    Crispy chicken sandwich and fries
    Fiorella M.

It was fairly quiet for a Thursday evening. The service was pretty good. I ordered the crispy chicken sandwich that came with mediocre fries. The sandwich itself was pretty good, stacked with lettuce and the brioche bun was soft. I forgot to take a photo but I ordered a cocktail, "coco berry jammin'" which was delicious Overall pretty decent.

Too fancy for me My husband was running along the Nokiidaa Trail. We passed the Newmarket downtown, saw this place and decide to come in. I found this place too fancy for me. It is more of a brewery/pub than a restaurant. We just want a quick bite, did not expect this to be a fancy business dinner. I would recommend this place if you want to take your clients/date out for dinner. However, I don't recommend it for a casual quick eat. The food is mostly burgers and pizza.

Went here while visiting friends in Canada. Loved the trendy vibe and local bear selection. My husband and I split the brisket entree. The fries and coleslaw were great with the flavorful and tender brisket. Yummy!

Recommended by a golf buddy live in Mt Albert. My wife and myself ordered a curry rice bowl and braised pork sandwich. That was very delicious. The sauce of the braised pork sandwich was way beyond by expectation. My wife loved curry herself. She said the curry was 4 out of 5 and hope they give her more rice or may be a piece of bread. Atmosphere is like a family restaurant more than a pub. Last not least, too many beer choices. Too many Great Beer choices. Beer was really good and we just try the house brew. After talked to waitress Olivia, need to try 2 of her favourite choices next time. I will be their next return customer !!

3.5 Star Are you HUNGRY? Are you into BREWs? Are you into HOPs? (Beer hops or bar hopping?) Are you up North at the end of 404? You should come here NOW! 26 Beers on draft with Great Lakes and Beau's Seasonals. A good selection of bottles too. Food menu is quite diverse. We ordered quite a few things to try. HBH Burger ($15) and Grilled Chicken Cheese Sandwich ($13) were both great. Pork Belly Banh mi ($14) and Mac+Cheese ($6) were meh. Hand-Cut frites ($5) was really good! Definitely skip the Tiramisu ($6) looked cute but didn't worth the calories! $10 for a sampler of 4 beers on tap was a great deal. Hungry Brews Hop is an awesome addition in Newmarket Main Street area. Cheers!

I've stopped by here twice now and I have to say it's probably one of the best options for late night in Newmarket. Their hours are good specially for mid week and their kitchen runs pretty late too which is great. Food: the bone marrow is delicious, I strongly recommend it! It is on the greasy side but that's just the nature of the dish. I also tried their pulled pork grilled cheese and it was also super delicious. Drinks: they have a pretty large beer selection, the HBH lager was great! I also tried their beer sangria which was nice. Overall I've had a pleasant experience both times I've been to HBH and will likely return to try more things on their menu!

Bathrooms stink but that's because the building is probably 200 years old. Beer is ok.

Great food. Great service. Innovative menu. If I had any complaint, it would be the music was a little loud. And the drinks were a tad weak.

Although some of the plates going out to the tables around us did look pretty tasty. We shared a beer flight and there were some very interesting flavours that stood out to me. The Happy Circumstance Cream Soda Lager. HOLY. That might be one of my fave beers. Think of a cream soda that has just a lil bit of beer carbonation at the end of the sip. That's what this tasted like. It blew my mind. Didn't really taste like beer at all. If you blindfolded me and told me it was cream soda mixed w/ a hint of beer I would've believed you. Incredible drink. It stood out the most out of all of the ones we tried. So much so that I can't even remember what the other ones we ordered were.

Tried 2 of their craft beer: Borland Roe Ale - I enjoyed this. It is not overpowering. It even tasted good when it wasn't as cold. Also the City of Dreams Vienna beer - this was also good, but I preferred the Borland. Started off with a Charcouterie board. This was very good. The items on the board was a good variation to the usual cold cuts. It had 2 types of cheese, salami, sausage, warm fried bacon slabs, bread (could use more), pickled items and strawberries. It was yummy. We then had the beef dip, as recommended by the waiter. This was good. The meat on it's own could be seasoned a bit more though. The dip was just ok. Tasted like packaged. The Fries were done well. There was gravy - OK. Service was good. The server was very attentive. It was a very pleasant experience.

The menu leans fusion, so there was a lot to try, and overall it felt like a fun place to share plates and compare notes with the table. The cocktails definitely stood out for being stronger than the usual lighter, sweeter drinks you get elsewhere, and the smoky cinnamon one was probably the most memorable. For appetizers, the beef tartare with bone marrow was the clear winner for me. The tartare tasted bright and fresh, and the marrow was rich without feeling greasy. The mussels were also enjoyable, mostly because they were fresh and sat in a creamy broth that made the whole dish feel comforting. We also tried the octopus with pumpkin purée, which had a nice chewy texture and a lovely sweetness from the purée, although a slight charred taste came through more than I personally wanted. For mains, a few dishes landed better than others. The ribeye with chimichurri was one of the stronger choices, tender, properly cooked medium rare, and especially good with that sharp, herbaceous sauce. The ribs were also very tender and full of flavor. The salmon in puff pastry was enjoyable enough that I would order it again, even though the pastry itself was a little softer than I expected. The udon carbonara was decent and comforting, but probably not the most memorable thing on the table, and the signature chicken had flavorful meat even if the rice leaned a bit too soft for me. One small complaint I kept coming back to was the bread, which tasted more charred than I like. Still, Wilcox feels like a nice little spot for a relaxed dinner with drinks, especially if you go in the mood to share, explore the menu, and order a few of the stronger dishes.

The tartar sauce and pickled cabbage were delicious along with the mushy peas. My girlfriend had the Cobb salad with chicken which was passable but not special. I was immediately impressed when I walked inside, as the place has plenty of cool decor and boasts a dimly-lit feel that I find irresistible. And I feel like I made the right choice because it's one tasty hamburger. I wouldn't rank it with the best in the city, but all the components were right on target and I enjoyed the heck out of it. The fries were great, too. I don't know why it took us so long to check out Bramble Gastropub, but I think it's safe to say we'll be returning sometime very soon.
