Had Huntington bank for about 3 4 months and I've experienced nothing but headaches mobile deposit payroll checks every 2 weeks and the system puts a hold on it for 7 days never fails. My company doesn't offer direct deposit. I switched banks never had a problem any where else horrible bank and service. You call customer service and they put you on hold to call someone else to try and release holds. read more

I would give them 10 stars if possible. I've been banking with Huntington for just about 1 year when I decided I wanted to sell my current home and buy a new one. My experience with this bank from day 1 has been nothing but positive. Connor Grattan at the Columbia Ave, Battle Creek location helped me open my account and helped me switch everything from my old bank with zero flaws, such a smooth transition thanks to him. 1 year later he continues to answer any questions I might have and in a very timely manner. Steve Wurtz and Morgan Belinger walked me through my new mortgage process with respect and excellent communication. This process took less thank 4 weeks and I'm ready to close! I was with my previous bank for over 20 years and treated like an account number. Got transferred into H(ell) Bank when they bought or merged with my previous bank. When I became a member of their bank they offered some kind of back up cash to cover my account in case it was ever needed. I might have skimmed the reading about this cash, but I did notice that they checked my credit report when I opted in for that back up cash . Fast forward a few years and I made a mistake balancing my account so I used the back up cash to cover my account as I knew I had made a mistake . The next day I went to my savings account that's at a credit union and pulled out cash that I went and put into my H(ell) Bank to cover my mistake. Meanwhile, the entire time I have used this place they have been throwing their credit card offers at me with cash back offers, low interest rates.... I have ignored those offers and not taken any of them. So I use that cash cover amount the one time that I know I have accidentally over drawn my account and they sent me such a rude email. The email said that now that I used that money they were going to have to check my credit like that is a threat! I wanted to respond to them are you kidding me? You've been throwing credit offers at me in the mail, via my email and in their banking app and now are going to get nasty? What a bunch of douche canoes because you already checked my credit report years ago so that's no kind of threat. I've had enough of them and I'm moving all of my money to my credit union. Atrocious experience with their mortgage lending department. Initially, he was very avaliable, told me we were going to move forward after pre-approval on a home. Three weeks later, after I repeatedly asked for a call back so we could discuss questions and sent emails with mortgage questions with no response, I got an email from him that I needed a co-signer based on the underwriter. I was completely unprepared by him for this and yet this didn't even warrant a call?!? This was for my HOME! I called and left another message because, of course, no answer, emailed. He, evidently, was scared of talking with me(?), I never was able to talk to him in person during this. Luckily, I had another private lender come through. I called and left a message (of course), and emailed to say I was withdrawing and he responded he was "sad" it wasn't going forward. Then, several days later he starts emailing back to unanswered loan questions I had the week before I ended the application thinking I wanted to pursue another application. Do you even look at the dates of emails? Just a mess and such an unprofessional experience. I wouldn't trust this department as far as I could throw it. read more

I had an auto loan with these people. Rude, Nasty, Unprofessional, Garbage, Mean, Vile. Those describe almost all of the employees who work here. I bought a car out of State and financed 35% of it since interest rates are so low. They put me with Huntington and after reading reviews I was worried but figured I should not worry. Boy was I wrong. I bought a car in December of 2020. I received my car on the 23rd and was unable to register it as I needed a copy of the title. Huntington dicked me around. They told me it had been sent out. It was a lie. After New Years I called them again to get a tracking number. They had no record of me calling. They had no tracking number and the piece of filth on the phone tried to gas light me into saying I had never contacted them despite tons of evidence. Mind you every time I called in was 1-2 hours. January 14 make another attempt. Wasted time. Was spoken to as if I was a piece of garbage and all that jazz. January 21 rinse and repeat and get hung up on several times. January 28 again. But I get a letter from these air thieves telling me my title request was submitted on December 28 and that in 2 weeks (from December 28) my insurance holder would have my title so I could register my 65k car that was rotting in the garage. NOPE. I called them to reference the letter and they told me no letter existed. I spent hours on the phone. I was transferred from one piece of shit to another piece of shit who seemed to be toying with me. These vile pieces of shit thought it was funny my State requires a Title to register a vehicle. By mid-February I got fed up with these pieces of human feculence that I paid off the remainder of my note. I wasted too many hours with these pathetic minimum wage losers. They told me I would be getting the title. More phone calls. More waiting on the phone. More waste of valuable time that I will never get back. March 19th I get my title. March f&^#@ng 19th. HOW CAN YOU BE THIS SLOW? HOW CAN YOU BE THIS HORRIBLE TO DEAL WITH? I don't wish bad things on anyone but after I was hung up on, wasted probably 20-30 hours of time and could not drive my 65k vehicle for almost 90 days! How is that possible? I have been a Huntington Bank customer for 20 yrs. I also am dealing with MDHHS and they are asking for a closed IRA account. for me to retain my benefits. Since the end of April I have been trying to get this one closed IRA letter or proof of closer for that IRA. It is now May 16th and i still do not have it. I have been to 2 different branches, called different branches call directly to the IRA part of the bank. IT is like Fort Knox. you would think i was asking for some secretive account. in the meantime because MDHHS did not get it in the time they gave me i am losing my benefits. I opened a checking and savings account when I started a new job and on the day of my first check I check my account and they've suspended my debit card. So I call and they cannot give me any reason other than that they're "closing" my account. WHY?! So then I ask ok, well I can see my check deposited into the checking account how can I get my money out without the debit card? I'm then told that I have to wait an additional day for the deposit to post to my account and that it's possible the check will not even post to the account it will bounce back to my employer. But I won't know what's going to happen until between midnight and 7am on Saturday. WHAT?! I can't even call my employer at that point until Monday. I went to cash a $120.00 IRS from a dead family member, MY NAME WAS ON THE CHECK. after about 25 minutes of the teller listening to the manager who told him no that for her to let him cash the check I had to open an estate account and then after 90 days I could get the $120.00. he proceeded to tell me, the teller was very polite and I could tell he felt bad, what the manager said. well, I will be closing that account and going somewhere that they value their customers. good luck other customer make sure if a dead relative leaves you a check ask them to give it to you while their alive cause Huntington won't cash it even if your name is on it. read more

The worse bank ever. Their accounts get hacked at least once a year and they do little to return your money. Their system must be outdated and hackers know the fraud protocol. So when charges hit your account unless you're extremely careful you'll be deceived into thinking your interacting with your bank but in reality you're interacting with the thieves trying to steal from you. Here' s the events as they took place. - I recently completed my second loan with Huntington National Bank, or thought I had, having my payments all set up for EFT. - A few days ago, I noticed on my credit score the final payment was showing as unpaid and over 90 days late. I noticed because it significantly impacted my credit score. - I contacted Huntington National Bank and they said they changed the final payment method from EFT to requiring a call in payment. - They indicated they notified me by mail. No attempt was made to contact me through email, phone, or text to let me know about this change. They indicated I can't expect them to contact every person they have a loan with that they are changing the last payment. I believe they actually can and should, considering phone calls, texts, and emails are automated. - In October I called Huntington National Bank and inquired about the final payment and nothing was mentioned about this coming off of EFT. - I was more than willing to make the final payment. Huntington National Bank was willing to waive the late fee on the payment I didn't know about. (For irony, when I made the final payment on the phone, they said they could only do it through the same bank checking as my EFT payments came out). - Huntington National bank has made the stance that they are unwilling to change the credit reporting because this was my error in that they notified me of the change and the payment was in fact late. My stance is that a single mailer is not a valid attempt to contact me, and expecting me to be familiar with their bureaucracy is not a reasonable expectation. Technically it is my fault. But I think they set it up to be that way. - They claim the reason is because they don't know what the final payment will be, but this is not a normal business practice in my opinion. I'm going to get a bit conspiratorial here, but it's entirely possible they just have a stupid business practice. But I'm a cynic, and corporate business practices I've seen in the past tend to support my cynicism. I think they deliberately sabotage final payments so they can significantly raise interest rates on future auto loans, knowing most people will get loans through the same bank they did business with last, and people are ok with paying the higher interest rates because after all, this was their fault. read more

Have a loan for an RV I purchased. It was totaled through no fault of my own. The insurance paid a payment to Huntington for almost the amount of the loan and another payment was made from the extended warranty that I purchased. Both payments were made before the grace period of my next payment. There is still a small balance for the GAP to pay. I checked on the loan and it showed a late fee charge. They did not care that they received money all that they care about is if it comes from me. Now I have a late payment charge on top of all of the money that I have already lost due to this accident. They will not even work with me until the GAP pays the remaining balance. The "customer service" lady was extremely rude and when I asked if there was anything they could do, she just said no. No compassion at all! This bank is horrible. Even when we were making payments on time, the reminder that we received always seem like an attempt to collect a debt. read more

ZERO IS TRUE rating. Had been with TCF bank and loved their service for over 15 yrs. I had personal and business checking and savings accts. with small minimal balances to take waive fees or minimal fees. Huntington takes over and now it is a COMPUTER GENERATED bank. NO people to discuss issues, always have to go to corporate, wait for corporate etc. Just got back from my branch to pay a $40 fee on an account that was to be CLOSED but was still pending the paperwork which was submitted on the 13th but it takes 48 hours or longer for corporate to acknowledge, so they posted 4 cents, yes 4 cents interest on my account on the 15th, which kept the account open! This generated the monthly fee of $40 since my balance was under $5,0000. So I just shelled out $39.96 to close account because I earned 4 cents in the month of July! Branch managers now do not have permission to waive fees as TCF employees could do in the past, everything must be approved by corporate. Good luck speaking to an English speaking person with your problems. Huntington now out sources their service department for complains etc. Closed all my accounts with Huntington, moving on to credit unions where hopefully they appreciate their members! read more

I am a customer by situation not choice. TCF merged with Huntington and I haven't been impressed. First they remove all coin counting machines from all branches (during the so called "coin shortage") and my next biggest complaint is you aren't able to search specific charges by name or company. If you are trying to find out what you've paid to a specific company or business you now have to search each statement by hand and hope you don't miss anything. read more

I would give them no stars if I could. On July 30th overpaid my standby cash they allow by $126.00. I called customer service and was told they would reset my stand by cash and thr money would be available the next week. This went on until Aug 16th when I was very upset. I was then told they were doing a refund of my money. I was give a case ID number and told the money would be available by Aug 23rd. I called on Aug 23rd when the money did not come in and was told they were sorry but the money would be settled on August 29th. On August 29th I called and was told they were very sorry but a superior had approved the money to be released tomorrow morning. The persons was not able to give me the supervisors name or any contact information as they said it was not in the system that way. At this point I am furious that it has taken a month to get my money back. I called at 10 am on August 30th and was told that now I would not be getting my money back. That it eas applied to my stand by loan and I should have been told that a while ago. The lady apologized for her co-works not understanding the situation. This was upsetting and scary. I spoke to a total of 11 customer services agents and out of them only 1 understood the situation and it took me a month to reach that one. I am closing my accounts. I recommend you stay away from Huntington Bank. Theo staff do not understand the inter working of their own company. I no longer trust them with my money. read more

Lost all my account numbers, no access online or mobile banking for my business checking, local branches were closed during the mobile and online banking transition and I was put on endless hold when calling customer service.
