Tuesday came and went--no estimate, no communication. I followed up via email yesterday and only then did I receive a response with an excuse: apparently, their workmen "did not feel comfortable" working on our third-story roof. They're roofers--how is a multi-story home a surprise? Why bother coming out if they weren't prepared or qualified to do the job in the first place? This felt like a waste of our time and an unprofessional way to handle customer service. If you're looking for reliability and follow-through, I suggest looking elsewhere.

Then I had to checkup and verify they were receiving my mail and that the address they had gave me was correct because they were unable to find the letter I sent. Communication is a concept unknown concept to them. They will fight you tooth and nail to not admit they were wrong. I had people show up at my door without notice to drop materials and the company had no idea how long the work would take. Absolutely insane! Their resource and logistics management is slump at best, and customer service leaves a lot to talk about. IMPORTANT: The workers do an excellent job. This review has nothing to do with the performance of the workers.

I recommend John Scott Roofing 100% hands down the best in service, professionalism, knowledge and price. We did remodeling in a previous life, so all of this was familiar to us. I asked 10 roofing contractors to come out and give me a price on Owens Coring Duration Designer with peel/stick water barrier. 1-John Scott does his own estimates and goes over all the points needed for a successful roof replacement, prep, warranty and answers all questions, no pressure. ***THIS INCLUDES the signed statement he has paid for materials. WHAT THIS MEANS you will not get a lien on the products installed if the roof company fails to pay for their materials. 2-No down payment 3-Uses their own license (yes this is a thing-some contractors pay to use others licenses) 4-The installers were professional, and cleaned up every nail. Our 2K SF roof was done in 1 day. Tear off, replace any rotten wood, prep, waterbarrier, and new shingles. 5-Price was the lowest even with a premium product. JS did not charge extra for the premium product either. Out of the 10 estimates: John Scott was the lowest, the second closest came in $600 more. The rest $3000-$9,000 MORE FOR THE SAME PRODUCT/SERVICE. 6-His office team is responsive and he has a great warranty! DO YOUR HOMEWORK. Be patient, he is booked! The office team was incredible! I cannot say enough about John Scott Roofing! Thank you John and team!
