A pub with one of the highest ceilings you'll see in a licensed premises. It has a huge framed cloth advertisement for the Quiet Man film.
This pub has struggled quite a lot in the last year or so - it's not good, in the midst of recession, to be known as one of the most (if not the most) expensive pubs in west Belfast for a drink. It gets dangerously close to the prices in the city centre.
That being said, it's a pleasant pub to sit in. The ceiling is so high, giving a sense of space and freedom, with windows/skylights allowing natural light to pour in. It's a very modern pub, done in a traditional style (wooden floors, tables, chairs, etc.), and almost approaches having an elegant feel to it. There's a restaurant here as well, serving bar snacks as well as lunch and dinner.
Aside from the prices here, the fact that it's surrounded by a few densely populated areas means that it's always going to attract a crowd at the weekends when they have entertainment on.
Solo artists and popular local bands are the usual choice on Saturdays and Sundays, with entertainment on Thursday and Fridays from time-to-time. read more
