This place looks dirty. The food Americanized version Chinese greasy and poor quality tasteless and gross. I asked for hot tea and they gave me a small styrofoam cup from under the counter that was not wrapped and close to the floor, I can imagine if they ever sweep, all the dust goes inside. I refused to use it and asked for a can of coke. The cashiers the day I was there act like space cadets and I think they speak very little English making ordering difficult. Wow! How bad can you rate something? My wife and I only wanted to order soup, egg rolls, and steamed dumplings. My wife got soy sauce soup instead of wonton soup, and really old, tasteless wontons. We shared the egg rolls, but they were also tasteless, as well as mouth-burning hot. The dumplings were passable but nothing special. We decided we had made a mistake when we went to the single restroom to wash our hands. Everything in there was so dirty that my wife had to use the hem of her blouse to open the door I did the same thing with my shirt. The soap and paper towel dispensers were both filthy ( and, incidentally, empty). We had to cover the table with napkins for a clean surface. The front of the restaurant wasn't as bad as the bathroom, but it was close. The cook took our order and brought us our food, dressed in a dirty t-shirt and a VERY dirty apron. This is a very pleasant surprise. We were traveling through Manassas and wanted Chinese food. We saw this storefront and stopped. This is some of the best Chinese food we have had in years!! Fresh! New to Manassas. I ordered Triple Delight for take out, they charge a $1 extra for fried rice. I added sweet and sour soup and an order of crab rangoon. The Triple Delight...was very good, nice sized shrimp and tasty chicken and beef. The veggies were especially fresh. The sweet and sour soup was a sizable portion and very good. Unfortunately, the quality dropped off after my first couple of visits. The first thing I noticed was that there was very little meat in the entrees, especially noodle entrees. Paying about 10 dollars for a dinner entree that turns out to be mainly noodles is just not right! The last visit, I ordered a large hot and sour soup to go for 4.35. When I got home and served it, I found it to taste burnt! The worst hot and sour soup I have ever had. Inedible. It also had very old button mushroom mushrooms. At least my food was spicy, and flavoured correctly, as opposed to most Chinese restaurants where every dish that is supposed to have some spicy heat to it is instead cloyingly sweet. Jeez, I cannot stand that. I've been here twice now - the first time I ordered Spicy Garlic Chicken and the second time I ordered General Tso's Shrimp. The vegetables in the Spicy Garlic Chicken were not as fresh as they could have been, but the broccoli in the General Tso's Shrimp tasted like it had just been picked, washed off and steamed. Very fresh, crisp, and delicious. Hunan-style food is generally very hot and spicy, and what they serve here is the standard Chinese menu you get at a lot of places. But, maybe, just maybe, they remember their Hunan roots when it comes to the entrees that are supposed to be spicy. read more

Chinese food tastes the same everywhere I go... Does that sound bad? It was good, but not enough to wow me. We ordered the general tso chicken, that could have used a little extra sauce. Sweet and sour chicken was OK, it always get soggy by the time we get home. I would always re-bake them for that crispy crunch. This is our go to for chinese food delivery in the area. The other options around us are subpar. The fried dumplings are excellent, light wrapper, flavorful filling. Other favorites are the general tso's, beef lomein, pork fried rice, chicken with cashew nuts, etc. We are sticklers for good dumplings and Hunan Cafe on Liberia has the best. If you go to order online it often tells us we are outside of their delivery zone but if I call they always deliver and it's always hot & fresh. We're 5.25miles away. I think a lot of these reviews are for the wrong place. Look at the location of the reviewers, most bad reviews are not in Manassas. I also think perhaps other restaurants are posting bad reviews for them on purpose because the food here is quite good. We've never had an issue with service in 10+ years. read more

The food is usually spot on. Last nights offering left us a little disappointed however. The steamed dumplings were brown in appearance and obviously were fried NOT steamed. Grand Opening was today! So already having a menu and feeling kinda lucky with the chinese (yes...), I decided to give it a try. I ordered 2 items, and it gets 3 stars out of 5 because one item was very good, and the other item was so-so. I ordered a noodle soup and a chicken chow fun. The delivery order was prompt and and the total was a bit high, but that's a learning experience. I guess next time just go with one item. The noodle soup came in two tupperwares, the first one contained just noodles, and the second one had all the fix-ins, including the broth. It is a HUGE portion (it reminded me of Hunan Garden in Winchester which has really good noodle soups). The fix-ins one was scalding hot, I needed oven mitts just to pour it (and I needed a bigger bowl too). The broth is clear, contains vegetables (I ordered the house noodle soup which had chicken, beef, and shrimp). It was really good. The noodles were a bit thick, but I'd like to have a choice of noodles next time. Mei Fun nooodles would have made this experience a lot better, and maybe would've pushed my overall review up another star. But I was pleased with the soup very much. The chicken chow fun, looking at it, got off to a great start. Good chicken and the noodles were very good. Then, it gets too onion-y. Way too onion-y. I don't like red onion (clearly that's what the onions were) and I had to forage around to pick them out. Eventually the whole thing started to taste like a nightmare from Dracula, and just thought, "You know what? I had one good item, and one not so good item. This is not worth getting sick over." and just threw the rest of it away. At least I learned that they make a good soup and it was a pleasure that I had gotten it. I'll try around for their Lo Mein, Kung Pao chicken, and their Wonton soup, but the noodle soup is enticing enough for me to want to order from this place again (hopefully it will stick around!) read more

Since our favorite Chinese restaurant closed we've been looking for a good place close to home. WE'VE FOUND IT!! We are only sorry it took us so long!! My two companions and I started dinner with an order of egg rolls (light, crispy, delicate, meaty-beef and very flavorful) and the fried dumplings (fried and tasty with ground meat and a nicely flavored soy-based dipping sauce). We shared the crispy beef (tender, very lightly starched with a light, sweetish sauce); mu shu beef (tender beef with no coating, lots of tender cabbage- Napa? -in a light, sweet sauce); and the house egg foo young (very meaty/shrimpy and moist but a touch too oily - served with a separate, thick, brown gravy). Everything was perfectly cooked and fresh. The menu and signage tout their healthy foods. With no msg and low-sodium salt, I found the need to add soy sauce or salt for my taste. The oil used was very light tasting and the vegetables in our dishes were all very fresh. I am not a fan of sweetly-sauced meat dishes but none we had was over-done. The size of the portions were quite ample. We could have had two entrees for the three of us but the bonus for tomorrow are the take-home boxes. This "restaurant" is TERRIBLE!! The food has no flavor except for a commonality to cardboard. This was our first and LAST time we will give them our money. Egg rolls are all wrapper. It doesn't even have any egg/meat/veggies. Crab Rangoon has no crab in it. Curried Chicken has nothing but red pepper flake water. The beef broccoli had nothing but a flavor of broccoli water. And the beef lo-mien tasted like paste. How do you screw up beef lo-mien?!?!! This experience was just horrible. Do not eat here!! Tends to be on the healthier side so I dont feel guilty about eating Chinese food! Moderate portions. Some other places tend to be really greasy and make me sick.
