This was my family's favorite spot for dinner until tonight, we ordered 3 meals w/salads I got a rude server who argued over a chile sauce. He kept insisting that he gave me some, when I tried to tell him that he gave my husband some but I didn't get any I was shocked when he challenged me do you want to bet. lol I said you can come to my table and see for yourself self.I then went to my table and brought my plate back to prove he was wrong, instead of apologizing and giving me the freaking red chile sauce he shoved in a small sauce container it to show me more of his anger issues I understand that people have it hard in a restaurant business but on the other end, he ruined my dinner and family night out by embarrassing me the way he did! I will never come back to the restaurant again, I'm disgusted by his behavior tonight! On top of things, I paid $cash and never got my change back!!! Never again!! read more

I have eaten here several times. This time I had the falafel and fries. Falafel didn't have enough spices to give it a kick like I've had in other places. Prices are fair. I visited the place today , I used to eat there few years ago was good falafel. Sorry to report that the falafel was sub standard with dry laffa and way overpriced $18.99 . I was reaped off , if it was worth it , i would not complain but it was a real substandard. The service was friendly the food not acceptable , variety poor . Hummus was way too liquid mixed with lots of water and doesn't seem to be fresh as it had a yellowish color . I think I just had the best hummus pita of my life and it was beyond simple. Plane pita with hummus and hot sauce. I was not craving meat today but damn that hit the spot! I will say, the protein I saw other people getting looked fire! But y'all know I couldn't leave without dessert! But, as they progress in time and expended restaurant space, food quality become substantially less "exciting" and far less tasteful especially during "rush" hours. Best food in Hallendale hands down. I'm the pickiest person on earth and once a week eat out or get take out. After the 3rd visit, I believe that I can favorably rate this place as I plan for the next visit. This is the location of another similar restaurant but iI dont knowvthe history. I do know that Ihave never been disappointed here. I am not Israeli but this food is really good and there are several very terrific restaurant options in South Florida. The food at Hummus Achla seems to be a step up. Love the falafel, sabich and shakshuka. The shawarma is good as are all the veggies so far. ( Have not tried the beanz salad yet.) The hummus is the star here and they have a dedicated menu of options. My goal is to try all of them during trips nearby to visit a client. The hummus falafel is hard for me to pass up. This is a big bowl of their wonderful hummus, topped with tahini, chic peas, olive oil and, of course, falafel. This is served up woth a plate of chilis, carrots and pickles. Then the hot pita bread. Not easy to say, but this is one of the best meals ever, even without meat! The portions here are generous. Light eaters can easiy share one of the hummus menu selections. The dining room is very basic and there is nothing special about the ambience. Who cares? The dining room is small, and it fills up. Dont show up at 1230 and expect a table that is not shared. This was our first time and we will be back! Everything was made fresh and tasted wonderful. We were so hungry, I didn't take a picture of the wonderful falafel platter before we dove in. The surrounding plaza isn't much to look at and the restaurant is very casual, family friendly. There's minimal seating. It's not easy finding a vegan & traditional friendly restaurant. Legit like eating back home in Israel. Almost same set up as all of the other falafel spots. Food is made fresh, not pre cut or warmed up. Fresh salad options for toppings. Their schwarma is amazing but don't let them heat the meat it in a pan---fresh straight off the spit or pass (it's dry and tasteless once in pan)!! Best deal is a platter; it's enough for two. Their babaganoush (eggplant-- white), red Eggplant salad and purple cole slaw are standouts. Don't miss the mashed potatoes, rice, pita, fresh pickles and olives with your platter (it's rarely offered, but included in the price of platters).
