The manager Mari was so sweet and greeted us with an introduction of how the shop included displays curated by the featured creators. There were so many beautiful gifts from jewelry to art to housewares. There were some very cute dresses I would have loved to buy, though sadly they only went up to XL. Complimentary gift wrapping was offered too. We all walked out with something! Beehive was so cute and welcoming. If I were a local, I'd definitely be checking out the art classes offered.

The Beehive on Caroline Street is easily one of my favorite spots in Atlanta. It's so much more…read morethan just a store; it's a creative escape. I've spent quite a few weekends there taking everything from sewing and flower arranging to candle making, and every single class has been a joyful experience. There's something refreshing about stepping away from a screen and actually making something with your hands. The boutique side is just as great--it's packed with unique, high-quality gifts from local makers, so you're always finding something one-of-a-kind. Plus, they give you 20% off any purchases on the day you take a class, which makes it nearly impossible to leave empty-handed. If you're looking for a new hobby or just want to support the local creative scene, you really can't beat the vibe here.

Anyways, I was very impressed with their variety of jewelry and prices. Some costume jewelry places just have the tackiest stuff. I mean stuff that no one, not even drag queens or pre-teens, should ever wear. But at Hur's the variety is a bit more tasteful. Yeah, there is some tacky stuff, but it's not just all bright colors and sparkles. There's even stuff that an elementary school teacher could wear, like pins and earrings with apples on them. Outside of jewelry, there was also a nice selection of things like scarves, hats, and hair pins.

While I was still using it, I realized someone was entering the code to open my restroom door. They did not knock or give me any warning. I frantically tried to pull up my pants while also struggling to hold in my urine, but the door opened before I had time to process what was happening. Because I was startled and rushing, I also ended up with stains on my white pants. After I finished putting my pants on, I looked out of the restroom and saw a group of about seven people, including workers, quickly walking away and laughing. I was extremely embarrassed and in shock, which made it difficult for me to remember their faces. No one involved waited outside the restroom, tried to find me afterward, apologized, or took responsibility. When I explained what happened to another employee, she apologized on their behalf but said she did not know who did it. I appreciated her apology, but the situation left me feeling exposed, humiliated, and unsafe. I left without purchasing anything because I could no longer enjoy the experience.

The strands of medium beads are solid, bright colors like lime green. The strands of small beads have a main color with a little of other colors mixed in. I thought I was supposed to wrap the strand around twice, but she explained that you tie them around you once where you want them then cut the excess. You tie them in a knot, so they aren't meant to be taken off and on, unless you're cutting to make it tighter. I also got a beautiful fabric fan and I wish I'd bought two or three.
