This place sucks, they didnt have a damn thing to put on the sandwich. The sub itself tasted like the mustard. You wont see me here again.

I travel quite a bit for work so I'm on the road and I'm usually stopping at new places, but I took my family here and was absolutely blown away by the service and their attentiveness to my wife's allergies, their menu was simple which speaks volumes to the quality that the chefs will be putting out, their drink menu was superb and they didn't miss on a single facet of the experience.

Stayed in davernport overnight and picked this restaurant for dinner based on yelp reviews. I try…read morenot to have high expectations for restaurants based on reviews and make my own opinions. I'll admit I was a little bit disappointed with the experience. The ambiance is very nice. The restaurant was in the downtown area very close to the mississippi river. There seemed to be a lot happening at the other establishments. In the area. The service was efficient , although we weren't a big fan of our server. One of the things that bothered me was when our bill came and they have those handheld machines that cash you out , the server stood over the top of us waiting to see how much gratuity we were gonna apply to our check. That's one thing that should never be done in a nicer place. The food was decent. The brussels sprout salad was absolutely fantastic. We ordered four different entrees. The swordfish , the salmon , lamb meatballs and a pasta dish. All came out hot looking really nice and had multiple components. Some of the dishes lacked seasoning and the overall wow factor. The bill came out to $240 with one salad , four entrees and five alcoholic drinks. Very reasonable fo four people at a nice place. We didn't order dessert, but I would've liked to try the cheesecake.

There were positives and negatives about The River Room ... one positive is that it's one of the…read moreonly food option around at the Hyatt Place-- the menu was very limited if you want real food. It's mostly a wine bar so I guess that makes sense, but there were appetizers (charcuterie, pulled pork nachos, baked Brie, etc) and that was about it. After driving 3.5 hours to get to this place, I was hoping for something a little heartier. I went with the pulled pork nachos though and they were made quickly... I had to them go so the presentation wasn't the prettiest. They were very underwhelming and they forgot the pork... not the greatest miss when you're so hungry! They tasted like an in-cohesive dish... basically some chips with canned cheese, pickled onions/green onions and some bbq sauce put on top. Definitely not filling either, even though it was only an appetizer. I did order the lavender limeade and that's pretty good! The nachos were $15 and the limeade was $5 so $20. The restaurant/bar itself was beautiful -- very upscale decor and a nice ambiance. There were several people enjoying wine and all their other spirits. All in all... if you want a full meal you'll probably need to order several small plates to feel satisfied.
