Hunter's Refuge is a small town hunting store. I'm not a hunter, but I went to visit when I heard that they have a pretty substantial ladies' section. I was pretty surprised at the large variety of clothing and shoes available - North Face, Ugg, and Patagonia to name a few. The ladies' section is in the back corner and we were not greeted by staff in the hunting section. The sale section prices are pretty decent. There were Ugg sandals for $30 which is a great price. However, everything else was pretty pricey. I can't imagine I'll stop in here often when I'm in White Hall, but it is good to know it's there if I need to kill some time. read more

I have been shopping at Hunters Refuge since they opened. They carry a wide variety of name brand products at a fair price and their employees are knowledgeable. And since they have open up a women clothing section, candles and other item, my wife says, "Hey let's stop by Hunters Refuge" ! I never refuse ! read more

Great family owned store for all things hunting and casual. Lots of clothing and shoes besides just camo!

I went with my mom, and no one acknowledged our presence. Terrible service, wouldn't recommend. No one asked if we needed help or anything. Needless to say neither of us have been back there since. read more

When you first walk in, you are instantly greeted by the staff in a friendly manner and asked about needing help to find something. The items they sell, which are a variety, are fairly priced. The store is super clean and organized! I love coming here to buy the Southern Marsh shirts and the brand name coats (North Face, Patagonia, Free Country, etc.). read more

Called in ahead to make sure they had strings for my bow and that someone could put the new strings on my Ravin told them I'd be there in a hour. Walked in and they had the strings waiting to be put on. Done some shopping around while waiting on the bow and within an hour walked out with some new hunting clothes and a crossbow ready to go for in the morning! A cute small town store. They offer guns and the like for hunting. They offer things for your fishing need. They sell camo, boots and hunting gear. They also offer a wide variety of clothes for women, men and children. Very cute women's boutique style clothes offered here. They are a like a very small bass pro. They are very expensive. They have nice stuff but, the employees were so rude to my husband and I. No one ever asked if we were finding everything alright or asked if we needed help with anything. When we checked out the cashier was rude and was a snob. read more

We stopped this afternoon on the way to a family event and bought fleece jackets for 3 children at $50 each. Upon checking out and asking for gift boxes the clerk told us since we bought only 3 items we were only entitled to 1 1/2 gift boxes so she gave us 2. When I asked to buy the other gift box she said she would have to call management. As the long line of impatient customers in line waiting started to stare at her she grudging threw the other gift box down the counter to us. My point is what kind of rationale is that? If you bought 6 each of a $10 TShirt you would be entitled to 3 boxes but since we bought 3 $50 coats we were only entitled to 1 1/2 boxes...last time I will shop there for sure.... read more

A great place to buy anything from hunting supplies to ammo to name brand clothing. Easy place to shop for Christmas gifts.

Will never go there again; Got a new gun for Christmas from my husband, they took advantage of his lack of knowledge of firearms and talked him into buying a youth bolt action 22 rife that only came with a dummy clip then refused to exchange it for a rifle I preferred, He took the salesman advise that this would be the perfect gun for me and was never told him it could not be brought back if I did not like it and I looked and there is nothing posted in the store saying guns could not be exchanges. Great sports store for the area. Had a good selection and friendly staff. Had several made in the USA items and good selection of safes.

The past three times I've purchased firearms, I've went to Hunters Refuge only to leave disappointed. Every time I go to the gun counter, employees continually walk past without offering help. Their poor customer service is the sole reason why I travel nearly an hour away for any and all of my outdoor needs. I will not return, regardless of their specials. read more
