never met me, had no photos of me, had never seen my ID and did not have a copy of my ID on file. My wife gave me a numeric code that Extreme Aventura is supposed to obtain from me to verify that I am authorized to pick up our son. They never asked me for this code. I knocked on the door and simply said I'm here to pick up (son's name). That woman went back inside and the owner brought our son out and gave him to me. At no point did the owner of Extreme Aventura, or the lady who answered the door, ask me for the numeric code. Nor did they ask to see my ID. THEY DIDN'T EVEN ASK ME FOR MY NAME! I could have been anyone, as far as they're concerned, and they just let me leave with a child without knowing or even attempting to verify who I am. I promptly informed Extreme Aventura, through the Brightwheel app that they use to communicate with parents, that we would not be bringing our son back to their daycare. My wife additionally emailed them informing them why we would not be bringing our son back. My wife also informed them that we would pay for the day he attended but we wanted a refund of the $150 enrollment fee. They did not respond to my wife's email until I called them and told them that we need a response to the email. They made an excuse over the phone about being closed for a week, however it took them almost 2 weeks to reply to my wife's email and they did so only after I called them. And they never responded to my message. When the owner finally responded to my wife's email she said "I'm sorry you feel that way" then proceeded to make a bunch of ridiculous, BS excuses for their extreme neglect of our son. She also refused to refund the $150 enrollment fee despite the fact that our son was there for only one day and all they did was neglect him, send him home badly sunburned and send him home with someone, who as far as they were concerned and knew, could have been a complete stranger or someone who is not authorized to take a child from their care.

Had my son in this pre-school for a couple months. Was a horrible experience. TLDR they kept trying…read moreto prove my son was horrible and had problems. Pulled him out put him another pre-school where he's done great. Day 1 they told my wife we should test him for ADHD. I was like it's his first day ever of school how do they know? But we asked our pediatrician anyway. He said he is high energy and they can't test a kid until they are older. He told us though he would surprised if he had any issues talking to him during the checkup. Said he was just a regular boy with high energy. We communicated this back to the school. They kept trying to force us to do 2 days a week had us come in to see how much "trouble" my son was. So I took work off and my wife and I went in with me. We stayed the entire class. Was my son perfect. No he was barely 4. He also was testing some boundaries. They asked him to do things he didn't always do it if he didn't want to. Afterwards discussing this I said I thought there were some moments and explained what works for us at home, but he seemed fine. They said that day he was really great and usually it was worse than that day and still pushed for 2 days a week as it was smaller class and he could get more focus. I said we were fine and we would keep working on it. Finally they called my wife to get him as he was "danger to the class". They had her come pick him up in the middle of the day said they had him on video biting a kid if she wanted to see. She said yes. They showed her the video. She saw him and another kid playing a little rough and they fell over she then saw he did put his mouth on the kids arm. My son at the time when he hurt his older sister would kiss her on the arm. I don't know but he did it lot. My wife explained this they said. Know the kid was bit. She asked if she could see the kids are if there was a mark. They said no and there would be no mark as the kid was wearing a jacket. My wife says the video that kid had no jacket on. They were like still he bit him and there's no mark take him home. My wife asked if they could apologize to the kid first. She had my son apologize and she saw no mark. Now my kid was barley 4 could he have bit this kid. Yes of course. Was he really a danger and needed to be sent home? No! Maybe if there was He cried most the rest the day and kept saying he was terrible (never said this before). He kept this up every time he would get in trouble for months it was the saddest thing. I asked him to show me on my arm what he did when I got home from work. He kissed my arm. Again I am not saying he couldn't have but what bullcrap to treat a kid like this. I immediately pulled him out. Took a couple months to get him find another school we liked what they said and they had opening. We did get him in somewhere else and we explained the whole thing to them. They said they were sure they could handle him and would keep an eye on things. After a couple months the staff there said he has the best social skills in the class. He is doing great. Is he hyper and pushes boundaries yes. And they work on it with him. Has he been violent. They said he and some other boys sometime do push but usually he doesn't push back unless they really keep bothering him. The format of curriculum at his new school is better for him. But they said he is doing well and excelling. The difference in how they reacted to him and the feedback was night and day. I would not recommend Leap Ahead pre-school to anyone avoid like the plague go somewhere else even if it costs more. Stay away!!!!

When they picked him up NO ONE knew what had happened to him. Complete NEGLECT!!! What makes this even more disturbing is the extremely concerning teacher-to-child ratio. There are reportedly around 15 children to just one teacher. That is not supervision -- that is a recipe for neglect and unsafe conditions. Children this young require constant attention, monitoring, and protection, especially during nap time when they are most vulnerable. The fact that something like this could happen raises serious questions about the level of oversight, staffing, and safety procedures at this facility. Parents trust daycares with their most precious thing in the world -- their children. When that trust is broken in such a traumatic way, it cannot be ignored. I strongly urge other parents to ask very hard questions before enrolling their children here, and I sincerely hope that the appropriate licensing authorities investigate this facility immediately. No family should have to go through something like this. Children deserve safety, not neglect.
