This was our last destination of a wine and beer tour around the Hunter Valley. This large plot of land was quite a peaceful the place, and for those of us still able to walk we were able to enjoy a few cold ones. As a beer lover I was really excited to see a brewery, even if it was micro.
The tour of the brewery was enjoyable, however I feel like I didn't get much out of it. There is only one big room which contained all their equipment. The tour guide was informative but felt a little bit too basic, like it was simplified for children... not that children would be allowed on this tour.
Throughout the tour we were able to try two different beers, and once the tour was over (maybe 30 minutes in all) we were allowed to try a beer of our choosing. What I would have preferred was the chance to try each of their beers, from light to dark, and be informed about what to look out for in their flavours/what to pair them with - just like with the wines.
The staff were friendly and the beer did taste nice. I guess I just felt a little underwhelmed by the whole experience. read more
