I have been very happy with my Hungry Harvest deliveries from this location. I opted for the organic harvest and the variety/quality/freshness has always been better than what I find at the local grocery stores. Some items arrive retail ready in their branded packaging and some arrive farmers' market bare. The convenience and user experience is great - allows me to skip any delivery/customize the exact items/qty I would like to receive (2-3 days in advance), and communicates when the delivery is on its way/when it has been successfully delivered - complete with timestamp and photo of box(es) at my property. The boxes are always packed very carefully with ice packs (that they are willing to pick up and recycle) and include itemized inventory. The social impact of each delivery and the Hungry Harvest mission makes supporting this company a no-brainer and a joy! read more

We just got our first box this weekend and we are impressed so far. We had the mini organic with a dozen eggs and the "mystery herbs" (ended up being dill). Everything is fresh and delicious so far. The size of the box is great--I hesitated to do a "mini" box for my husband and me, as we eat a lot of fruits and veggies and almost never eat out--but the quantity actually seems just right. I'll check back in if we run into any problems later, but so far, I'm very happy with the quality, variety, price, and hey it's nice having a box just delivered to your doorstep. Having different stuff in the box encourages us to try out new recipes instead of just sticking with the same old standbys. read more

Totally in love with this service! Keeps me updated on upcoming delivery, even to the point of letting me know the status of the driver! But the real reason I love it, is this: After decades of cooking ( the same old stuff), I got bored and pretty much stopped cooking all together. After receiving my first box of "goodies" I didn't quite know what to do. Some of the items were not even familiar to me. After looking up some recipes (thanks, Pinterest), the adventures side of me re-appeared and I remembered how much fun I used to have, doing this! I have been really enjoying this service so far. -You can make a "never" list of things you don't like that will not be in your box -For a small fee (under $2), you can still customize your harvest for each shipment. Never any surprises of things I won't eat -Easy add-ons like eggs (never have been broken!) -All cardboard except for a chillpack that can be reused -Produce has been very good. I eat the produce in the order of how long it will keep. For things like broccoli, I have had it for 3-4 weeks. -Great if you like meal prep or cooking in bulk. -For a subscription service, it is great that you can put in any set of dates you want to stop service. They also send reminder emails. I have stopped other meal services (ex Blue Apron) because you can only do a few weeks at a time and they don't remind you about your upcoming subscriptions. It is refreshing to have a subscription service that doesn't feel like it wants you to forget to login so they can charge you for something you won't use. Also love that they send texts regarding delivery, so I know exactly when it arrives. Really nothing bad to say about this service. I suggest going for the full rather than the mini harvest to avoid the delivery fee. read more

I wanted to support this brilliant idea to reduce food waste, and I sincerely tried. Their website is not intuitive at all. You have to put a "harvest" in your cart just to see what's being offered that week. First shipment was great, then later ones showed up including produce with mold, fungus, limp greens, tiny 2" avocados that never ripened, broccoli with lots of yellow buds where it's supposed to be dark green. Tomatoes that were pale and rock hard with dark spots on the skin. Peppers with mold inside. Gigantic overgrown carrots 3" in diameter with big splotches of rot on the outside skin (I'd post a picture if I could). The young man who created this business went on Shark Tank and got investors. He's now probably getting inferior produce at very low cost or no cost, and selling it to us near grocery store prices or a bit less. Some of this stuff really belongs in the compost heap. We've had our Hungry Harvest deliveries for the past three months and we love it. Our delivery comes promptly on Saturday morning, carefully packaged with ice packs we send back for recycling. The produce is always fresh. We love the variety--it's so fun getting something that we normally don't cook with. The online interface is great and it's super easy to modify your deliveries if traveling. We love it! read more
