They were busy on FAMILY DAY, staff was amazing. Working quick and efficiently. Burger was one of the best I've eaten. Great experience.

Came here for a bite to eat after hiking at Thornton Bales all morning. This place took my patio reservation over the phone. They have spacious picnic table seatings spread apart out back next to a river that runs through the back. Their menu items consist of your classic English pub foods. The waitress and staff were so friendly. Great service. Food was mediocre. Nothing special, but it wasn't bad. It was just English pub food I could get at another other English pub. The wings were a little hard and dry. Their fries were extremely crispy and well done. We got the fish tacos - meh. The jerk chicken tacos were better than the fish but way too salty. The schnitzel tasted bland after I had the salty jerk chicken tacos. The best thing I ate here was their Asiago crab dip with naan and extra chips. They also sold mango white claw which was a perfect drink for today's hot day. Portions were great. Each item we ordered came with a side of either fries or salad. Their salads tasted fresh and no wilted leaves in sight. We had leftover fries and we got them to go. Although they didn't have QR code menus, they did tell us they wiped it down every time. Their washrooms were really clean too.

I really enjoy this pub because it reminds me to home cooked food that isn't overly commercialized like most places. The service is always friendly and efficient - it also seems like a lot of locals enjoy this place a lot (it's always decently packed). Some of my favourites include their classic burger, the calamari, the club sandwich and my most recently favourite, the portobello mushroom burger w/ onion crisps, tomato and swiss cheese. The burger was very juicy and flavourful that blended with the onion really well. I didn't even miss the fact that there was no meat. You also get a side of fries, salad or daily soup with most meals. Parking can be difficult because there isn't a lot in their parking lot but you can park across the street and there's a few spots in front of the restaurant.

Really nice neighborhood pub Decor may be a little dated but it's bright and clean. We were here on a Saturday evening and it was quite busy with reservations and a party upstairs. It may be a wee bit pricey but the food was fresh and delicious and the service was warm and friendly

I always drive by the Crow's Nest and thought I would try it out for the first time on a Friday night The pub always seems to be busy. Which is a good thing! I was quite surpised when I walked inside. The decor is something alright, but very pub/scottish/nautical feel. It was different alright but in a good way. We had great service and the food was pretty good as well. I had clam chowder soup to start and my husband had French onion soup. Both were freshly made and tasted great. For our entree, I had the Angus Beef Dip with fries and my husband had the Fish of the Day - Fried Cod with Tiger Shrimp with a special Tomato sauce served on rice. He enjoyed his meal as it was different and not a typical meal you would order but it's nice to try new things than from the traditional pub. My meal was really good as well. Very tasty and filling. In the end we were content with everything from their service to food. We would recommend and definitely visit again.

Overall impression: Nice classic pub ambience, decent food and mediocre service This pub is located just a few minutes away from downtown Newmarket with a small parking lot, and a great little river running right next to it making it feel like you're out of movie. The pub looks like an old school British house which I thought was quite neat. I don't have anything bad or good to say about the service, our server was also the bartender for the night and she sat us right next to the bar. She was super busy fulfilling drink orders and didn't check up on us or anything, when I needed something I would just yell at her from my seat to the bar. We ordered the grilled cheese, reuben sandwich and the perogies. The sandwiches were alright, they were nothing too special about these, the only thing that were super good are the perogies, they were downright delicious covered in butter, bacon and onion. I might come here again one day to get pub food, but other than that it's nothing too special.

Therefore I didn't need to wait too long for my food as other reviewer mentioned. We ordered the onion soup. The cheese on top is not toasty at all as shown from my pic but despite that, it's a really good tasty onion soup!! It's very hot (temperature hot) which is a must for me for onion soup! And also Very flavourful bowl of soup with real food taste. I am surprised how good it is! Way better than the Keg one! If they toast the cheese on top longer and make it more toasty, it would have been a Perfect bowl of onion soup and would be one of the best one in TO!!! We also ordered the burger with wedges. The patty is nice and thick and not dry! I do like the burger. But the wedges, it's subpar unfortunately, abit too burnt and dry... Brussels sprout is ok, nothing particular standout but not a bad dish either! I need fibre in my diet anyway so this is perfect.. lol... All in all, this experience is a positive one and I will come back for the onion soup again for sure !! I give it a 4 stars mostly because of the yummy onion soup!

False advertising is one thing, but the food & service are also questionable. They also have some Indian dishes so since the ribs & wings deal was not available, I ordered lamb rolls but only after I'd paid was I told it was not available & cheaper starters were offered to replace it. A proactive refund of the difference was not offered: I had to ask. And I got the pre-tax difference back, so I was overcharged. Ordered chicken samosas. The inside of the first was still ice cold. I returned & complained about this & the guy refried the other 3 & dumped the half eaten samosa without giving me a new one. This aside they tasted OK & there was little chicken in them - they were mostly potato. Got the yellow chicken with naan. The naan was uninspired - it tasted like it'd just been warmed up in the microwave. The yellow chicken tasted so-so. It was not very yellow & was a rasam (thin) not a curry (thicker). The naan didn't go with it (naan goes more with thicker curries) & there was no rice option.
